I'm 33 and put one space after a period. Why would I put two?! (Although, I've heard of this and have been baffled by this before!)

36, used to do two spaces as that's what I was taught MANY years ago. I've recently read it was changed to one.

I put both, because when I was in school, I was taught 2 spaces. But I work in the publishing field and the new norm is 1 space, so I have been gradually switching to that. It depends on whether I'm thinking about it or not. Oh, and I'm 30.

28 (almost 29), 1 space. i clearly remember being taught 2, but sometime in the last 10 years or so, it got dropped officially, and i'm lazy, so 1 definitely works for me.

APA is 2 spaces.

Used to do two, now one; I'm 26. It was two previously due to needing to visually see a break from one sentence to another, but now that we no longer use typewriters, it's not necessary.

MLA recommends one space while APA changed to recommending two in their 6th edition or so.

Edit I'm effing 26, not 23..le sigh.

It think it depends, too, on what you're doing. I'm not sure about MLA vs APA, but in the typesetting world it used to be that each letter and punctuation took up the same amount of space. And so to be able to tell between sentences, you put two spaces. Now, we have such a variety of fonts available that are developed to be spaced more realistically (i.e. give more space for a "w" than an "i") that the tides have shifted to 1 space. But again, that's me coming from the publishing world, not a guidelines world.

I did 2 on my typewriter. But since we upgraded to a fully electronic keyboard, I do 1. And, 2 on my phone and it inserts a period for me. Lazy bones jones over here.
