My two month old is Hadley, so I obviously like it! I got a lot of negative feedback here about it though, so don't be surprised if you do too
It kind of confirmed for me that I liked it though, because I still wanted to use it despite the input. I think it's cute, not super common but not too weird, and I think it will grow up well with her too.
My older one is Carter, and I liked how they go together too, similar-ish to Cooper!
I hate it with a passion and find it to have no redeeming features at all except that it isn't made up.
This. But knowing for sure it's not made up does help me accept/tolerate it a lit more than I did when I first heard it. Please just find a non filler middle name. I think I've heard of a million Hadley Graces.

Thanks for all the opinions! It seems pretty mixed. I am surprised though by the fact that so many people hate it. I do get mixed reactions for my sons name too. I will have to continue to think about it.
It makes me think of an old man....probably because it was my husbands grandpas name. I don't get the appeal. But I'm generally not a fan of boys names for girls.
I dislike it because it seems like such a "twenty-teens" trend name. I know at least two babies named Hadley. If you name your daughter Hadley, her name will have no meaning beyond "my parents thought it sounded cool." She'll look her name statistics up and realize that she got her name due to popular trends at the time. I like names that have more meaning than that.
My husband and I both have '80s trend names and we're hoping to do better for our kids.
See, I think this might have been the case 20 years or so ago but now it's just another trendy 2010-ish name that is inexplicably popular. I don't think "prep" at all when I hear it - just 'the masses"

See, I kind of disagree that it will definitely end up just being a trendy name. Yes, it has gotten more popular the last few years. But in 2013 it was #111. To compare, name 111 in 1983 was Sabrina. I don't really think of Sabrina as being a super 80s name, like Jennifer, Jessica, Ashley, etc. So I'm not sure if it will end up sounding like just a 2010s name like Sophie or something might.
Also, it might have meaning for some. As an English major and big reader, I read a biography in college about Hemingway's first wife, which was where I first heard the name and just liked the way it sounded. It also means heather field, which might be nice if you were paying tribute to someone named heather. Not that I was, but...you could I guess!
Just trying to defend a name a little that gets a lot of negative reviews over here

The rank of a name in a single year isn't as significant as its rise and fall over time. Trends happen over the course of years. Sabrina's popularity peaked in 1997 at #53. If anything, it's a '90s name. Hadley is at 111 and still trending upward. It's trendy in the sense that it suddenly hit the top 1000 recently and is still rising. I'm not knocking trendiness in and of itself; my DS is Lincoln, which by those standards is also trendy. Nonetheless, we used it because we personally find it meaningful. Whatever other people think, I'm okay with that. I'm just saying, anyone who says Hadley is trendy has a point, and as with Lincoln (which I expect will peak sometime this decade or next and eventually decline in popularity), it will be predictable that a Hadley was born in this decade, whether or not you have more substantial reasons for using the name.
As for me, Hadley's NMS and there are a thousand other names I find more feminine and appealing, but it works as a sibset with Cooper.

I wouldn't side-eye Hadley if I heard it in real life, but I don't think it's a pretty or feminine name at all. I do like Cooper and think it works as a sibset.
I like it after reading The Paris Wife (novel about Ernest Hemingway's first wife). I wouldn't use it myself, but I don't mind it on others. It goes well with Cooper.

True. Good points!

I actually like it a lot (despite myself), and I do think it's great with Cooper.
It is trending up though, so just be aware of that. I think it will crak the top 50 before it peters out.
