I'm doing the colors grey, robin's egg blue, and red. I'm painting the walls of the room grey, I'm chalk painting my old dresser in robin's egg blue and putting red knobs on it. I'm putting up red curtains. I found sheets in both grey and robin's egg blue at Target so I REALLY want a red quilt or blanket for her bed (toddler bed, she's tiny so we won't move to twin size yet) and I can't find one anywhere.
Basically the room will be blue and grey, with touches of red in the curtains, dresser knobs, and her blanket. I'm contemplating these shelves from Ikea also:
I'm so crabby. It's sad that vacation: a) isn't really a vacation because I'll still be taking care of the boys, and b) becoming stressful because of all of the long lost relatives I have to see. Growl grumble grumble.
DH just requested that we go somewhere that we don't have to see any family or friends.
I haven't been home in 3 years and haven't seen my dad in almost 2 years. It definitely sucks that our vacations are to Wisconsin/home/family, but I'm not sure we'd take vacation otherwise. I think we're doing a long weekend in the Georgia mountains again this fall, so at least I have that to look forward to (even if it is with my in laws (they rock, so it's cool)).

I totally forgot there is a primary election today until I got my daily news email. Now I have to figure out if I can get out of work early and head to the polls. VA is a dem state, so this will be our candidate for Congress in the fall.

DS has become the king of backtalk. I'm not being fair to him, I'm being rude to him, blah blah blah. Meanwhile, he just really doesn't want to do whatever I'm asking of him, such as get dressed, go to bed, let me brush his teeth. I'm exhausted, DH says I "engage" him too much (making me want to punch him right in his smug mouth too).
This is how my daughter and I were getting, then I started doing the 1-2-3 magic technique and it really helped me not to engage in lame 4yr old arguments! It's really helped me adjust my perspective on parenting her.
When I'm not PG, I go to a studio opened by an instructor that I have basically followed around the area. His classes are so badass, it's like doing cardio up until the cooldown.
Calorie burn for his 90 minute classes were anywhere from 650-800. And he had the best playlists, and never played the typical ambient, instrumental yoga music.
Name update. I just talked to DH on the phone, we are headed to Yosemite on Sunday, it's his 30th birthday trip (I am a cougar). And we decided to flip a coin to decide on Baby #4's name. One side is Lennon and one side is Elliott. We'll flip it as soon as we enter the Yosemite Valley. It's DH's favorite place in the world. And since we can't seem to agree on this, I'm cool with letting the fates decide.

Ooooh excited to find out! PS I will be working at the children's hospital off of highway 41 (the one that looks like a castle) on Sunday, so if you're driving that route, wave to me as you pass by!

Sounds like a good way to decide. Even though I'm a baby so I would agree to something like this, but still be attached to the name I like and want it even if I lost the coin flip.
Also I used the Monistate chaffing gel on my face today like some of you recommended. A-mazing! My face is usually oily by now in my t-zone. Barely anything today! I'm so excited.
I've always wanted to try it but where is it located in say, Target or Walgreens? @Pokedot

I actually ordered it on Amazon. I never checked stores so I have no clue. Sorry!

DD doesn't have enough words to talk back. The extent of her defiance right now is "NO!" followed by crying. DS, however, is a shrewd, sharp 4-year-old, who often seems to be outwitting me.
Yep. Aedan is all "No no no"
Brody is: "Mom you don't know EVERYTING..." followed by trying to prove that I don't in fact know everything. Which ends with the fact that I don't know where Kung Fu Panda lives. (Though I thought I did...)
I just spent the last 20 minutes looking at the wedding registries of one of my childhood/high school best friends. I wasn't invited to the shower, since I'm his friend, and not hers. They registered for $840 worth of bedding. The fitted sheet & the flat sheet were each $220. The pillow cases were $120.
They got a knife set that was on sale for $466.
I know my friend has worked for the governor for the last few years but I guess I didn't realize they had so many well to do friends/family on her side.

$120 for pillow cases?! Holy hell! That is crazy.

I think of marisa every time I see anything flamingo. I try to tag on IG then I remember you don't have one. If you do, please let me know. I cannot believe how much flamingo stuff I see.
We even picking the flamingo for our balloon animal at the carnival this weekend. By we, I mean, I picked it!
Now that Sophia has please and thank you down (well, we still have to constantly remind her to use them, but when we do, she does,) DH has started to teach her to say "yes, sir" or "yes ma'am" when we ask her to do something. It really has nipped back talk in the bud because instead of saying a long-winded "don't talk back to mommy," we can just tell her to say "yes ma'am". It's a bit of an adjustment for me because it strikes me as super southern, and I was raised in New York, but it really does make for a very polite kid, so I'm liking it.
Not to be all "just wait" but back talk from a 3-4 year old is very different than a 1.5 year old. James has been saying sir and ma'am for a long time (we live in the South) but it hasn't stopped the attitude challenges.
@hmp1 Oh I know, I'm just happy it's working for now!
