BTW...the correct abbreviation of because is b/c not BC. It bugs me. You abreviate whole words with a capital letter, not parts of a word. Like without is w/o.

A late confession.... The new LKH Merry Gentry book arrived in the mail a couple days ago and I spent my entire day off yesterday reading it cover to cover with DS watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse most of the time. Good book.

Here's a confession, I got my username from a Merry Gentry book way back when and now I don't really care for it that much (~*~black madness~*~ seemed so cool at the time) but I've used it for so many accounts, I can't be bothered to change it now.

I love that you got your name from her books. :-)

For any fans keeping up with these books.... she finally has her babies!!! Waiting two years from finding out she got pregnant to having her babies was brutal.

I'm falling out of love with LKH's writing style...the last 15 pages or so anyways wrap everything up so nicely and quickly (annoying), but up till then it's always an intriguing read. I want the next book now!!

@SmileyGirl18‌ I said I had 3 boxes of gender neutral stuff which is little to nothing. Its all 0-6 month.

I just realized, we didn't ask. Are you registered for the shower that you had to have, but didn't want and are only having it because you mommy is making you? Did you also nag and and annoy your SIL enough to get her on board?

No I'm not registered, and mommy isn't "making" me I'm doing it to get her off my back. My SISTER was the one planning and passed it off to my mom to go shopping.

at this point.. wouldn't it just be easier to not have any shower? I mean I get your mom really wants to have this shower.. but jeesh so much drama and annoyance on your end. It seems to be MORE of a hassle for you to have this shower now. Just cancel the whole damn thing. ALL THE PROBLEMS ARE SOLVED. And for the wedding... just don't go. Explain how it' not practical for you to go at X months pregnant. you can say your doctor doesn't want you traveling after a certain point in your pregnancy. Any reasonable person would understand.

eta- OOH OOH OOH even better! Tell your sister, that wants to host this so badly to have a 'shower' AFTER the baby is born. That way you can find a new date that works for everyone...

I'm having a hard time following the timeline -- to summarizes:

- "OP" wanted a shower then didn't want a shower -- back who knows when.

- Then people asked multiple times to host a second shower for her and she said no.

- Then b/c hubby and Mother say that a boy cannot wear "girl" clothes she HAS to have a shower.

- So "OP" after much-much pressure from others agreed to have a second shower because she is having a boy.

- But then "OP" said she would have had a second shower if she had a girl this time too.

- Now "OP" is mad that said shower is being passed along to her Mother, which "OP" agreed to just to get her Mother off her back to begin with?

- I may recall wrong -- but I *think* "OP" said she does not have any larger items (stroller, car seat, etc) that are not "girl" colors -- but now has no registry for said items, which is shocking she wouldn't have a registry seeing she really wanted a shower to being with and now is having one. Weird!

So confusing!! I would 100% tell them all to **** off and that there will be no shower -- PERIOD. And that if my husband and I so strongly believe that our boy cannot wear girl clothes or ride in a pink car seat that we will go buy boy clothes/gear ourselves because that is what parents do.

I don't give two shits about baby shower etiquette. As long as you say 'thank you' I'm of the opinion, do whatevs.

I'll be honest, I only brought up the 'hamie down' thread in hopes that @ambershaw512 would flip her shit again, but here's my late confession: I am really kinda impressed that she hasn't this time with all the shit @smileygirl18 is laying down. Disappointed, sure. But impressed.

@MMason12‌ DH had nothing to do with it other than the fact he doesn't want his son wearing girl clothes. My mom was the one behind the "you have no boy clothes you need a shower" yes I wanted a shower originally for boy or girl and I changed my mind about it. But since I'm having a boy there's been more pressure from my mom to have the shower. I'm not mad that my mom is doing the shower I'm mad that my sister is blowing off my shower to go shopping and pushed the shower to my mom to finish planning. I don't have a registery BC I don't even want the shower. So if ppl bring gifts great if not oh well.
