Ok, keeping on the food train. How in the hell does anyone eat oysters when there are so many other yummy items to choose from. Oysters not only smell and taste disgusting, but they just look disgusting too. No thanks!
Suffering from multiple losses myself and with all my infertility struggles it still irks me when others who have gone through the same things can't be happy for others. And I don't mean jealous because I've definitely been there.... But I mean down right nasty even if they don't realize it. I get it. I do. I wish I could be 100% naive about loss and I don't want to take that away from others. While yes, 1 in 4 suffer a loss, 3 of 4 don't and I pray they NEVER need experience it.
While I majored in English/creative writing and minored in linguistics (and currently work at a newspaper), grammar and [most] spelling mistakes on the internet do not freak me out or turn me rage-y. So I guess my UO is that I don't think people should get that uptight about it on the interwebz. Resumes and business emails? Yes. Internet forums (depending on the forum, I guess), not so much. Peeps need to chillax.
I will say, though, that a few very common spelling mistakes will make me twitch, but not mad enough that I want to try and correct every one of them.

I agree with this. I stated in last weeks FFFC that I can handle a mistake or two but if every sentence has one, I just can't. Especially if I am having to decipher what you are trying to get across.
I don't get the obsession with bacon or dairy. When people tell me they could never give up dairy I want to roll my eyes. Seriously, if you really wanted to you could. You choose not to stop eating it.

I kind of agree. I'm big on grammar, also, but I make mistakes. I type very quickly and don't usually proof read (that's the lazy side of me) so I probably have errors in my typing that I don't even know about (and if I did, it would bug me). But grammar junk doesn't typically bother me.
The ONLY thing that sort of gets to me is the your/you're thing when they just do it ALL THE TIME. I feel like adults should know the difference between these spellings/meanings and if I see it constantly from the same person it can get under my skin.

I don't think there is much that is worthwhile on television. I also don't get how people can watch so much TV or keep up with so many shows. Who has time for that? :-??
This is why I stick to 1 show at a time. It was Dexter, then it was Breaking Bad, and now it is Game of Thrones. 1 hour a week I can totally manage.
I don't like it when I hear pregnancy being used as justification for dumb things. Any time I hear, you're pregnant, you can do what you want, I shudder. No. Being pregnant does not give you carte Blanche to be bitchy, be rude, etc. Use your pregnancy as reason to eat that second bowl of ice cream, I don't care, but the rules of society don't stop applying to you because you're knocked up.

Same. Plus, I don't really care for movies (I guess that's my UO) so instead of watching a movie together we'll watch a few episodes of a TV show. We prefer to watch a show once it's already finished, but we do watch new episodes of Game of Thrones each week.
Another UO: I won't eat any soft fancy cheeses. They smell like ass.
I'm going to be lame and steal one I saw while lurking on TTGP this morning. I like getting jury duty. I was supposed to serve in April but it got cancelled and I was super disappointed. If I go and don't get chosen, I get the day off of work. And if I do get chosen I get to be part of a trial and feel like I'm in an episode of law and order!
I can't believe I've still never been called upon for jury duty! Could it be because I move rather frequently (every 2-3 years)?
That could be it. Although, I got called for jury duty the day after I got home from the hospital after delivering DD. I was very annoyed. I had only been living in the area for 18ish months at that point. So theoretically it could also be due to population size of where you're living.

We record everything thing, then watch it as we have time.
My UO: I don't get the hype of the walking dead, game of thrones, or most of the other really popular shows.
UO-- places that ban bare feet (example-- restaurants claim to for health and safety reasons) should also ban flip flops. Flip flops leave the tops of your feet pretty much just as open as if you had bare feet (for instances of dropped items, spills, and things like glass shards can end up between the shoe sole and the foot), the foam ones have no traction, and shoe treads pick up and carry the same amount of environmental diseases as your feet (in some cases more because your feet don't track dirt as far).
@CrazyMonkeyBear, stigmatism has to do with optics. I think you mean stigma. I'm not trying to be snarky, but you had the (?), so I thought you might want to know.

I LOVE flip flops. I'd be in them all the time if I could wear them to work. That's all I've got.
Me too. As soon as the first nice days of spring are here, my feet are in flip flops. Off topic: did anyone grow up calling them zories?

No, but I do HAVE a pair of zori from being an exchange student in Japan.

Whoa I never knew that that's what the Japanese footwear was called. My mom calls flip flops zories. I will have to let her know she's being politically incorrect. Haha.
I'm not sure if this is more of a FFFC, but I really don't like the unsolicited advice in the Play Date thread (including good/bad/indifferent). If there are questions asked, answer them. Other than that, wait for a good place to put your fantastic advice about x, y, or z. I know the advice is coming from a good place, but dang. I couldn't get through most of the thread bc all of the extra info!
My UO is XP'd from parenting, but I think cupcakes should have frosting. Unfrosted cupcakes are disappointing.
I like frosting but I hate actually having to frost so I make my cupcakes sweet enough so it's not needed. My favorite are cupcakes with brownie batter in the middle, definitely no need for frosting there

@motherboy-- Zori gave rise to American flip flops. Around WWII, troops brought back the idea from the straw sandals worn by most of the Japanese in everyday life. Original flip flops in the US tended to be rubbery.

Also, I wish that thread had a disclaimer that "just because something happened to me doesn't mean it will happen to you." Someone mentioned that tearing will happen (or something to that degree) and that just isn't true. I did not tear. I am not the only person to not tear either!

Yes. I try to put qualifications at the beginning of statements like that. For me, breastfeeding never hurt. I wouldn't say "Breastfeeding doesn't hurt at all!!!" Instead of, I know others have had different experiences, but for me...

Ok that was me. I definitely qualified it, and said I don't know if you can avoid tearing/episiotomy. I don't know anyone in real life who didn't have either. Congrats on not having to deal with it. I think it's implied in the thread that second time mamas are speaking from their experience.
I don't think we need to be doing ticker change threads every day on top of the daily symptoms threads. I know that I don't have to read them (and I normally don't TBH), but it seems a bit repetitive.
I completely disagree - they are two totally different threads. The daily symptoms thread is about how you are feeling that day and a place to ask questions about what happened that day - i.e. I haven't pooped in three days and I am cramping. The ticker change is about weekly progress - i.e. woohoo, made it to 8 weeks and I have an appt tomorrow!

I think it's funny that Thursday people are the only ones who do it. I haven't seen any other day of the week.

That could definitely be part of the reason - the lists probably don't catch up to you.

<p align="center"Maybe it was just my horrid experience with a bad batch of sushi and a large unassuming piece of ginger. Or the fact that I can't stand fish.
