  • James woke up from a nap at 1 and then didn't sleep again (except a quick 20/30 minute nap) until he fell asleep on me at 6:30. He was miserably tired. It's almost been 2 hours and he's still out in my arms. We've even relocated outside and he just falls back asleep. I'm going to let him do his thing but I sure hope it doesn't mess up nighttime.
  • @Jt7dreamz‌ and others with dark circles: Bobbi Brown concealer. Best thing ever. In is in a little pot. I don't know the name of the specific concealer but it is amazing.

    Congrats @bjd316‌
  • All this talk about condoms failing is making me feel nauseous. DH keeps saying he's going to get a vasectomy but has yet to call anyone. We are done having kids, so I am terrified of a surprise baby. The sucky part is, I want lots and lots of sex when I'm ovulating every month (stupid hormones). This may not end well :/

  • It's going to be a LONG night in my house.  We put Allison down at 8.  She's woken up 4 times so far and needed to be rocked down.  Normally we put her down and she's out...this sucks.

What happened to my amazing sleeper???

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

  • Ugh. I hate my new job. I got out at 5. There was so much traffic, I didn't get to my MIL's to pick up Isla until 7, and we didn't get home until 8. Joe is working late again tomorrow, so I get to do it again. The worst part is that Joe's working late, and he still beat us home.

Thanks @WoodShopGirl‌ thanks I'll try it. I'm using nars concealer in stick form which is fine but really it's that I never had circles before. I hate that I will be judged when I'm back in the office Monday. I know I shouldn't care but I do. I'm the 2nd female to have a kid. (50 people total) and the other csme back skinnier than she was before. And she was skinny.

I was pregnant when I started my job. On the last day before I left, everyone was saying bye. One girl said, "Can't wait til you come back. I've never seen you skinny before." What the actual fuck?

@jsmath & @CHPhotoMama‌ oh I had a PP period. So now I can start tracking things on my menstral app. But I didn't realize how close it was to my fertile days! :(( So now I'm cursing my stubbornness.

This! Only we've been using condoms. I'm just scared i'll be the 1% that it doesn't work for!

    Colton made us that 1%!
Seriously??? Crap I'm going to be paranoid as fuck now

Yup I had my iud removed because it expired was waiting a cycle to have my nes one put in. We used a condom every time and sure enough we conceived on the 4th of July!
  • @NanaCook‌ I've had one patient in 6 years as an L&D nurse who I actually believed when she said she didn't know she was pregnant (others were in denial or lying). She had a previous miscarriage and got really depressed, started using drugs more frequently and got pg about 6 weeks later. She came in with bleeding and abdo pain around full term and got a stat c-section because her huge cocaine binge caused her to blow her placenta off resulting in a huge abruption. 6 minute splash-and-slash c-section later, and baby was okay. Mom was totally in shock. Her drug use masked her symptoms.

  • I have used condoms exclusively for 12 years with no oopses. If that makes you worrywarts feel better. ;)

My H is a little paranoid and checks his condom every single time (fills it with water before throwing out). I think we had a leak one time very early on in our relationship. Never again.
  • AF made her almost perfect timing. At least she is here!

  • It's 4:40 am, I'm pumping and eating these cookies. They are in my nightstand and for some reason I'm hungry.

    I have those too. Yummy!!

  • Edit:Wanted to add...I opened up my AF tracking app for the first time in almost a year...feeling a little nostalgic!? I spent SO much time analyzing and tracking on that damn app when we were trying to conceive LO. So grateful that little monster is in the room next to us right now :)
Which AF apps do you ladies use?

Pre-bfp i used my monthly cycles app. And loved it. It tells you when you are ovulating along with your fertile week. Its free.

However, after mia my periods were still regulating in april do i had one at the begining of the month and then started another one on the 29th of april so it wouldn't let me enter the second.

So i downloaded "my period diaries" or something like that. The app square has a pic of a journal with a flower bookmark type thing. Anyway, it let ne put both in.

I have both still on my phone. I'm going to wait a few cycles to see which one gets most accurate on cycle lengths. (And i may email the makers of the first to see if there is anyway to input the second april period because i love that app.)

  • I also had Mirena put in at 8 weeks PP. Is anyone else still bleeding on and off from it? I can't tell if I had a period in their or not. Also, ladies who had mirena before, did you get periods?

  • I use fertility friend for an app. It is the best for TTC, IMO. I'm not doing anything except entering in period days now (no temps or other data), but it'll all be there when it's time to go.

I thought I wasn't going to get M the frog chair because he prob won't need it for long. But I gave in and it is great. He's in it right now in our bedroom while we get ready for the day. He doesn't like it for a long time, but long enough for us to get stuff done and have him close by but not laying down.

We also used condoms exclusively for years. I still don't know what I want to do for BC now. Still considering Mirena. Have a mini pill script I haven't filled. Since I have no desire to even see myself naked, it seems like it will still be a little while before I need to figure that out.

I haven't watched PLL either, but hear great things here and IRL. Not sure I'll ever have time for binge watching like that ever again. :/

  • I used the Fertility Friend app to conceive Isla. But I think it's only free for a month, and I'm not sure if I want to pay for it.

  • I asked our EI about the sit me up chair and she had never seen them before but was enthused. She said Will is definitely not ready for it but it will be great for him when he is. I wasn't planning on buying one but I guess I have to . . .

I found a picture of my daughter at his age and she is sitting up in a grocery cart. Makes me realize how different he is!
  • I left my phone at home. I feel disconnected from the world :(

Unless they changed it in the past year, I think only the premium version is paid? There's a free version after that month. I can't guarantee it, I still have paid time in mine from before, so I'm still in premium.

  • Really pissed. LO is 12 weeks and her father still hasn't seen her. He just gave me another excuse to why he can't come. I really want to punch him in the throat.. Repeatedly

  • @Jenstwins‌ Your story sounds a lot scarier! I believe it cause my mom told me about it. Maybe the patient kinda finally caught on & went in "pretending" to be dumbfounded? It's possible.

I use Menstral calendar premium. WELL worth the $.99! I like the feature where you can have an overview of all your past cycles and see that last March you had a 28 day cycle, but then in April it was 32 days, then a 30 day cycle etc. it also guesses your ferrule days, and predicts the day it thinks you'll actually start your period.

  • @pepperedmoth how is the copper IUD? I know a friend who bled constantly with it. Also I remember you saying something once about how you'd never let your H get a vasectomy but you never elaborated. Mine is supposed to get one but hasn't made the call yet. I was contemplating an IUD but I don't want any more hormones.

So it's probably a really bad thing that I found out there is a drive through Dunkin Donuts on the way to work from day care drop off. Mmm...cream and sugar.

@Berry30 - I have the copper IUD and I love it.  I had it for 14 years before taking it out to get pregnant (had 2 actually since you're supposed to replace after 10 years), and have one again.  I've never had any bleeding problems or cramping issues or anything.  I know everyone is different, but I love it.

ETA: Sorry @laurastarx ! Sounds like he needs someone to break his knees.  Your LO is lucky to have you.
  • Heeelloooooooo M14!! I've missed you girls!

This has been my first full week back at work and I've hardly been able to get on here at all :-( Work is going well overall, crazy busy as I feared but I still love my job and am glad to be back. What's not going well is pumping for daycare - Jake is eating 5oz at a time 4-5xs while there so 20-25oz a day just while there.....I just can't keep up. I pumped 16oz/day at work the first two weeks back to work when I was transitioning in and only here 2 or 3 days/week, plus 4-5oz overnight. This week though it's gone down by an ounce or more each day and my freezer stash is quickly dwindling. He will be 3mths on Sunday and our initial goal was to EBF to 3mths, so we made that. I just really wanted to go for longer :-( I'm really sad and stressed about it but there's not much I can do.... baby's hungry

  • I use Period Tracker Lite (it's free). I stopped taking birth control a year before planning to conceive and simply put in period start and end dates. It tells you your fertile days and ovulation date. It helped me to not get pregnant when we weren't ready, and I got pregnant the first time we tried thanks to it.

  • @Berry30‌ I love love love my copper IUD. Had one before baby for years so this is #2. I love the following things about it:

-Hormone free! I didn't like the way I felt on the pill and figure most hormonal options would do that to me.

-Nothing to do when we get it on except have fun! No matter how hard we tried to "make it part of the foreplay" condoms and the diaphragm always broke the mood for us.

-Nothing to remember to do or take! I can't forget a day/week/month/injection/whatever. I just check the strings every so often and I'm good.

-I still get my period! I know this is a UO, but I find the monthly reminder that my body is functioning correctly to be very reassuring. I also kind of like the rhythm it gives my life, like tides or something.

-Instant return of fertility! Having it out is a super quick&easy office visit and fertility returns immediately. I had mine removed on CD#3 and conceived on CD#16.

Seriously I think of my copper IUD as this amazing magical device that keeps me from having babies but doesn't change the rest of my life in the slightest. I pretty much don't know that it's there, except for the not getting pregnant thing.

I had really heavy crampy periods to begin with and I did notice that they became heavier and crampier, but only because I was looking for it. It was well within the range of what my periods are normally like, just on the heavier end of it. It was NBD for me.
