1) Wrong. The thing that makes it look like a "G" is part of the pic, not the letter. If you look at it, it clearly says CRL.

Totally agree with you but in my experience with this webiste/app (sorry in advance to the person who gets irritated when this is called an app...................), many women that post on this site thrive off making others feel bad. Yes that is very similar to high school bullying. It's not even worth trying to argue with these kind of people. I'm sure your post will receive a ton of attacks as well as mine

Agreed that it says CRL, which if you google acronyms on an ultrasound comes up immediately as one of the most commonly used acronyms. With pics of other ultrasounds that look exactly the same.

But we're bitches because she was too lazy to google. took me five seconds. sorry forgot she is a poor teenager and I have to baby her because she is young. She is about to become a mother, she will need to be somewhat self reliant and not depend on the opinions of internet stranger.

Andplusalso when they do put "girl" or "boy" on your US it's typically on a shot of the genitals not the whole baby. Asking google, the ultrasound tech or better yet your OB will save you from all of us meanie poo poo heads in the future.

To address the first part...I'm just skimming but I didn't see anyone call her stupid. I'm pretty sure the question was answered, that is CRL, no you can't tell the sex yet, that picture doesn't even include genitalia anyway, ect. Maybe you don't agree with the tone it was presented in, neither did OP, but you're not the board police and not all of us are sickeningly sugar coated. Real life yo. Again, where was the "You are stupid" card thrown?

Secondly, the 19 year old chica wasn't the OP. It was her mother. A grown ass woman. Chica didn't arrive till this morning. And either way, if you can't figure out google to answer if you can determine the sex of the baby by 10 weeks then good luck with the interwebs. Is there some sort of contract on other sites that you can't answer questions like a real person and you have to be 100% positive and encouraging all the time? Why on earth do people expect that on this public forum??

@sarahpausche‌ @stefanieserpico‌ I have posted a bunch of things that people disagree with. The part about being an adult comes in when you realize that in the real world, not everyone thinks like you. People have different opinions, or in this case, are trying to pass on knowledge. No one responded by name calling, except OP. I've been called dumb and a few other things on TB, but it doesn't bother me. Suck it up. It's the internet.

ETA I've never seen true bullying on TB.

This isn't a medical advisory service, it's a social group. In my group of IRL friends if someone asks a silly questions we give them a bit of a hard time so they realize how silly their question was. Then they don't get butthurt and we all remain friends, laughing and joking, commiserating and puppies and rainbows.

I assumed it was the same here. If I have a stupid question, I like to preface my post with "this is a stupid question, but..." and people are free to laugh at my silliness. mock me, whatever. I don't call them bitches because I don't get emotionally attached to my posts.

this is the way I approach these boards and magically I don't get my feelers hurt and when I do get a light flaming, I move on. It helps that I wear jumbo sized BGP and that I don't call someone a bitch for serious. Also I only post questions I can't find the answer to on google. If you still want to white knight for OP, take ten seconds and google "acronyms on an ultrasound". First result, yep there it is.

Keep calling us snarky or mean or bitches or bullies (though I think you aren't using this word appropriately, but that's my opinion). We generally aren't hurt by names over an internet forum since we give and we can take. However I refuse, to sugar coat my answers. I don't sugar coat answers for my nephews or my daughter, I don't see why I have to do it for grown ups that are soon to be/already responsible for a life. The world won't hold your hand and gently break reality to you. Pick up a book on pregnancy and FFS speak to your Doctor. If however you refuse to do any research for yourself, then yes you will get all my eye rolling sarcasm. Just my thoughts.

Sidenote and somewhat related. DH and I had a conversation about TP (teenage problems) yesterday. When you're young you think the world is against you and everyone is doing you a disservice so you get all hot headed and loud mouthed when the issue is really not an issue at all. I remember flipping off a person who was yelling at me while I was driving once, only to realize later they were trying to tell me I had a flat tire.

Thats what I'm guessing is going on with the 19 year old, didn't like what she heard so naturally we're all against her. As far as her mother or the white knight I have no excuses for.

Serious question for the white knights and all the people who feel these ladies have been "bullies", do you read more than one or two threads to get a feel of the board before you jump in with your two cents? There are lots of really awesome ladies on this board! I don't post all that often, but the regs around here have me laughing daily, and there is definitely support to be found on the bump, just not when you post about what the sex of your baby is at 10 weeks!! (Hasn't this already been covered like 15651560654 times on the bump/Dec 14 anyway?!)

I have seen some mean stuff on TB. I have seen mean stuff on other boards too. I can honestly say this BMB, at least now, is pretty tame and supportive. Sure there's a little snark but I don't think anyone was bullying.

When the 19 year old came in guns blazin' and name calling, I still didn't find it that bad because she is, well, 19.

But the white knight? Seems like an extreme reaction for this particular thread. Perhaps she is butt-hurt over another thread or something else going on in her life and projecting? Cause it just doesn't fit...

Again this BMB is tame by other board standards and I for one, am thankful for that.

Thanks for keeping me entertained on my boring Friday afternoon at work! But honestly, regardless of the fact that 10 weeks is impossible to find out the gender, don't you think if they did miraculously figurethat out they would tell you and not just put an illegible note on the u/s? I don't know about everyone else but at all my u/s they have been extremely nice and talked to me about what they are doing. I have to assume that determining the gender is not something they would forget to mention.
