  • I sewed a bunch of receiving blankets but in a bigger size ( about 1yd) I wanted thinner blankets for summer too since she's going to be here in the middle of July! And I also did some canvas art for her room!

Spray painting my own 99cent store frames!
  • @tkt17, they sell large metal hoops at a lot of hobby/craft stores that people use for dream catchers.  They have rounded sides instead of the embroidery hoop ones.  :)
  • @samounthak, just keep in mind that making them yourself may not be that much less expensive (plus time) than buying them... I know you're the master couponer, but I think (with a 40% off coupon), I paid about $4.50 for the gauze (Joann was the cheapest place to find it), plus I needed to make it pretty, so $4 for the stamp pad, and about $4 for the stamp itself.  Granted, if I wanted them all to be the same pattern (or if anybody wants penguins), they would be cheaper, but... just to keep that in mind.

I do plan on getting a couple more stamps (and some fabric markers) to do additional ones... because they're pretty darn cute and then nobody shall have the same as meeee!!
  • This is my AW picture of said swaddle....

@alyssa719 yeah the costs can add up if you plan to make them pretty! But I have the leftover dye from my baby shower that the hostess gave to me so I'll probably dye them with that. I also have fabric paint from other projects in the past and plan to make my own stamps lol

If I didn't have any of those things, then I would agree that it can get pretty costly if you decide to make them yourself.

I LOVE your little penguin swaddle! So cute and they're my fave animal :)

  • Me, husband and DD1 (and her teddy bear) all have Christmas stockings that I made out of applique on felt so I need to come up with more designs for this baby (and her teddy bear) to start making them around October.

Also wanting to reupholster a chair to be our nursing chair but I've yet to find one I like. She's due in a month so this is is probably going to get put on hold!

    edited June 2014
I finally finished my curtains and quilt! Now that school is out, I am toying with the idea of using my fabric scraps from the quilt and taggie animals to make some soft blocks. We'll see….

edit: well apparently the pictures didn't attach. I really thought I was computer literate.
