@torilea my MIL is in town, and also tried to give Brooke ice cream yesterday. Luckily I was able to stop her! Crazy people!
She was also complaining about their new associate pastor breastfeeding in front of her. I took it as the perfect opportunity to NIP for the first time! I used a cover, but it's still progress for me!
@torilea coffee icecram...like ice cream isn't bad enough...yeah, I'd have yelled, regardless of in lawstatus and little one would never be left alone with them. And what the neck does it matter to anyone else if it's breast milk or formula? The baby is the one eating it...they both can come out of a friggin bottle just fine....
Yesterday, the 3 of us went to my ILs house to celebrate Fathers Day. At one point, when everyone was eating desert, DH and I stepped outside to grab some stuff from the car. I went back in and FIL was shoveling coffee flavored ice cream into Ellie's mouth. Her stomach is all messed up from it today and I'm furious. I've TOLD them nothing but breastmilk. She's 3 months old FFS. I'm so pissed.
If Ellie wakes up during the night, phone them each time and say (loudly) 'That COFFEE ice cream you gave her is not sitting well! The CAFFEINE in it seems to be keeping her awake!" I bet a few 3am phone calls will make them rethink feeding her garbage. But I'm bitchy today, so grain of salt and all that.
I'm bouncing a screaming baby on my lap while trying to go number 2, while my husband watches tv downstairs because "You know I can't do anything to calm her down." For as much as I love this man, he sometimes can be such an idiot.
DH has a man cold. These are his words- "I feel terrible" I haven't heard him cough, sneeze, sniffle, or anything! Oh, and he felt well enough to go target shoot out at his parents house tonight, and when he got home he still feels "terrible" and says he's not going to work tomorrow if he feels like this in the morning! Joy...I'll have 2 babies to take care of!!

my mom is retired but "doesn't want to be a nanny" . Gee thanks $1k later every month...blegh. Instead she basically carts around kids from some other family for free most days of the week, because they only have one car.
It is her time, I don't get to decide for her or be upset that she doesn't want to help out. But then she complains that we won't leave LO at her house so all her friends can come over... WTF?
MH only gets to see her for like an hour each night. We kind of like spending time with her...

MIL works 2 days a week. FIL is retired. When I had DS1 they asked to take him 2 days a week when I returned to work. Then she decided she only wanted him 1 day a week. Then she started cancelling that day as well. So she stopped taking him at all...then I hired a sitter because I had to go to the office those two days. Eventually she complained that I never let her babysit. b-(
She officially retires this fall. She wants DS1 once a week...but doesn't want to have both kids when I return to work next spring. I will still need a sitter...
