My mom might not be remembering this correctly, but she claims that she potty trained me by putting me in care bear panties ("you don't want to mess up your new panties, do you?") and rewarding me with 1 M&M for pee and 2 for poop. I remember the M&Ms.

If that works for DS, I am totally doing it. I'm not against food rewards in moderation.

My hair is the healthiest it's ever been and I wash 1-2 a week and blow dry every other time. I also use dry shampoo and Vidal Sassoon/generic from Sally's hair products.

I'm joining in on this WAY too late, but as a former homeschooler I need to make the Homeschool PSA that I've made my soapbox since graduating: Please homeschool your kids responsibly!!!!!

I started out as a homeschooler in First Grade in a state where the laws were VERY strict...I'm talking standardized tests, yearly portfolios that were submitted to the school board every year for approval, evaluations by licensed teachers each year, etc. These were the best years because the stricter the laws, the more serious the homeschoolers. Parents had to be qualified, and if they were not qualified there were groups and private classes for homeschoolers taught by actual teachers who were. You had to be serious and legit in actually educating your children.

And then I moved to another state where the laws weren't as strict. And basically everyone who was trying to shelter their kids, who were afraid of their own shadows, and who thought their kids needed more God than school gave them decided to homeschool their kids. And they were crazy and judgmental and negative and actually just recently made headlines over openly expressing their craziness. Which then in turn makes the world think that ALL homeschoolers are unsocial and weird and look like the Duggars (who have more freedom than half the homeschoolers I knew in my HS years) and so on and so forth.

There were drawbacks that made me wish I had gotten to experience Public School for longer, but for the most part it was a perfect fit for a nerd like me. The biggest problem I have and have ever had with homeschooling is other homeschoolers.

So to anyone considering homeschooling make sure that it is the RIGHT fit for your family and for your child, and please please please homeschool responsibly

-Not gonna touch the vaxxing issue, sane people vaccinate their kids. Period. Unless there's extenuating circumstances like health issues or what have you.

My UO - bridesmaids/groomsmen/flower girls/ring bearers should not be responsible for buying their own attire. If the bride and groom demand you wear a specific outfit (which 99.9% of weddings do) they should buy the damn thing for you. Same goes for if they demand that your hair and makeup be done by a certain person. This is brought on by the fact that I'm in 3 weddings this year - 2 are family and one is my BFF4lyfe. My FSIL picked a dress that is $300+ AFTER the discount, makeup is $50/person and who fucking knows how much it will be for my hair. Plus a suit and vest and shoes and shit for DS1 as the ring bearer. I can't say no because my brother would be crushed, nor would I want to say no. But if you're gonna be that high maintenance and demanding pay for my mother effing Demetrios dress yourself!

Re training your hair: I would recommend mat leave or while SAH. It's a long process and there were days where my hair was disgusting but I didn't have to leave the house so it didn't really matter.

I do have super thick dark hair though so it hides a lot of the yuck
