I've made some crib sheets, burp rags, and a blanket so far, and am working on a painting. Any easy curtain/valence and crib skirt website suggestions for a tutorial?
I may not be that crafty but I can work a glue gun! Made this Monogram from buttons (the room will be green with grey and yellow accents) to hang above the crib....it will really be on the only "decoration" I have in the room.
I'll probably paint something for the nursery. I am not a super crafty person on my own, but I do pretty well at those paint while you drink places where they tell you the steps to get there. My nursery will have a beach theme, so I will keep an eye out for something that will work with that.
I've decided to try a cross stitch design to frame & hang on the wall. There's a embroidery/knitting/crochet store not far from our house. I'm going there tomorrow to see if they can help me get started.
I am knitting a barnyard of animals! Well, so far I just have one sheep (who kinda looks like a bear and belongs on the Island of Misfit Toys), and am working on a cow. I plan on making a few more! Want to make a pig, a highland cow, a chicken, maybe some more. Am using the book "Knitted Farm Animals" by Sarah Keen. BTW, I only just learned how to knit this fall. I used a beginner's class on craftsy.com and went from there!
I am also painting a bureau with a big tree on it with colorful leaves, an owl and some other birds, and some flowers! Don't worry, I am using a heavy duty respirator mask that makes me look like Darth Vader. I got the idea from Pinterest and it's going to be awesome :-) ..just hope our kid doesn't have a lifetime fear of owls :-P

Love the dino and blue blanket! So adorable!!! And I admire the crib sheets, I'm afraid of attempting something like that because my hemming is sub-par.
Thanks so much! The sheets were actually a lot easier to make than the blanket (for me anyway), and I am very much a beginner sewer. I would suggest giving it a shot because you might surprise yourself like I did!
Yay! TB finally let's me post pics now. Here is what I have done so far. Excuse the blue room for the bedding pic, it was the only crib I had set up to model.
I plan to do lots more for her room to match the bedding that I have done. I just have too many orders and too little time.
I am soooo bad at finishing projects, so despite the fact that I cut all the fabric this weekend, I have a feeling my first quilt will not be done until baby it at least a few months old, lol.
I can't sew or knit . I will learn one day but in the meantime my husband is sanding and painting the dressers I've had since I was a baby! They are going to be pink, white, and gray with aqua elephants painted on them! We also bought her name in wooden letters to paint . My husband is really into this project and proud to be making something for the baby, he's so sweet! She is our first and I know he will be an amazing father!!
I'm really excited. I went to the local store & they helped me get started on my project! I'm going to cross stitch several bible verses that use the phrase "blessed is the man". I'll frame them for the wall over the dresser/changing table. Right now I am just using graph paper to make the designs, after that I'll go back to the store & they'll help me with the next step.
Thanks to you awesome, crafty ladies I'm going to actually do this!!!
Finished this swaddler for Baby girl tonight! Started it back before we knew she was a she so it's gender neutral, which is good. I'd like to make some things that might be able to be used with baby #2 someday too!
If anyone's interested here's the tutorial, only took about an hour once I got everything cut and marked.
Last night I started making a mobile for my baby's room. I'm super excited and hope it turns out! I am not naturally crafty, so it's a pretty easy project. It is similar to this:
I attended my family's annual quilting retreat this weekend and I was declared the most productive quilter there... It's my first project but it's about 75% complete. A tie-quilt for my Team green (yellow and brown) baby.
I finished the bureau I was painting for baby. Finished it about a month and a half ago, thankfully, as I don't think I would've had the energy to finish it now!
I have many craft ideas I want to do some are being held off since we had to move to FIL's. But I'm making the most of it I just finished me first baby craft for her part of our bedroom. The mobile I'm really happy with how it came out.
Dye-ing all of the old white onesies fun and exciting colors. Did one batch the other day for my friend and they turned out good, excited to do mine later this week.

I have been searching for a "baby safe" dye to dye the new plain onesies I have bought. What brand did you use?

I used RIT dye and plan on washing it a few times in my All Free & Clear detergent before DS2 wears these. ::Knock on wood:: DS1 never had any sensitivity issues when it came to clothing.
I finished my birch tree mural and animal paintings. Now I am working on a scrap book frame so that I can add a picture of Liam in. Below is the nursery and a bridal shower frame I finished recently for a friend that is close to what I want to do for the baby!
I'm going to have to make him a crib mobile because I can't find any outer spacey ones at mainstream stores and they're stupid expensive on Etsy. Won't be too fancy, probably just some felt pieces sewn together with a little stuffing. I'm thinking a rocket ship, a star, a moon, and a planet with rings.
Finally got around to making some things for Adelinde this weekend! Changing pad covers and teethers ( left two teethers are a gift for a friend also due in July).

For LS coming in July, I was thinking of scaling down this project for a baby blanket.
I love modular knitting and this is right up my alley.
