It's official. I can no longer button my shorts. Had to put on my maternity shorts this morning. Sigh. And I feel my weight jumped up this week (I'm 15 weeks)
Anyone else moved out of their regular shorts yet?
I haven't worn regular pants since about 12 weeks. My hips grew wayyyyy to fast for me to keep wearing my clothes. Maternity clothes are so much more comfortable anyways.
Still squeezing into my regular pants but after I eat anything, the zipper goes down and the belly band goes on! Hoping to live through the summer in maxis!
I only wear dresses, so there is more wiggle room. I am still trying to get buy with high waisted regular dresses, but they're beginning to be unflattering. One weekend project is pulling my maternity dresses out of storage and washing them.
I'm scared to even put on my regular shorts to be honest. It's only just gotten warm enough here to wear shorts and I have avoided them altogether. I'm still wearing some of my regular pants for work, but only the ones that don't have buttons/zippers and just pull on. Luckily I have a lot of that type for the summer, but I don't have anything casual for home so I've been wearing jeans, which are starting to get a little too hot. I'll have to break down and buy some real maternity shorts and capris soon.

Same here I've got 4 new maxi dresses coming in the mail today. I'm hoping they will make up a majority of my wardrobe for the next couple of months. I have tried to buy maternity pants twice now, but being petite (I barely hit 5'0") and small, I am swimming in everything. I came home from one shopping trip in tears. That's when DH truly knew what pregnancy hormones meant (I NEVER cry)
I popped the button on a pair of work pants last week. They were stretchy so I didn't realize they were stretching all that much. I also had some "fat jeans" in my closet that I had bought a long time ago but were too big and I never returned them....will be growing out of those shortly.
17 weeks here today and I've been sporting maternity pants since week 14. Thank god for them!!! I've officially "popped" I look like 20 weeks pregnant!
I had the worst bloating and was in maternity clothes before 10 weeks! So glad I didn't make myself suffer and just went right for maternity. So much more comfortable. Check out Old Navy, they're currently having a shorts sale and have coupon codes on their site in addition to the sale. Also try Ann Taylor LOFT they have really good sales on maternity clothes. I ordered a couple pairs of shorts for 50% off recently.
pfft....by the time it got warm enough for shorts, my regular shorts didn't fit. Not just the buttoning part....the "my ass is too big for these" part.

Been in mine since 12 weeks! I had crampy pains a few times when wearing my regular clothes that were tight and decided to go with comfort. Best decision ever!
With DS I didn't switch to maternity clothes until I was almost 4 months.

At 14 weeks I was getting tired of all of the regular clothes that were being added to the " can't wear this anymore pile". Tried the belly band on and off for about a week, but it's just another piece of fabric in the way and when you are going to the bathroom all the time I just found it to be a nuisance. So, I embraced the much more comfortable maternity clothes when I hit 14 weeks and haven't looked back.
Thanks everyone for the responses. I'm glad I'm not the only one!!! I felt like all this was happening too soon and that maybe I should slow down on the Swedish fish.

Feel like I should add: and I'm someone who everyone keeps commenting on how my bump is so small, but my normal clothes were not fitting right, especially the shirts & dresses that are more form fitting were just not flattering anymore.
My jeans finally gave way this week, even though I weigh less now than before I was pregnant. I can button them, but sitting down basically cuts off circulation to my legs. I have embraced all manner of stretchy pants and capris. I might pick up some maxi skirts and larger tee shirts to supplement. So far, no "maternity" clothes, but I bought a great maternity bathing suit at Target. It actually looked decent on. I was thrilled.

I was just barely squeezing into my pants starting around last week (13) and would wear a belly band and unzip after meals, but that wasn't very comfy. The best part of my day was climbing into my pajama/yoga pants. I finally caved yesterday and got some low-rise maternity pants and they feel sooooooo comfy. I have to use my belly band to hold them up, because the waist is still a bit big for me, but it's good to have room to grow.
Hmmm, I'm still fitting in to my pants, except one pair, but I have wide hips to begin with so I have a feeling it'll be awhile. Kinda wish I had a bump to show for the 8+ pounds I've gained, instead I just look bloated.
I'm 14 weeks 3 days and have just started wearing a belly band (an extension between your button and button hole on pants). I can still do up my pants but it's just starting to get a bit uncomfortable.
I did the belly band thing until I can go find new pants/shorts that actually fit me. Unfortunately I've tried some on and nothing has fit right yet. However, most of my pants are tight around the hips since they've gotten so much bigger!
I guess I am fortunate. I am 17 weeks tomorrow and all of my clothes still fit just fine. Thank goodness, because maternity clothes are just not in the budget right now! I also got extra lucky and my mom, who was a size to two sizes larger than me had gastric sleeve surgery and has lost over 60 pounds. Which means I get all her clothes that are too big and hopefully they will work as maternity wear for a while.

EDD 11/11/2014..... Heard a heartbeat for the very first time at 8w2d and I couldn't be more excited!!! The fact that this LO has a heartbeat gives me hope that I may get to be a mother after all!!

Aw man, now I really want some Swedish fish! Also, I've been wearing maternity since week 9, FTM.
I'm 14w and doing the rubber band trick around the button of my pants...I have a feeling it won't be long until I have to retire them and go shopping!
Yeah I'm doing that right now at 15 weeks (creeping up on 16). My mom saw this the other day and I just received an email saying she's mailing me a white and a black Bella band along with pant expanders lol

Ditto here. I'm feeling like I've gained way too much already!
18 weeks here, still wearing and buttoning my normal jeans *flinches* Please don't kill me... I have a small bump, but otherwise haven't gained much and my pants are very low rise so that helps, but I'm thinking I'll break out the rubber band by the end of the week... Am I the ONLY one on here who isn't comfortable in maternity clothes?? I will fight it as long as I can...

Honestly, I really prefer the look of maternity clothes. They kind of smooth out the bump. And they're super comfortable!
Just trying the bella band for the first time today since my work pants can no longer (comfortably) zip/button! I constantly have to pull it down though every time I stand up or move around a lot. Is there a trick to these things that I'm missing??
Ugh! I woke up this morning and my shorts don't zip either. That and an insurance guy came to my house. I am 17 weeks and have gained 11 pounds. Yikes!

Was going to raise the next Bode Miller- now, Lindsey Vonn!
I'm on vacation right now so haven't tried on pants in over a week but was still wearing my more forgiving ones. This vaca I've been fine in regular dresses, although last night after dinner the elastic band in one was digging in. The shorts I'm wearing are 1-2 sizes above what I normally wore pre-pregnancy.
Sad to say that I haven't been able to button my pants since week 11 or 12... Now my regular jeans won't fit over my butt (I'm currently 16 weeks) I got a bit depressed about this last week, but this week I'm trying to embrace my growing bump...and butt...
14w6d and rockin' the maternity capris for the first time! Although I don't have enough belly to hold them up (I have to keep pulling them up to keep them from sagging), they are a MILLION times more comfortable than my regular pants which I can barely get on anymore!
i held out at as long as possible partially because i had a hard time find maternity clothes to fit properly but ive been in them full time now about 2 or 3 weeks and it's the best. no more feeling like i'm about to burst out of my pants after lunch. i was also under the impression that i didnt really gain much in my butt thigh area but dh says otherwise. he seemed a little confused that i didnt notice but i explained i bought all new clothes so it's not like my ass isn't fitting into my old jeans. i guess i'm sporting a little more junk in trunk these days. (omg how old do i sound saying that! my high school self just rolled her eyes at me.)
