In re: peeing in the pool - I swam in college, and my coach absolutely, positively, would not let anyone get out of the pool to pee. His response was "*insert last name here* there are 35,000 gallons of water in this pool!! You really think your piss is going to fuck it up?!?"
Now, I read that chlorine and the uric acid in one's pee actually produces toxic gases, and they are measurable in enclosed pools with lots of swimmers (that are probably peeing).
And this is why we won't be doing indoor swim lessons for our kids.

because so many people die annually from toxic gasses at indoor swimming pools. *rolls eyes*

more concerned about the increased incidence of asthma
I have got to read this book now. Yall have my curiosity going strong! On that note, I am telling serial killer boy's parents this weekend that I can no longer watch him. He burnt his mom last night on the face with a firecracker. Not an accident, he threw it at her. SO & I agreed that no amount of money is worth being in possible physical danger, ESP while pregnant. I feel sorry for whoever gets stuck watching him next.

Good for you. I really hope his parents get him some help soon and stop being in denial. Such a scary situation.

Good call.
And why in the hallibut did they let a small child have a firecracker anyway?!

I said "measurable", guys, not deadly. And this applies mostly to swim events with teams, when there are 60+ people in a pool for hours on end...
