Before I knew I was pregnant my hubby took me to Portland to see an MSI concert. They have been a favorite band of mine since middle school. I had seen them live twice before but the last time was in my sophomore year of high school. During this awesome concert I had 2 very strong (and overly priced) mixed drinks and after my 2nd drink I suddenly felt the need to jump into the middle of a mosh pit while the band was playing one of my all time favorite songs by them. The song was called "stupid mother f***k*r" and the irony of this is not lost me. Just as i'm about to escape this insane mosh pit that I stupidly threw myself into I was elbowed in the gut by somebody and actually threw up on them!
Fast forward two weeks later i'm sitting in the bathroom with a BFP pregnancy test freaking out because lord knows how much i probably damaged by poor baby that night of the concert and wondering how pregnant I am. (It's a really huge shocker because I was also taking the BC pill).
Fast forward to my first doctors appointment with my OB just last week and I get to see my perfectly healthy blip and it's heart beat in an ultra sound. The Dr dated that my baby was 7 weeks 6 days and that made it 2 weeks when I went to the concert. I'm so relieved my little blip is okay and it makes me wonder what other questionable things moms-to-be on here did before knowing they were pregnant?

I agree, humanity went on for many years without prenatal care, so it isn't the lack of the ultrasounds, checkups etc that blows my mind, but its more that someone could go that long without knowing they are pregnant.
I agree that humans are not as fragile as we are led to believe. I do think though, that it someone had a human being in then, they would start to figure this out long before they went into labor.
I just cannot wrap my mind around this! That being said, I do understand that everyone's body is different and not everyone is as in tune with their body as others. I got pregnant years ago and it was unplanned and I was on the pill. I knew within a few days that I was pregnant. I took a test and it was negative, but I just knew I was pregnant. I could tell something was off in my body. I took another test the next day and sure enough, it was pregnant. This pregnancy was similar, except that I was TTC so it was not a surprise, but I knew the day that I conceived that I was pregnant, despite the doctor telling me I couldn't get pregnant without fertility treatment and despite it being our first month of trying. I knew I was pregnant.
So its hard for me to understand how someone could not know they are pregnant for so long into their pregnancy, but I also realize that my experience is just that. Mine. We are all different. Its just difficult for me to grasp. Does that make sense?
HAHA Drank like a sailor for a gf birthday party, my night included shots and we ended up ordering drinks that we remember from college ended up being blue motorcycles, long islands, four horsemen. Hungover for 2 days I swear. Then Happy hour the next week.
I week later opps four weeks preggers.
