I don't think we need to be doing ticker change threads every day on top of the daily symptoms threads. I know that I don't have to read them (and I normally don't TBH), but it seems a bit repetitive.
I think it's funny that Thursday people are the only ones who do it. I haven't seen any other day of the week.
I will be 9 weeks tomorrow and thrilled I probably would have celebrated with a ticker change now I won't

Huh? I think you're reading too much into my comment. I'm not the post police, I have no issue with the ticker threads, I just don't open them. Feel free to start Friday's. I'm sure there will be others who are excited to move up with you.

Why not? Start it if you want one!

Haha!!!! That's funny because my baby went from a raspberry size to olive size this morning. I told my husband that I thought our raspberry was a much sweeter nickname.

I kind of agree. I think we should just add the ticker info to the symptoms thread or vice versa.
I'd rather see two threads than 48 individual AW threads about symptoms and hitting the next week / fruit / whatever.
THIS. Plus it's all consolidated into one (two) threads, and easily labeled.. so it's VERY simple to avoid if it's not an interest to you. And if Thursday girls are the only ones that want to participate (since it was asked and we all enjoy it) I don't see the harm. If Monday, Tuesday (etc) girls don't want to have theirs, I don't see the big deal there either. Skip it.
I think it's kinda cool to be "on the same wavelength" as the other girls who switch over, and post with them on a smaller level. Plus we talk dentists, gagging and biting during BJ's. If that aint fun, I dunno what is.
-----------------------------
It doesn't bother me that it's on the board. It just seems like both threads have the same information (aside from the fruit). Thinking logically, it would make sense to consolidate, but I don't really care if they stay separate.
ETA: And now that you mention it, I can see how it would be cool to have everyone who's at the same stage as you in one thread.
But it's not really that way. My ticker could change on Wed and your on Wed but we can still be 4 weeks apart.
I don't care about the ticker change threads- if you like 'em cool; if not, ignore them, but I just wanted to point out that not everyone whose ticker changes on the same day of the week is at the same stage.
I hate the terms: squish/squishy, "the littles," and - the worst offender of them all - SPOSIE.
Can we let these die? So cutesy and ... UGH.
On top of this I also hate when people say the word "bish" instead of "bitch." I'm pretty sure it originated because your used to not be able to say swear words on tb, but we're adults. We can say swear words now. Use the damn word.
Also "Sposie" makes me want to stab people. I dont use sposies I use disposable diapers. I we dont call cloth diapers "clothies."
Wait, we don't right? Cause im totally not cool with that.
I know when I was using cloth a few years ago it was popular to call it 'fluff' or 'fluffy butts', so yeah, there is a cutesy name for CDs, too.

Correct.. when I said that, I meant everyone who is moving to the next week. Not everyone in the same week.. since some of us could be turning 6, some 9. And in between. You still have moving up in common.

Here's another UO that'll blow your mind: I am of the UO that each pregnancy should be celebrated, so if anyone OFFERS to throw you a shower, you should accept with gratitude and not over think it. Those who love you, are not going to judge you as "gift grabby" over the Target gift card they will gift you..
@brendisimma if your first uo is unpopular then I weep for humanity. Your second comment is the same as what people overwhelming said in the post about showers. If someone offers to throw you one, great.

That is not unpopular around these parts I don't think. Throwing yourself one or asking to be thrown a shower is however unpopular.
I hate frosting, especially colored frosting, eg I get that it's cute for an Elmo birthday party bit I'd also rather not have to throw out lo's clothes once he gets greasy red stains all over. Luckily he doesn't seem to care about cake or frosting yet :-)
I don't know if this is an UO or if I'm just bitching but I HATE those stupid carts at the grocery store that have the big, stupid, plastic car attached to the front of them. First, I imagine them to be disgustingly dirty and crawling with germs (maybe that's the nurse in me?) AND secondly they're enormous and are impossible to maneuver without dominating the entire aisle.
Also, I'm alway concerned some kid is going to stick their hand out and I'm going to run over their poor fingers.

haha...i love those. they're absolutely a sanity saver for me when i have my 4yo with me at the grocery story. that said, if he hangs his head or arms out, he gets one warning and then we put the cart back for exactly the reasons you said, and i prefer to grab the kind that has the plastic car sort of wrapped around the cart with the seat up in the top where the kid would normally sit anyway, just facing the other direction.
edit: they DO handle like tanks.

@vjdk07, I am mobile and can't see your siggy, but is this your first child?
DS is 18 months, and yes, those car carts are annoying to maneuver, but if they can keep him quiet and happy while we're in the store, it's a trade-off I'm willing to make.
I do agree that I prefer the ones where he can't drag his hands on the floor.
While I majored in English/creative writing and minored in linguistics (and currently work at a newspaper), grammar and [most] spelling mistakes on the internet do not freak me out or turn me rage-y. So I guess my UO is that I don't think people should get that uptight about it on the interwebz. Resumes and business emails? Yes. Internet forums (depending on the forum, I guess), not so much. Peeps need to chillax.
I will say, though, that a few very common spelling mistakes will make me twitch, but not mad enough that I want to try and correct every one of them.
Ahhhh I love this. I'm so tired of the holier than thou attitude about grammar and spelling on TB. And the fact that people say they won't read comments or respond if there are mistakes. Really? Maybe someone didn't have an education as good as yours or maybe they just suck at spelling. Whatever.
I have to say I look at those "grammar queens" posts praying for some errors and they always show up! Not every time but they do!

I thought "fluff" was just another way of saying "junk in the trunk"
Nope, it refers to the actual diapers. People would say things like, "I got my fluff in the mail today," or whatever.
On the topic of FB, I HATE when people share pictures of their m/c or stillborn baby. I completely understand if you personally want a picture to keep but that is not something that needs to be shared with the world. (Sorry if I offend anyone)

If I have to spend time deciphering what you're saying because you've typed slang words or text speak (which is what I was originally thinking of when I typed out my FFFC that I think you're referring to), choosing not to respond isn't having a holier than thou attitude. A few errors here and there is completely understandable but I'm not hip to all that bad grammar that I sometimes see. If that makes me a grammar queen then I wear that crown proudly.
Edit: Words are hard. Even for a grammar queen. Thank you edit!

No, I have a 6 year old. He used to ride in them from time to time too but that does not make me like them anymore. Maybe I would appreciate them more if they had entertained DS at all. For him, it was fun to ride in for about 10 minutes then he wanted out and I'm still stuck driving around the school bus sized cart. lol.

As a friend of someone who just gave birth to a still born at 27 weeks quite recently I have to disagree. Why can't parents celebrate the birth of their child like anyone else just because the child was stillborn. That's just cruel. The mother still carried the child and gave birth, she has every right to want to show off her little angel just like a mom with a living newborn does.
