As to your questioning Rachel's comment that she wishes she could "see their IP addresses sooo bad", it matters not what she would or would not do with them, as she obviously made no attempt to retrieve them.

If that is difficult for you to understand, here is a metaphor to help. I wish I could see the look on your face when you realize how idiotic you sound, but alas, I cannot, as this is the internet, not a Skype call.

The day you deliver, outside will be windy. Quite possible. It's often windy here, at any time of the year. Your baby will arrive in the late afternoon. Sure, why not? After a labor lasting approximately 9 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. I am having a girl, and 9 hours sounds pretty good! Your baby will weigh about 5 pounds, 6 ounces, and will be 17 inches long. Hmm... well, since I'm now getting US done everyday, and they're consistently telling me 6.5 pounds, and hopefully I'll be pregnant a bit longer, this seems unlikely. This child will have medium brown eyes and curly blond hair. Um, really? That would be a surprise.

@hampire and @MegK82 apparently only one of you likes broccoli, otherwise you would have twins. Obviously.

You're trained in bullying prevention and you can't see how you are being a bully? I can one up you here and tell you that I was bullied as a child and can taste it before I see it. It doesn't take a trained specialist in bullying to tell to me when I or others are being bullied. Again, I ask you-- for what purpose would you need someone's IP address? Possibly to extend the torture beyond the confines of this discussion board?I do recognize the fact that I place myself at the center of a pack of rabid wolves by even commenting in this thread again. I don't care. When you're bullied often, you start to realize that it's actually not necessary or favorable to always be a part of a collective, "we". I stuck up for someone who was being torn apart. Someone who is 37 weeks pregnant and asked a question that was silly. Someone who doesn't deserve to be shunned by a community because of asking a silly question. Your actions define you-- even though you are only represented by an anonymous handle. You probably are a very nice person and you probably wouldn't do anything with someone's IP address, but how do you know that someone else on these boards wouldn't? Why would you contribute that idea to other anonymous handles? I'll speculate that it is because you feel good to be accepted as a part of a community. In this community if you are willing to join the pack and say something funny and mean hearted you are willing to be. Yes, the first few responses to the OPs silly question were funny. It's when they just kept going and going and she came back to ask them to stop and they just kept on that the jokes became uncomfortable and not funny. Do you understand how this is bullying? Also It became cyberstalking when you introduced the idea of finding out IP addresses....because, really, this is when you start hurting more than someone's feeling. Read and think about this excerpt from C.S. Lewis's, That Hideous Strength: "This was the first thing Mark had been asked to do, which he himself, before he did it, clearly knew to be criminal. Nope, still not bullying or cyberstalking. Cyberstalking would be ACTUALLY finding out the IP addresses and then using them to do actual damage, none of which took place. Nor was there any bullying. We did not seek her out and continue this on her profile page, we poked fun at a silly question. Were some of the comments mean hearted? Possibly, but being mean hearted once does not equal bullying.

Take your own advice, if you don't like the thread, don't open it. I have been flamed more than once on this site on different boards. You either get butt hurt and leave, find a different board, or suck it up and get over it to continue posting on the same board. A lot of us "regs" have been flamed at one point or another during our nine months together, some chose to leave and most chose to stay. It's a community like any other, and it's your choice, and OP's choice, to stay or go. Being flamed once does not equal being bullied. Being flamed once does not equal being told to leave, or not welcomed in the future. I wouldn't necessarily even call this thread a flaming, just a bunch of ladies having fun with a silly question.

Also, no one "shunned" the OP. We didn't tell her to leave, shunning would be more ignoring the thread and telling her to go away. You get out of this forum what you put in. She asked a silly question and got some silly answers. She could come back tomorrow and start posting on our regular threads, or even starting her own not so silly ones, and be welcomed without an issue.

Show me where she asked us to stop. Because her first and only response was: "wow, thanks for the smart ass comments." blah blah blah, if you can't say anything nice don't say anything. Even after that the teasing was minimal. She posted a question that not even an OB could answer, and when she didn't like the responses she got snappy and basically told us to shut up. Any snarkiness after that was because of her bitchy reaction.

Then here YOU come, freaking white knight to the rescue. We have no clue who you are and you come out swinging calling us snatchasauruses. I don't believe a single one of us called the OP, or any of her white knights any derogatory names. Please quote it if I'm wrong. We made fun of a silly question, we didn't attack her character. The only character attacks I've seen on this thread have been from you.

If you don't like the tone of the board and the reaction of the posters log the fuck out and you don't have to see it. No one will follow you. No one is "cyberstalking." We don't know you and frankly don't care enough about you to bother.

I will admit my first response was blunt but I in no way attacked the OP. No one did. I simply addressed how the question was dumb and out of place and I was tired of seeing it. Honestly, if a grown woman can't accept non-sugar coated critique then life is gonna be tough. Then again my mother raised me with the understanding that the world doesn't blow smoke up your ass. Being honest and telling someone that they posted in a wrong spot isn't bullying. Neither is telling them "I'm not a dr nor can I predict what your body will do."

But please. Please post another c.s. Lewis quote or call me a wild rabid wolf again, goes a long way into supporting your argument.
