I have a crib in the nursery but want baby to sleep in our bedroom at first ... would you use the Pack n Play, Rock n Play or a bouncer...??? Due anyday now and just trying to decide where to put everything...any advice and what is the best for sleeping and safest???
You might have to wait to see what LO decides. I had assumed our baby would sleep in the PnP in our room but she REFUSES to lay flat. The only place I can get her to sleep besides my arms is the Rock n Play, and occasionally her swing for naps.
BTW, I asked our pediatrician whether it was OK for DD to sleep in RnP and she said it was fine.
My daughter has reflux and cant lay flat so thankfully we had registered for a rock n play. Probably will depend on your baby. Do whats best and or easy for you and she how it works!
We started out in the "newborn napper" attachment of our PNP (because of the incline), then move him to the flat (elevated) part of the PNP at about week 3. He's still sleeping in his PNP at week 12 because we haven't bought a crib yet....
The baby will have some say in where he sleeps :-) You may need to try a few things and see what works. All else being equal, I would try the PNP first, because I think it would be easier to transition from that to a crib (eventually).
for the first 4 nights i put LO in a portable bassinet at the foot of my bed. i transitioned her to her crib pretty quickly though as i didn't see the sense in her waking up both me and DH. her room is only steps away from ours though.
Let LO decide. I never imagined my LO would be sleeping in his crib at 2 weeks old, but he loves it and sleeps really well in it. Before that, we had the Rock & Play. He naps in that sometimes, but not for very long.
Originally dd was going to sleep in the PNP in our room. However she will not sleep flat (possibly silent reflux) and so she sleeps in the RNP right next to the bed. Makes it easy for when she spits out the pacifier!
