There are some of you without Waffle House?!?!?
I don't know where the closest one to D.C. is, down in VA somewhere perhaps? What is worse though is that we get ads for Sonic all the time on TV here and the closest one is at least an hour or more away. What is up with that Sonic??
Frederick has two Waffle Houses. In Virginia you have to get to Dumfries or further south down 95. They just opened a Sonic in Frederick too, like in the last few weeks, but they're up in Baltimore and Hagerstown too.

Closest one to me USED to be 20 minutes away, but it closed.... now the closest is an hour away. I used to live right around the corner from one, but that was years ago.
I'm interested! If anyone is interested, I would kind of like to be paired with somebody or a couple of people who are attempting medication-free birth. I know there are at least a couple of S14 girls I have seen on the natural childbirth boards. But please ignore my idea if that means I'll be picked last at recess.
I'm in KY in eastern time zone, but I grew up in central time zone, so I can swing both ways.
I enjoy this thread being taken over by hash browns. I also would like to add that @CarmAlarm and I are into threesomes since our Edds are only 2 days apart. Haaaaaay
@knovitski I am lost among the cornfields of Illinois, too!
The only reason I see to consider time zones is that it might be easiest when you go into labor at 2 a.m. or 11 p.m. or whatever, to not have to sit there and figure out what time it is in your LB's time zone, and whether it's rude to text at that hour. You'll just know automatically.
Oh, and yeah....I'm totally in on the labor buddy situation :-D Local would be awesome, but I think the other two ladies by me also have a similar due date...and we may all be delivering at the same hospital lol

Honest to god have never even heard of it! @-)
As for labor buddies I would love to do it and like the idea of little groups. I'm not in CA like some of the girls before but I'm like 4 miles from the California border up here in Oregon
@kshayes0315 I grew up up near there... not quite that close, but about 40 miles from Oregon. That's why I can't get myself to call the Sacramento/Bay Area Northern CA. :P
Just want to say how much I loooooove Waffle House! Anytime we ask DS what he wants for dinner he says "Waffle House!" And he's not even three... Kid knows what he's talking about . Also, I am mountain standard time but I am up for anything!

I know there's one in Spotsylvania (b/c it is kind of sketch and it wasn't until I moved south that I realized that it was a legit delicious magical place).... I'm sure there could be one in Stafford...

woo! Representing Oregon here too! But the other end up near Portland.
That's central CA to me too I was born in Santa Cruz but we moved here when I was 4. I always say even though I was born in CA I'm an Oregonian at heart lol. Were you on the coast or farther inland?
I was further inland. I mostly lived in the Redding area (so more like 100 miles from the border), but for awhile I was just north of Mt Shasta. I really miss the mountains of Northern CA.
I love the Santa Cruz area with the beach and the redwoods. So pretty. My dad got married in the redwoods there. H and I are in the hot ass central valley right now, an hour south of Sacramento but are planning to move out to the central coast in a couple years.
in case some people like time zones and local area...add me to the EST, FTM, livin in the Old Dirty..aka Hampton Roads area, VA.
And...I like cold natty's on the beach, my couch and food. College sports fan and a sucker for celebrity train wreck gossip. I have one wiener mut dog and am a gingerish gal, but have my finger's crossed that my LO will indeed be born with a soul.
I did some research on the whole red hair thing as I am ginger-ish myself. I was curious since neither of my parents are. Apparently both parents have to have the gene even if it doesn't show. Unlike my parents neither of DH's family sides have any redheads so pretty sure we won't have any ginger kids ourselves. It is amazing how they just sort of pop up sometimes though.

Wow I thought all the lurkers came out for a labor buddy and that's why the thread took off. Should have known food was involved. We have a pancake house...does that count?!
as in, "the original pancake house" ...? cuz we have two of those, and hot damn, best pancakes evarrr.

Yes...the gene is recessive and you need both alleles in order to have red hair. Someone with brown hair could carry the allele, but brown is dominant. Even if none of your DH's living family has the gene, it could still be carried for generations.

anewadventure - the 804? very nice! did you play for the Strikers? I lived there until middle school and go back a lot. Yup, I can say Tuckahoe without feeling like a perv ;-) And I love my rainbow cookies! Natty is trash water in a can, agreed, but to me that makes it perfect for the beach!
804, what what! haha! i only guested for the strikers. i played my years with the midlo blast (which became the richmond kickers) and then fc richmond. my sis played for the strikers.

I have a friend, who both her and her hubby are very solid brunettes... they have a little girl with BRIGHT RED HAIR. Freaking gorgous. And they just had another baby and this one has tints of red... so I'm guessing they have hidden red hair somewhere.
And now I'm craving WH. Scattered, smothered, covered and peppered, well-done, please! And a sausage, egg & cheese on whole wheat. That is my standard order. I am lucky enough to have 2 within 5 min of my house, and probably 5 within 10 minutes. That's what happens when you're in the REAL Waffle House Mecca -- ATLANTA, baby!
And yes, count me in for a labor buddy!
Time zone doesn't matter too much to me (I'm Eastern, naturally), and would love someone either local or Florida, as we're planning to move to Jacksonville within the next 2 years.
