@bennieangel - she's in the RNP in her room at night and for most naps. She's been in her room since about 3 weeks old. It's the transition from sleeping angled to sleeping flat that may be the issue. When she turns her head in the RNP she snuggles into the side and she won't be able to do that safely in the crib.
RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me. You made my wedding day complete.
A. naps in his RnP and occasionally the crib. Our problem is that while he goes right down at night, he needs to be rocked to sleep for daytime naps (either that or be worn). So I am confident of success when transitioning him to the crib for the whole night, but naps are haaaaard because the crib doesn't rock! He wakes up if I transfer him.
I guess that was totally non-helpful! Honestly I am not fighting the crib-for-naps battle at all right now....just going with it.
@Jennibeanjld - it's something to try. The past few days she's definitely preferred being upright and has outright rejected the kick-n-play, which she usually loves. We play on the couch during the day and she gets what we call "flail time" on our bed in the morning when I get dressed. I'm also going to try more of her naps in the crib and see how she does before we go for the all-nighter.

We've had company tonight and it's so hard to entertain while constantly tending to LO during these witching hours. Shes acting even crazier than normal. Not napping today I'm sure didn't help.

Bicycle kicks helped us a lot (they helped with gas, too!). M loves being on her back now and we make it a game. If she's starting to get sleepy, I put her on her back on the couch and do kicks. She'll usually calm right down and relax enough to fall asleep. I can then move her to the PNP. "Flail time" could be good before nap time too so that she tires herself out.
We do drum beats while Colton is on his back. Complete with double bass pedals buts that's more for play. For sleep we do a foot massage, works every time!
Anyone else have a DH that is always late? It doesn't matter what he is doing or what time he says he'll be home, he is always late.
He came home from work today and was here 45 minutes to eat supper, then he left to go practice with his singing group. He told me they were practicing from 7:15 to 8:15. It is now 10:15 and he isn't home yet.

2 hours without a text? I'd be rather grumpy
He did text me around 8:00 and said they were running a little behind, but apparently his definition of "little behind" and mine are totally different!
When he got home I told him that always being late was really starting to piss me off because I was the one taking care of 2 kids all day without any adult interaction. He stormed off, threw his keys and wallet and went to bed. Men are such babies! And someone please tell me how he became the victim in all of this.

I think someone needs to start making mommy dinner dates with other ladies
Re: sleeping. Holland has slept overnight in her PNP from day 1 at home. We don't even have a swing. Luckily she is used to her life, and it's made transitioning to her crib easier.
@bjd316 that was here in Houston, it was only a couple of hours later. What kind of mom leaves child in car with it running, alone!! A jogger found the baby still in the car seat, alive, but in some brush.

hugs to all of the mamas returning to work and missing their LOs during work. I remember leaving DS1 and after 2-3 weeks we were in a good routine and it all just seemed normal, the drop off, pick up, pumping at work and all the prep that goes into it.
I'm still afraid of the nail clipper...I bite his off while he's sleeping. Shame me, I don't care. They never get too short that way & I don't have to be nervous about cutting him. Ha.
....... ...unfortunately 1. I quit biting my nails 20 years ago (after 20 years of biting them) and said I wouldn't bite again...and 2. My front teeth no longer touch. I was just complaining to my H the other day that I can't bite off onion skin or meat chunks in a fajita. Lol.
I'm searching high and low today...my chest looks like I was in a fight with a cat.
Ah! That reminds me DH needs to spray for bugs....we didn't do it this spring. Putting that on his to do list this weekend...yuck, yuck, yuck! I hate spiders...and totally freak out like an irrational child when I see them
first thing I did when my mom arrived (cant obviously spray with LO). I ordered the industrial shit that my old job (pest control used). I know it totally worked last year because I've hardly seen any this year, maybe next year will be zero. One can hope
@NorthernLghts I got one about a month ago. For twice my annual salary. Frankly, that scared me. ...what if I applied...what if I got it???
My salary has already doubled in the past 2 years. So if it doubled again, I'd be afraid that the first time AnYtHiNg was late that they would fire me.
Obviously I passed. And, I'm still on mat leave. I wouldn't want to go back early. Lol.
Just checking to see if I finally was able to change my screen name...been here since the beginning...also Changed my pic...I was DRFLEENER. After a year thought I should finally not have my last name on here....
My mom was holding Amelia and she spit up all over her face and in her mouth. I was laughing to the point of tears. Im a bad person
You're so not! On father's day my MIL insisted that Allison wear a dress that was far too fancy for the occasion. We were trying out size one diapers instead of newborn. Well...Allison pooped. Not on the dress. Not on the diaper cap. But all down my MIL's leg, and she was wearing white pants.
DH and I have been laughing over that one since it happened.

Oookay— how weird is this? Tell me if you've heard of this happening in modern times, or if I am normal for being weirded out by this.
My cousins wife posted her home birth story to Facebook. I love reading birth stories so I went and read it. It was all fine and dandy and par for the course labor goodness until the end. She said she tore and the midwife said "I can stitch you up, or you can lay in bed for a week." So she chose to lay in bed and not have her vagina sewn back together!
Normal? Common? Heard of? According to her Facebook updates it seems like she is back to leading a normal life, but now my thoughts are consumed with the well being of this (basically a strangers) vagina. X_X
So I took a small break from bumping this week, except for a couple of posts. We were pretty busy. School finished. Then my husband was interviewed on a talk show (it was in Arabic, so I have no idea what he said, but he looked really smart), and to make up for the lack of Mother's Day, he took me to a spa hotel for a weekend. Yay!
Oh, and I just learned a very important lesson on why to double check the ruffles on the diaper. There was just poop all down her leg and all over her clothes...but nothing in the diaper. A very valuable lesson.

Edit...so no, brilliant.
Especially if you change your avatar too.
95% of the time I'm on my phone so that's all I see.
It's only when I get on the iPad that I see signatures to make connections to names with babies.
Perhaps I'll become 'HopingToBeDoneAt41'.
Lmao.

Happy hump day.
