We had already planned a family cruise before BFP. Leaving in August with DH, SS, my parents and sisters. 8 day Eastern Caribbean. Guess I'm not going horseback riding now though
@cindyNmark2010 - Have you checked the cruise lines policies on pregnancy? Most won't let you sail if you have entered the 24th week by the time the cruise ends.
Uh, rut roh...better go look.
Never even thought of it but you're right as rain @runningmama14 . Says 24 completed weeks or less by disembarkation date and have to provide a doc note stating gestational stage before embarking. What a kick in the ass that week 24 ends the day of embarking. (
@cindyNmark2010 Oh I'm so sorry Hate to ruin your fun for you. I was only aware because we had a tentative 3 day cruise with some friends in the works when we found out. Our travel partners were the ones that told me.
======
How do they determine? Is it the honor system, or do you need a doctor's note?
Thanks! I had checked them out. I was disappointed a bunch of the dresses had long or 3/4 sleeves. July in CT I will need short sleeves for sure! I will keep an eye on Kohls, hopefully they will get more summery dresses soon!

It's pretty clear in the policy, you need a note:
From Site:
The Guest agrees not to book a cruise or board the ship unless on the day of disembarkation she is pregnant for 24 completed weeks or less, nor for or with infants less than six months old--for trans-ocean crossings, South America and Hawaii the infant must be at least twelve months of age at the time of embarkation to sail
All expectant Guests further agree to provide us, prior to embarkation, with a physician’s statement verifying that her gestational status is in accordance with this policy, and certifying her fitness to travel even if she will be less than twenty-four completed weeks pregnant upon disembarkation.
@MollMoll4 and @missnacholover : Yeah, I guess my OB just wanted to make sure I'm informed. She didn't discourage me from going and as she put it "your house could burn down tomorrow too." She did warned me about the spread of the hantavirus in the area too, but ultimately said it is my choice. My DH isn't too concern, but both sets of parents are kind of freaking out about it, haha.
Edited for spelling.
Fair enough! I'd tell your parents to cool it though... mostly because that would really annoy me I hope you go and have a great time!

check your cruise to see if they have a pregnancy cut off- my BIL and SIL planned a babymoon cruise and as they were boarding someone asked how far along she was (i forget now how far she was) but they basically wouldn't let her onboard even though BIL is an ER dr. so ridiculou. @cindynmark2010 tagging you also to make sure you see this!!

Heading to North Carolina this Sunday!!!! I can't wait to be on Ocracoke and enjoy the sun and ocean DH have been talking about going to my bosses beach house (in TX) again this summer but we usually go in October and that will be pretty close to baby so we will see.
Other than that I have already warned a few friends that I will be crashing their pools this summer.
I loooooooooove Ocracoke.
Yeah! We are trying to plan a babymoon type thing to Ocracoke or nearby for July. Also have a wedding to attend in upstate N.Y. in August.
If we go to the Outer Banks for our babymoon we'll probably end up in Nags Head or KDH. But that's OK because then I can go to Owen's for dinner, YUM! However, we're leaning more towards Topsail Island - we lived in Nags Head for 3 years so I'd like to try a different spot.
I have been to Nags Head and Kitty Hawk but we usually stick to Ocracoke and Hatteras when we head out to OBX. I usually just stuck to Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle because they were so close.
We plan to do a babymoon in September to Asheville, but this summer we are keeping it pretty low key. My daughter will be 3 in July and we are taking a girls (nana, mom, dd, and my sis) trip to VA to visit my grandpa for a week. We are also taking our annual st. Augustine beach trip with my inlaws in late July/ early august, and then we are back to school the 2nd week of aug (hubby and I are both teachers).
We will probably do a weekend or two at my parent's place on a lake in the Adirondacks (See Avatar image for lake). Hopefully, I will be up for some light hiking and definitely some swimming!
I also have 2 friends getting married in July, so I will need to find a cute pregnant lady dress for those! Luckily, they are from are two different friendship groups (one from high school and one from post college), so I can wear the same dress for both.
Any suggestions on where to shop for a cute, wedding fancy, maternity dress that doesn't break the bank. The dresses on Pea in the Pod were all $185+ and I've only ever spent that much on a bridesmaid dress, not a cocktail dress!
check out destination maternity at macys.i think it's the cheaper version of motherhood maternity or vice versa. i just bought 3 dresses all on sale suitable for a wedding.

DH and I have a wedding in Kelowna, BC for the Canada Day long weekend (July 1st) but other than that we don't have much planned. My hubby owns his own construction company and unfortunately summer is his busiest time so we can't really take much time away.
We were planning on flying from Pittsburgh to Myrtle Beach this summer, but once I got knocked up we decided to cancel so we can afford to get carpet in the babies room and get whatever else we need to be ready for baby. Then we were planning on a group of 6 of us getting a cabin for a couple nights, but we can't seem to get a good time when everyone is off work that the cabin is available....now we are talking about just camping in tents.....I WANT THE BEACH SO FREAKIN BAD!!!
I found a place in Ocean City thats $495 for a mini week, ocean front, one bedroom. I am about to ask DH if he thinks we can swing it !!! Of course, by the time we spend $100 in gas round trip to get there and another $300 to eat.......we damn near could have flown to MB. lmao....sigh!

@MollMoll4 Yeah, my mom especially is a crazy worrywart. I do get irritated when she tries to push too much Chinese superstitions on me (ex. don't eat lamb, don't eat bananas, don't do any home renovations!). But I know everyone meant well and I really do appreciate their concerns. At this point, I'll just wait and see how I feel physically come July. Sleeping on a thin mat on hard ground isn't the most comfortable, especially when you're pregnant. :P
DH and most of his family are teachers So we try live it up in the summer . This year we are doing to annual camping trip in June (go camp-ers!), then we usually go to the coast in July, but this year SIL is working at the summer camp where DH and I met (and other SIL worked there too) so the family is all going to go visit! I'm so excited! It's one of my favorite places on earth (Santa Cruz, CA) and I've already told SIL I'm living vicariously through her this summer. Then in August we will try to visit my family like we usually do, but we will pass on that camping trip. DH doesn't handle heat well so I know he'd be crabby and lately my step-siblings have been inviting their dad and it makes me feel really awkward.
Love reading about all your plans! Bring on summer!
Nothing major. We are going to Rehoboth Beach, DE next weekend for a family reunion thing with DH's family. Other than that, nothing is planned.
We are discussing doing a babymoon - probably a long weekend on the Outer Banks or Topsail Island (both in NC) but we'll see. We are also saving for a house so we may skip it. Although I really want to do something!
@missnacholover What dates are you going to RB? We'll be there 5/30 - 6/2 for my birthday! My uncle lives there off of Holland Glade Rd and lets us stay at his place.
We are renting a cabin in the Smokey Mountains w BIL, SIL, and niece (11). We are going to take her to Dollywood and hike some of the park. Really looking forward to it!

I have a few things planned. We're also going to Rehoboth Beach, DE next weekend 5/30 - 6/2 for my birthday. I try to go for my birthday every year. It'll be me and Ryan and our best friends (a couple) staying at my uncle's swanky house. I can't wait to eat beach food! And birthday cake!
Nothing is planned for July. I may try to squeeze in another weekend at my uncle's.
August I took off 8/6 - 8/17. We're going to Garden City, SC for a week, again with our best friends. Ryan works for a real estate company that owns a condo on the beach and we can stay for $350 a week. So that will be our babymoon. I'm terrified of wearing a bathing suit 7 months pregnant. I'm also worried about a 9 hour car ride. But I am so looking forward to a week of fun and sun and sand and food! Hopefully not sand in my food...
missnacholover - I love Topsail Island! I went there with my family a few years ago. If you go be sure to visit the Sea Turtle Hospital.
DH and I have kicked around a few ideas for a short summer break/babymoon. I'd love to go spend a few days on a beach or really anywhere but where we live (Central PA). We just got married last summer though and went on an amazing honeymoon to Wales and England. We are trying to save, save, save for the imminent arrival of the LO. So I don't know if it will happen. It's not like we don't have plenty to look forward to before the end of summer - family reunions, we're doing the Color Run in Hershey PA in two weeks, Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire in August, etc.

I am so jealous of all you east coasters! I have always wanted to see the east coast. As for my FI and I. We have a getaway planned for my 30th bday in July, just a weekend in San Diego. And the 15 annual family camping trip in August. We plan on taking a delayed honeymoon with the baby in December, but that will all depend on how I am feeling.
I'm jealous of all coast people, east or west. I'm in Kansas!
We are planning a trip out East to Prince Edward Island (Canada). I used to go there a lot as a child and teen and can't wait for DH and DS to experience it!!!

If you see me and Ryan (the adorable people in my profile picture) and a short girl with bright red hair and gigantic boobs and a guy who has long hair and looks like an artist because he is an artist, that's us! Say hi! We're nice nerds. I'm awkward as fuck (hm, how awkward IS fuck?), but still, I could be like "OMG I MET MISSNACHOLOVER!" and none of the people with me will know what I am talking about.
I love topsail!! We rent a big ole house on the beach there and love it!!
So many visiting the smoky mountains and NC!!
I'm in asheville so lots to do here, I'm taking the kids to a huge indoor/outdoor waterpark in June, nin and sound garden concert in August, folly beach in September, and we have two pools in our condo development so I'll be there tons.
Before my bfp we were planning a camping trip with white water rafting. Obviously the rafting is out lol. We decided to go a whole different direction and go to Myrtle Beach in August. I'm counting the days. I need a vacation! lol
N14 October Siggy Challenge: How I feel in the third trimester (especially when DH eats my pregnancy food)
We are headed to gatlinburg at the end of the month for a week with the kids for a mini vaca. Had plans white water rafting but that went down the drain.
For the rest of the summer I switch my hours at work so I don't have to get a sitter for the kids since they are out of school so we plan on hanging out at the pool and staying cool.

What's the superstition with home renovations? I'm still trying to talk my hubby out if doing them right now. Seems too stressful. Maybe I can use some superstition to talk him out if it
We are going to the Outer Banks, NC in August for a week! It's a family tradition and so much fun! We've been doing it since I was about 5! I have a large family and it's always nice and entertaining when we all get together!
We have a trip to Oklahoma planned with MIL in early July. She is going down to meet her mom and half siblings.
The end of July, DH and I are headed to Chicago. We are going to a Cubs game. I couldn't let the life long Cubs fan miss the 100th anniversary of Wrigley field. It will be our first overnight without any kids in 3 years. We are considering it our babymoon. We are planning a 4 day trip so that we can check out more of Chicago than just the game.
I just booked my time off yesterday! We're planning on driving up to the New England area and just seeing where the road takes us. We'll spend a day or two with DH's family at a rented cottage on cape cod, but after that we're not really sure! If anyone has recommendations pass them along! The only thing really hoping for is a Ben &Jerry's tour!
We'll also take some weekend trips to the shore too. My ILs have a condo right on the beach.
We have a few RV camping trips planned! At the end of June we'll be staying in the legoland hotel for my eldests birthday. August time well be moving to Coronado and I CANNOT WAIT!!!

Wow, lots of people are going to Gatlinburg! We went for a long weekend for my brother's wedding when DS was 3. I don't really consider that a REAL vacation since we only got to do a couple of things other than wedding celebration. I'd love to take him again to get to do all the fun stuff!
We are taking our first real vacation since DS was born (he will be 6 in September)! We are going to DISNEY WORLD 4 weeks from today, & staying for a week. I am SO excited!! DS is too. Every morning he says he wishes it was the day we get to go to Disney World, haha We have been planning & saving for a year now
