    this is false in many cases
    which is why I had a note by a doc that was put in the permanent chart stating the patient had "cerebral pussy"  instead of palsy
    & you are wrong in so many cases. Your saying that because a transcriptionist made an error on your transcript, which errors sometimes happen in the end, that means no one was there? That's like going to Mcdonald's & ordering a large fry. & because they accidentally gave you a small you proclaim that all Mcdonald's has no workers. Please get it together.     How is a doctor not "legally authorized" to review their own medical script?  A)  It's their script.  They are the one who saw the patient and recorded the notes.  B)  I'm pretty sure med school trumps your certificate.
    There is difference between a doctors note & a doctors script honey. Doctors don't write scripts. A medical transcriptionist does. Doctors write notes, prescriptions, etc. Of course they can review the script. Who said they couldn't review it?

    Umm, what?? After I get a dictation back, I read it and mark any correction so that our office manager (NOT the transcriber...GASP) can make corrections before I sign it and it gets posted in the chart. You see, since I'm the one who dictated it and has to sign off on it, it's my job to make sure it's correct before it becomes part of a patient's chart. Luckily, our medical transcribers are better at spelling and grammar than the OP, so corrections I make are usually something I screwed up, like leaving out a diagnosis. I'm pretty sure I get to add or change a diagnosis or other information without permission from the medical transcriber.

All I said was medical transcriptionist write the scripts. Doctors do not write scripts. If there are errors made in the scripts, of course they can make changes to it.     See the bolded parts. You clearly said it would be breaking the law for a doctor to edit or review the scripts that they dictated. You are clearly an idiot who has no idea what you are talking about. GTFO.

    Okay Miss inspector gadget. Since you have care so much to investigate, how about you include in bold where that person said that it is all up to the doctors to do the scripts on their own? She said that NO ONE but the doctors while be editing the scripts. Meaning that she is saying that the full responsibility of the scripts is on the doctors. That is illegal & beyond false . That's what I told her. "Someone has to review before they are submitted. That's a part of my job to do that. When they are already paying other people to do what you are demanding the doctors do completely on their "own"? & once again, where did I say they couldn't make changes to the scripts if there are errors? That's what you were suppose to be looking for right? Hmmm, guess you didn't find it right? So you can GTFO :) Instead of only including the parts that you want to see, add the full story so you don't end up looking like an ass like the rest of them. Now please go take another seat.

    How can doctors not ever have to look at a script if they don't want to? I'm personally not comfortable signing my name to a legal medical document without reading it first for accuracy. I'm pretty sure the person who said doctors have to review scripts on their own was talking about reviewing scripts for errors after they are transcribed. In any case, I think it's pretty clear that you aren't going to fit in on the working mom's board.

    Wow, how did I go my entire weekend and miss out on all this fun?  Oh yea, I was busy raising my kids ;-)   

    Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

    Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

    It's not against the law for a doctor to write a note directly into the permanent medical record without it being edited.  I can't even fathom how you'd think that was illegal.  And since you asked, I work at a Magnet designated 800+ bed hospital.  Also, I'm 100% certain that if we were doing something illegal, Joint Commission would have nailed us on it years ago.  The firefighting doctor comparison?  I just can't even....  I try not to say nasty things to people IRL or on the internet so I'm gonna leave it alone.  Plus, everyone else reading this knows who the BSC one is.

Like I said before, their is a difference between a doctors note, & a medical transcript. Doctor's write notes & prescriptions, I already declared that. But they do not write scripts.     Well, sweetie, you didn't say that.  You said, because you were staying home and working from home you were raising your LO.  Which means every single person that doesn't do what you do is not raising their LO.  I never said you said I wasn't rasing my son.  I'm just telling you that you come across like a delightful person.  :) AND FWIW I've worked from home while watching my DS because of DCP issues....let me tell you, both DS and my work suffer.  So, unless you are one craptastic employee that doesn't care about turning in subpar work, work suffers.  Or you are leaving LO to fend for themself for the day while you are working....

    I'll take my DCP playing with, snuggling, and loving on my DS while I go make money to keep a roof over our heads over that situation in a heartbeat.

So think what you will but seeing as these bills are getting paid, & my daughter is the happiest baby I ever seen, my life says otherwise. She would come home doing new things she wasn't doing the day before. & I got really depressed because I knew I was missing all of that. & then all the deep scratches on her arms I didn't know where she was getting from was just scary. Both my husband & I realized something had to change because we weren't happy. So I quit my job in the hospital & I started working at home as a medical transcriptionist. The pay is better than what I was making in the hospital. But the best thing is I get to be a mother. Once again I said "I" for all you hyenas lurking & reading this now. Because I KNOW that I WASN'T a part of my babies life before. Like I said, what is an hour? That was all that "I" was getting.


    Knowing that I didn't know what was happening to my child while she was in the hands of other people is what motivated me to pursue a home job. I also feel like I missed a lot of milestone while she was in daycare. So yes, I feel like now that I am at home I am raising my child. Before I only saw her for 6 hours each weekday. Now I get her aaaall day :) I get to spend time with her aaaaall day. While I'm working she is right here. I can take as many breaks I want to spend time with her as long as my deadline is met. So y'all get all pissy if you want to over nothing. I stick by what I said because I know what I meant by it.

    Well, her work is suffering from her complete lack of knowledge of the English language, in any case... which wouldn't necessarily matter if it was work where language wasn't so important, but given that she supposedly EDITS things for a living...
    I would say I type for a living because even when I edit scripts I have to type.

    Thank God you clarified the bolded.  I was beginning to think I was an idiot because I'd always thought a script was a prescription. 
    A script is a written text. Like a movie script, a play, a bible scripture even :) A prescription is written by a doctor or anyone who is medically authorized to make a prescription and it is usually some kind of medicine.
