Anyone pumping and nursing? I have dd a bottle I pumped earlier at restaurant and it was wonderful not to have to worry about whipping the boob out! I just pumped in the car after to replace the feeding but I still want to nurse too. Anyone doing this and think it's doable?
I do this wit gone of my boys! It is nice in case of a pinch!
Just had a nice long girls day at the mall. Pumped twice whole I was out and at stores I didn't feel like shopping in. I feel like I can totally make EP work for me!
So disappointed with the hands free bra...it's annoying to put on and I don't want to just leave it on in between pumps because I feel weird with my nips poking out.

I totally agree.

I got the simple wishes b3 bra and it is good because it has flaps that cover the holes so your nips don't stick out. It Has the clips on the straps too so you can uhe it for nursing if you do both. It's the bra I wear all day and then I have their traditional one I put on at night because it gives more support to the bottles.

This is what I do with the hands free bra! It's worked pretty well so far

I am doing this! I do it so I can leave the house or drink or WHAtEVER! It was waaaaaaay too stressful being the babies only source of nutrition AnD the only one who could feed him I needed some freedom!

Do you find the hands free bra a little too tight to wear all day long? Maybe I got the wrong size. I've heard people wear sports bras to help decrease their supply when they are trying to wean. I'm worried the hands free bra will have a negative impact on my supply.
Pumping in the bathroom at a friends house... I'll call this progress. I didn't stress to rush and make it a point to pump before coming and just told my myself I would make it work.
@lindsay808 I have to admit I suck at being "on time" with my pumps. Sometimes I am steady at 3 hrs sometimes I stern it to four and sometimes even 5 hrs (yikes) however as long as I am still getting at least 6 pumps in, my supply remains about the same.

I recently started pumping 6x a day instead 8x a day and have noticed that I'm getting about the same amount of milk expressed as before, just more ounces each time. It's actually been incredibly great bc I pump fewer times a day w no hit to my supply. Give it a shot - you can always power pump to bring your supply back up if it suffers.
I've been pumping in the car a lot on the way to things this weekend and it has made a big difference in how much time I feel is being sucked from my life! Also, I had my first 10oz pump (5oz on each side) where I had to stop because the bottles were full. That feels like a milestone!
Well so far my husband has been driving but I think I feel comfortable enough to try it with me driving now. I Just have a hands free bra, I put one of DDs blankets over the boob area and tuck it in to the seatbelt. I bring a cooler bag for the milk and paper towels wipe the pump parts when I'm done. I do have the freestyle which is small and battery powered so that makes it easier but I think you could di it with any pump that has a car adapter.
After really committing to adding a pumping session into my routine for the past 5 days I finally got 2 oz today! I know that's not a lot but it was after nursing DD! That's double what I have been getting! I'm thinking I might start adding one more session to my day so I can finally start a stash!

This exactly for me too!
I've dropped to 6 too...I Do have to pump substantially longer though. I was doing 20 min and now it takes 30min. Can't complain that I get to drop my 2am pump though! It's been 4 days and I have stopped increasing in oz but haven't decreased any. Hoping To stay around 40ish oz per day which is enough to build a freezer stash without being ridiculous. How many oz are other people aiming for?
I definitely would like to drop to 6. Just worried about engorgement in between. I'm averaging at about 40 oz a day, which I'm happy with. I'm able to freeze 10+ oz at the end of the day. I'm not sure if I would have any room in the fridge and freezer if I was making more!
Yeah, I'm out if freezer space, we had to go buy a chest freezer today which DH was not happy about. I'm starting to think that EPing is more expensive than formula!
I am at 40 oz per day too with 6 pumps. We also purchased a chest freezer today. My current freezer has very little room left!
We bought a new freezer and new pump recently, plus all the supplies (bags, etc), it's not cheap! I think we are still ahead price wise vs. formula feeding. In the the long run, at least.

Check out the the dairy fairy bras! I think dairyfairy.com
Wow at the people getting 40 ounces I'm basically getting enough to give each bottle he eats at least half breast milk so about 16 ounces or so I usually get around 3-4 ounces each time I pump sometimes mid day only 2 though I m using fenugreek which is helping a lot just need to keep up with fluids and add more hours to the day so I can add another pumping session or two
Yup so thirsty! I've heard coconut water and gatorade can also help you keep hydrated and increase your supply. I Just have a big water bottle next to my pump and try to drink the whole thing every time I pump.
Hi ladies I'm EBFing but lurk this thread as I'll be pumping when I go back to work in 5 weeks. I'm sorry if this has been discussed but does anyone use the Freemie cups while pumping? They seem like they would be great for when I'm at work so I wouldn't have to wear a hands free bra or even a nursing bra. I'll be pumping in the company owners office (he's only in a few times a month) and I'd feel more comfortable being more covered up. Thanks!
@nycgirlcat, I started off LO on Earth's Best Organic Sensitive formula at the suggestion of my sister, and she drinks it just as eagerly as the BM! It might be a little more spendy than non-organic ("organic"- formulas still have their pitfalls), but I can get it down to $23/can by purchasing in bulk through Amazon. Maybe you've switched too many times or too soon? I know that can also cause issues.
Good to know that she likes the organic! I've been looking into earths best for when I make the switch in a few months. I feel pretty clueless when it comes to formulas. How much more expensive is it than other formulas?
23 bucks a can is really cheap in my opinion The kind I supplement with isn't organic ( if I had to choose again I would choose organic but after c section and latch issues just used what he was already used to) and it's 29.99 for the big scoop able container on sale . It does last me a long time tho I am only on second container and my son is a month old

If you are brave you could just use a nursing cover I suppose.
