  • @MSUDucks‌ I would if I thought it would do any good. A couple of weekends ago, he locked himself in the bathroom- called 911 with his mom's cell & told them he had murdered her.
Obviously DHS showed up for that one (along with police, ambulance, & firefighters), but once his grandmother came & talked to the workers- they left.
His mom told me about this incident the following Monday, & seemed to not be angry with her son at all. She was actually angry at her MIL for 'interfering in their business'. I really didn't understand that-- all she did from what I could understand was keep DHS away from the boy.
The 18 year old brother is totally aware the young one is a psychopath. I don't know why the parents let him get away with this stuff. Future serial killer, for sure...
  • Is his name Kevin?

That ain't normal behavior by anyone's standards
  • I am so FREAKING EXCITED about all these fellow pool pee-ers! Now I can be super honest and say that at the time I really didn't care that much about it, but DH has made SUCH an issue of it that I got to thinking maybe I am just gross and should hide this at all costs.... Oddly he's totally cool with peeing in the lake, even though lakes don't have chlorine. I guess because it's so much bigger and the pee gets dispersed? Lol

I pee in the indoor lap pool at the gym nearly every time I'm in there.  It takes me 10 minutes to wrangle my pregnant self into my swimsuit.  I am not going to go through the effort just to go pee, especially with a wet suit.  So...pee in the pool it is.  I am not ashamed.

  • I have a mental block or something about peeing anywhere but in a toilet. I've tried peeing in the pool, and the shower...never can. I always have to get out and get to the toilet. Everytime we go swimming, DH and DD pee in the pool as happy as can be. I just cannot make myself do it. I have no idea why.

I read that book while pregnant with my DD. Not advisable.

  • @amclaws, I have the same issue with a mental pee-block! It really sucks at the lake, when peeing in the water is my only option. I have no clue why I have such an issue with it- everyone does it!
@darkangel42 & @ghostof5letters‌ , I've never heard of it... is this a book I should gift to the kid's mother? She needs some kind of wake-up call.

My confession... I've never cleaned my oven in the 10 years we've owned our home.  I've never cleaned an oven period.  Suddenly I'm panicking about it because MIL is coming to stay with us for a few weeks after LO is born and at some point she's bound to look in there :\
I had to clean mine for the first time ever a couple months ago. None of the Pinterest "natural" ways even made a dent. I got the fume-free Easy-Off, and it still took four times. And my oven wasn't that bad. I agree with @literachick, hire someone.

Peeing in the shower is totally normal.

Also, peeing in a bathing suit is easy, just crank the suit to the side and let 'er rip.  I can't bring myself to pee in pools anymore but the lake/ocean?  Uh, that's nature's toilet, yo.  Fair game.

Do you have a self cleaning cycle? That thing works wonders.

Have they had previous caretakers watch over him before?  Did they leave/quit because of his irrational behavior?  Certainly they don't have their heads in the sand THAT bad?

  • Oh my. His mom is so sweet, I could never give a book like that to her. I wouldn't have even joked about it if I knew!

You guys are making me feel better.  Maybe I'll just let her do it herself if she has a problem with it :P
If it's a self cleaning oven, make sure you remove the racks before you turn on the cleaning cycle. I destroyed mine in my 12 month old oven because I didn't remove them.

  • @bullybutt No, other than his grandmother, I've been the only one to watch him. His mom just started back to work the past year.
Between the amount they pay me, and from what they've told me about his problems at school, makes me think they know he isn't right, but don't want to make any effort to help him. His older brother is so normal, so I think they assume he'll turn out like him... I have serious doubts.

My mum, my mil and my doctor have called me today. I hate everyone and have hit ignore. I have no desire to communicate with the outside world.

I could not do this. Curiosity would kill me. At least I would have to know what the Doc wanted.

@SimpleComplexity‌ my FFFC is that freezer meals are a waste of time. I hate eating thawed frozen meat. I felt compelled to make freezer meals last time because it seemed like the bumpie thing to do. I tossed most of them out, because it's not how we normally eat. And it's summer! My husband can go to the store and BBQ some meat. Screw you nasty freezer meal.
This is a good point. I was feeling like I should get it together and prepare some, but DH isn't a huge fan of leftovers and these meals just seem like leftovers. Plus...DH likes to cook, so it's not like that's a hardship for him (just might be more difficult now that we have a toddler too).

  • There has been this funky smell in our garage for about a week.  I thought maybe one of the cats had brought in one of their kills and deposited it somewhere and it was stinking the place up.  Well I was digging through our freezer looking for something when I happen to glance on top of the freezer and see this full bag of individually wrapped chicken breasts sitting there.  All the little bags were completely blown up with the chicken rotting away in them.  It is SO disgusting!  NOw that I know what it is I'm so disgusted.  I can't not look up there every time I go out there.  My horrible plan is to pretend I haven't notice, then when DH comes home just make some comment about how the garage has been smelling funny lately and make him go look for the culprit.  Because: 1) I'm just freaking lazy and don't want to have to deal with nastiness and 2) I'm pretty darn sure DH is the one who left them up there.  I can barely reach the top of the freezer and I never put anything up there.  I'm 90% sure anyway....  :-?

The Furminator is a type of deshedding brush. It's awesome.

It's amazing! You would not believe the amount of hair those things get. I recommend using it outside because if your dog is anything like the ones I grew up with it will seem like you sheered a sheep :)

I love the furminator for our German Wirehair.  Unfortunately, he despises the thing.  Our Weim loves it, but weims don't need to be furminated.

It's about a boy who is disturbed for pretty much his entire life and ends up being a school shooter. It's fictional but it's terrifying. I'm not sure how I'd feel as a parent if I received it.
He also blinds his sister and **SPOILERS** ends up killing his dad and sister. Possibly with a crossbow, it's a long time since I read it.
It'd be a pretty shocking wake-up call or else traumatise his poor Mom.

Probly not a good idea to give her it but that's what the kid you sit for reminds me of. I'll retract all that if he calms down at some point.

Didn't they make a movie from that book?
  • No idea. Probably.
  • In re: peeing in the pool - I swam in college, and my coach absolutely, positively, would not let anyone get out of the pool to pee. His response was "*insert last name here* there are 35,000 gallons of water in this pool!! You really think your piss is going to fuck it up?!?"

Now, I read that chlorine and the uric acid in one's pee actually produces toxic gases, and they are measurable in enclosed pools with lots of swimmers (that are probably peeing).

Yes, and the book was so disturbing, I can't bring myself to watch the movie
