I would also like to say, that yes I know enough about penises to get me through the last 26 years. I also apparently know how to use one to get pregnant.
BUT in my 26 years, I have never had to lift one to clean shit off the balls, nor worried about what direction it pointed when dressing the person, or tried to get the said persons fist to unclench when he was squeezing it so hard that he was hurting himself and couldn't figure out how to let go. (Oh wait..)
The best part about a webbed penis is it's always pointed down.
Probably over share... I think I'm part cow. Wtf is this?!?! Here's my 25 minute pump session from this morning.... Over 17oz.
woah. nice. dumb question but how do you get a new bottle to fill while you're pumping? Like when one fills up but the other isn't full yet, and you still have a ways to go?
@CaseAndDave sorry you didn't get it. This happened to me last week After they asked me to fly up there with my newborn instead of doing a phone interview. Then they called before my plane even landed to say they went wit someone else.
@kirotea I would go with your mommy instinct. With my first they wanted me to add olive oil to his bm bottles b/c he kept weighing in At the 0%. We never bothered because he was happy and healthy and was gaining steadily, just at his own rate. They also wanted us to start rice cereal at 4 months and put butter in it! I was half expecting them to tell me to cook him up some bacon and cheesy grits.
Long story short, he is just fine today and now in 30-40%.

25 minutes?! How long is everyone else pumping? I only do 10... And really I usually don't have milk coming out after 5-7. This week I'm starting hitting the letdown button at 5 minutes to try to help get more.
@Jt7dreamz good for you following your instinct and hope you can find someone much better! @CaseAndDave I'm really sorry about the job!! That is really disappointing but hoping something bigger and better is right down the road for you somehow.
I'm at such a loss about daytime sleeping. Sometimes if I can get her asleep and then into the swing just right, she'll sleep upwards of three hours. Today every time I get her asleep and put her in the swing she wakes up. Eventually there will be some pattern and consistency right?
1. I pump MAX in a whole day 20oz and usually only pump 18. I am totally jealous of the 17oz in one session.
2. I pump for 20min each time (6 times a day, every 4hrs) and hit the letdown at 10min.
3. Recently I have been pumping more at work than home...does this mean I am more stressed at home than work? Something is wrong here!
Married 11/23/11, TTC starting 10/12, BFP#1 11/30/12, Adoption of stepson finalized 03/19/13,Loss of our daughter at 20w4d due to incompetent cervix 03/27/13, BFP#2 06/28/13, DS2 born 3/1/14.
The cable guy was scheduled to come to my house between 4 and 6. Isla fell asleep, so I decided to nap with her. The guy just showed up at 2:45. So much for "sleeping when baby sleeps." I'm tired.
@bennieangel apparently they stole the febreeze and he went after them. Then it turned in to an argument about cussing in front of the child in the car and a pregnant girl smoking lol.
@LakeCountryGal yah, I get jealous of her toys and swing sometimes when she talks to them more than me. ;( mom problems
I was legit just getting bummed because I was sitting in front of her in her bouncer talking to her and showing her toys and she started only looking at her toys and not me!
I'm seriously in awe of those of you who find time to pump during the day while at home with their LO, esp those of you with more than one. By the time she finishes eating and I get her down for a nap and set myself up, she's awake again or maybe I am just doing too much during the day with her. I find about an hour at the end of the day and that's what I set aside for night feedings. I'm not finding the time to pump day milk. Hopefully I'll actually be able to pump something when I go to work on Monday. Seriously, all I want to do right now is pump but LO won't stay asleep unless she's on me and when I put her down after half an hour she woke up and started crying and now I am too.
Awww, I'm sorry! I feel like I'm constantly either feeding or trying to get LO down. Even if/when I can get her down, it's a miracle if I can keep her asleep putting her in the swing.
I just had an entire cup of coffee and watched TWO episodes of Scandal while editing photos without Sophie waking up from her nap! #smallvictory
Gtg. She's waking up and I heard her poop from the other room a few minutes ago. :-/
I know you do it professionally, but I was wondering if you had any tips or resources to learn photo editing. I have a DSLR and got Lightroom 5 recently. I'm pretty good with exposure but white balance is my personal hell and I don't really know what all the other stuff is.
Thanks @Sanibel21 I'm just feeling really down on myself in general lately. I power pumped last night and got a total of 2oz in an hour. I get out of the house for things like new moms groups or breastfeeding support groups but then I feel like I don't have the time during the day to pump but i like going to these things. Or I am home, LO goes down and I make myself a meal or try and rush to get some laundry done. I hear about people pumping 3 to 4 oz at a time or having hundreds of ounces and I feel like a failure because I don't even come close to that. LO is still up every 3hrs or so, so once she goes down, if I pump, I do it for half an hour, get ready for bed and its now an hour after LO went down so I get 2hrs of sleep if I am lucky and when you don't even get much when you pump, it feels pointless but on the other hand I know the more often I pump, the better my output.
I know the desire to exclusively feed breast milk but if your sanity is at risk because you're slaving away on the pump and missing out on the groups that you enjoy, then it's just not worth it. The stress of it all is not helping I'm sure so try to accept that you're doing the best you can in your situation and that as long as your baby is fed, you're doing the right thing. If you can believe that, your supply could be great on Monday or maybe even later in the week. You're a good mom.
@LoveatCowles I use the app BabyConnect and just added myself as a second child. I use it to keep track of my prenatals, probiotics and other randomness.
Your comment about tracking showers is great (sadly) because sometimes I can't remember if it's been a day or two or... Either way I'm going to start tracking that now too!
Has anyone tasted vitamin D drops? I just gave J his first ever dose and he screwed his face up and cried. I tried them and they are AWFUL. I had to nurse him just to get the taste out of his mouth. I hope it doesn't make him wary of other medicines in droppers. Thanks, Enfamil! I want my $9 back.

@kaking78 not the vitamin d but the polyvisol. They looked nasty, so i tried a tiny drop before giving them to LO. I literally almost threw up. I had to hand off the baby because I was gagging so hard. So he doesn't get them. I'm EBF so I had asked about vitamin d and that's what the pedi called in. I take my prenatal and added a calcium plus d tablet a day and take him outside pretty regularly.
@Sanibel21 I learned a lot from taking classes at creativelive.com! They often have DSLR fundamental classes, photoshop and Lightroom workshops, and a lot of tips for running a photo business. The classes are free if you watch them live in real-time. They also sell DVDs of all their classes after they've aired if you want to rewatch. Clickinmoms.com is another good resource and they have a small monthly fee.
Oooh I've heard of clickinmoms but wasn't sure if it was worth it and I wasn't yet a mom, haha. And I'll definitely check out the creativelive one. Thank you!
@mrsdahamm I think that's going to be my plan too. I'll supplement myself and give him a few minutes in the sun each day. I might be able to sneak those drops into strong tasting purees in a few months.

This. I am supplementing myself and taking him outside, I'm not going to give those nasty drops
Uhm maybe I wasn't listening but I never got the vitamin d memo. I thought it was for when they're older?
The pediatrician mentioned it yesterday since I EBF but he wasn't adamant about it. Not a medical opinion, but I would imagine it's more of an issue in the winter when the sun is weaker or for babies who never leave the house.
