What's happening, ladies?

I just got an out of office reply saying a local business we use for web consulting will be closed all week in honor of Joe Nuxhall, the youngest player in MLB. WTAF?

I am taking DD to the dentist this afternoon bc it appears that she has an extra tooth coming in between her left front tooth and the lateral incisor next to it. So weird.

I just found out I will be covering the duties of a co-worker (in a completely different department). Best part her supervisor isn't exactly sure what she does, how to access files, data etc. and has decided I can just figure it out and what ever I think is best will be fine. My direct supervisor is pissed but, my contract does say duties as assigned so...... I guess it'll be an interesting few weeks.

I already made another supervisor mad this morning. I also dropped my soda and it burst all over everything. So its going to be a "good day".

Also, our entire agency was crippled by a transformer blowing up on Friday. Literally almost 1000 employees could do nothing because we are so web based and all of our servers were down. Now people are being pissy because things aren't "on-time".

DH and I aren't happy. It's weird. Neither of us are happy, but we don't actually do anything about it. Yesterday was the first day we've liked each other all day in weeks. I know this happened while I was pg with Nancy, so I'm not concerned. I don't want to leave him or anything like that, I just find him so much more annoying than usual. I cannot for the life of me understand why it takes him 300x longer to do something than it takes me, or why he has such a hard time doing more than 1 thing at a time.

Life was way easier before we had kids.

I'm trying to get up the energy to talk to my 11 o'clock client who is pregnant and doing tons of drugs. One of the hardest parts of my job. Blech.

This thread is aptly titled. Our house was madness getting out the door and I'm starting to lose it with our painter who talks way too much, takes a long lunch, and works about 8-2:30 (I worked form home 2 days last week, won't be doing that again.) He's done about 1.5 rooms in one week!! He took off last T/Th. WTF? I want my house painted because shit is everywhere piled becasue I can't set up any rooms until it's painted. I sent him a text saying "you'll have everything but the kitchen done this week, right? I'm starting to lose it in the mess!" and the fact that he didn't reply makes me think he didn't like that message but too bad - my house is chaos and I'm paying you to get this done!! (not hourly, thank God!)

I filmed the kids yesterday to make a Father's Day video. I haven't watched the footage so I hope it is usable. I'm trying to figure out what song to use now. I really love the song I used last year because it was fitting and one of DH's favorite bands (Teach Your Children Well by Crosby Stills Nash and Young). The pressure!

DH is like this too. He can't multitask. I actually said something one day becuase with his schedule changing (only working 15 days a month) he's going to have B a lot more. He loves spending time with him but he can't concentrate on more than 1 thing without panicking. So doing a project and hanging with B is just too much. I get a million things done while I'm home with him and I can't wrap my brain around the fact that he just can't. It's so irritating!

I've never been to Ikea. The closest one is in Illinois. I won't be going there anytime soon.

We've decided to hire an intern for the 6 weeks this summer. Mainly he's going to be filing and doing all the dirty work. I can't wait for that project to be done and I don't have to do it.

I was supposed to have two dental appts back to back this morning, so my mom was coming to watch dd. She got caught in traffic because it was down pouring & called me to say I should probably call to push back my appt.

So I called & they couldn't push back the appt. They also said I couldn't do the second appt without doing the first appt for whatever reason, so I had to reschedule both appts.

As soon as I got off the phone, my mom showed up...with more than enough time for me to have gotten there ontime. I knew that was going to happen. I was so pissed! I coulda called back to say never mind, I am coming, but I was already bitchy to the lady on the phone, so I just left it as is.

Fucking Mondays, man! Is it Friday yet??

@melody921 don't freak out. I know you will though because I did too, ha. So, the regular dentist found it between his two front teeth when doing routine X-rays when he was 3.5-ish. She said it's VERY common (there's a real name for it that I don't' recall) and that he had to have it removed sooner than later so that it wouldn't screw up his grown up teeth up there waiting to come down. I freaked out then after several months (whoops), made the appointment at the oral surgeon to have it looked at per the pediatric dentist's recommendation.

We went to the oral surgeon and they did 3D Xrays last February when he was just under 5 years old. They showed me and it was like a giant pointy shark tooth right smack between the 2 front ones. They said he had to be at least 5 (which he turned at the end of March) before having it pulled due to the type of anesthesia used to completely put him under for the surgery. More freaking out.

However, I wanted it done sooner than later because we've had so much going on with our move and I didn't want it done close to him starting Kindergarten in the fall since he's already had enough to adjust to. So, I scheduled it for Memorial Day weekend and made it a long weekend to be with him.

It was honestly no big deal. Putting him under was the worst part but then the surgery was honestly 5 minutes and he had dissolvable stitches. He was crying and in a bad mood for an hour total after and then was fine. He was totally fine/healed within a couple of days. Also, they took out his front right tooth because apparently it was already loose with no roots, so bonus of his first real lost tooth being done via surgery. He got $20 from the tooth fairy since it was a major thing and he's happy as a clam with his one front tooth out and unfortunately back to sucking his thumb, damn.

So, freak out, because that's normal, but if she has to have it removed it's normal, easy and probably common (at least the front middle one is...). Good luck!!!

The WORST!!!! I hate this clause. Too bad it is in almost every govt contract. Every project I have been on has had me picking up miscellaneous duties. At least I know that it is because I do good work and not punishment, but it sure does suck.

Amen!! It's tricky though because he's the partner of a former co-worker. He's done work for us before faster and I think he has no other work lined up and since I said "by the 4th of July" he's taking his time. I guess I shot myself in the foot? We're not "friends" per se, but he's not quite just a "worker" since we've been using him since 2012 and he's my former co-worker's partner. He actually just invited us to said partner's 40th Bday...and we're not really on that level, but luckily we already had tickets to see a comedian that night anyway so I had a legit excuse not to go.

DH usually works from home but I told him to stay out all day and work from a coffee shop or something because he will stop and tell these long stories instead of painting!

Now shut up and paint my house dude!! :shaking fist:

@yogitea01, if you're going to the Oshkosh outlets, Old Navy had 40% off the whole store last week, including clearance. :-) I don't know that it's still happening, but I got some tanks and shorts for Nancy for less than $2 each!

I was looking at that. They have a special this month on the deluxe and large utility tote. If you spend $35 you get $25 off one of them. I thought between that and the utility bag we'd be set!

I have this hanging organizer with a bunch of pockets that attaches to the back of the seat in my car, which is super handy for entertaining the kids for road trips and general car organization. I also have this cube thing that fits between the 2 carseats and it attaches to the middle seatbelt, great for storing snacks and toys. And the lid flips/reattaches and becomes a snack tray!

I know this is weird, but I love their gift card sets. They have all kinds of cards for $1 a piece and they are way cuter than dollar walmart cards. I have a set in my desk and there is always a card for every occasion and it saves me a lot of time not having to go to the store to buy a card for this, that, or the other.

I used my lunch break to get my eyebrows done at the Benefit Brow Bar at Ulta. They do such an awesome job.

Also, the new cleaning lady is coming today.

Somehow these two things are making *me* feel accomplished today.

SD has a play tonight and a gymnastics show Wednesday night. I hate that they schedule this stuff right at dinner time. This is one of those times that I wish we lived closer to family. It's a 45 minute ride each way, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up feeding my kids in the trunk of my car (hey, we will make an adventure out of it!).

I know lots of people who worked for them part time and really liked it. Please make sure to ask your DH if it's true or false that they're not supposed to make left hand turns...I've been hearing this for years, but no one I know who worked for UPS ever drove for them.

I love the snack tray idea! I'll have to look for that. I saw the organizer and it's super cute but I think I can find one cheaper when we flip him FF. Thanks so much!

I went to Bath and Body on lunch. They are having their big semi-annual sale and I needed room refresheners, soap and DH needed some body wash. I spent $50 buying all the things and saved $80. Win in my book. DH probably won't see it that way.
