Be careful with your LOs on slides

Last night my 8 yo took LO down the slide. Her foot got caught as she went down, and she wouldn't put any pressure on it after that. We waited until this morning to see if she was any better. When she still wouldn't put weight on that leg, we took her into the pedi right away. One x-ray and a trip to Children's after, LO now has a fractured tibia and a pink walking cast.
I'd heard before that LOs arms or legs can get stuck on the slide and broken, so I was always really careful when I took her down. I'd warned DD1 and usually only let her take LO if I put her on her lap. This time I was doing something else, and she took her down anyway. :-( So just a warning to be careful. And a pic.

What did her foot get caught on? Just the side of the slide or a railing?

Poor girl, she looks like she is in good spirits though.
The same thing happened to my niece when she was a baby. Her Dad was taking her down the slide when her foot got caught.
Seems like there's a lot of slide/playground accidents lately. My son broke his wrist after falling off the top of his school's slide a couple years ago. My nephew is currently being treated for a concussion after banging his head on some playground equipment.
Be careful out there this summer!
