Omg, you guys. Hot Grocery Guy responded to my post this morning ;;)
His first email was really weird. Something about acting motivated by fantasy and presuming the grocery guy wasn't a horrible person or whatever. It was weird. The first name matched Hot Grocery Guy, but the first and last name matched this folk/rock singer in my city (not the same person), so I wasn't sure. I responded anyway, and called him out on his bullshit.
So he replied again and basically said, "Um, you did check the name on the email, right? HELLO, IT'S ME. HOT GROCERY GUY."
I hyperventilated a little, not gonna lie lol. I finally responded to him and am waiting on him to demonstrate he knows who I am. Y'all, what have I gotten myself into...

that's it. Now I'm gonna live vicariously through you. This is so exciting
And kudos to you for "putting yourself out there". Enjoy the adventure that is to come!
Oh, and one other thing, now that you are in the actual "meeting in person" stage. Do you have someone local that you can check in with? When I lived in the big city, I had a group of close girl friends and we all watched out for each other. Someone you can let know where and when you will meet HGG and when you expect to be home. If things don't go well, you could sneak off to the restroom, call/text this friend to call/text you in 10 min, when you are back at the table with HGG (Hello? Oh no! and you need me to help you ASAP? Of course I'll be right there). Someone you check in with when you get home, no matter how late it is. Someone who would be at the restaurant across the street from the coffee shop you are meeting HGG at, if that helped you feel more comfortable. (I never took my girl friends up on this, but they certainly offered). I don't intend to be a "Debbie downer" on your excitement, but it can be a big, bad world out there and I think it is important to spend a bit of time to prepare a few contingency plans, just in case.
Ok, off my soap box and the end of my boring personal safety lecture. ENJOY!!!!!
