I think it helps get your ute ready for pregnancy. It was in a thread but my pregnancy brain is out of control and I can't remember which one. God I'm not helpful at all lol.
So who is eating Larabars for the dates? How many Larabars do you think you should eat to get the 6 dates a day?
I am! I googled and it said each Larabar has about 1/4 cup of fruit... so then I looked up how many dates are in 1/4 cup and it appears to be right about 5-6.
So... if dates are the only fruit in your bar (like the Cashew Cookie), it seems like 1 will be sufficient.
I was going broke eating a Lara bar every day so I broke down and just bought lots of dates at Costco. I think I'm going to make my own date bars. And still eat some Lara bars since dates are kind of weird.
I decided to make my own Larabars - super easy! If you're buying all Whole Foods/organic dried fruit it can be pricey, but, as the article suggests, you can always hit up the bulk bins at less costly stores. The recipe: https://leitesculinaria.com/88638/recipes-homemade-larabars.html
Does anyone else get horrible smelling gas after eating Lara bars or dates? No? Just me?
I still eat lunchables on the reg (pepperoni pizza ftw) and lately I've noticed that they changed the amount of cheese you get so it's like a pinch of cheese. WTF how am I supposed to make three pizzas with this teeny amount of cheese? not cool lunchables, not cool.
Cant figure out which thread to throw this in so I figured I would try here. How are y'all setting up your bathroom for post baby? Wipes, pads, giant trashcan etc? And if you are making padsicles how many are you getting/making? I'm trying to stockpile pads
On top of the toilet I have a basket thing with pads, Tucks, moist towelettes and eventually the spray stuff for the vag whose name I'm totally spacing on right now. And a peri bottle. I haven't made padsicles. Slacker.
C had her two year check up today. 30 lbs, 36 inches tall, and didn't make a sound when she had to get blood drawn for her normal 2 year testing plus allergy testing (DH said they took 5 vials!!). So proud of my girly!

I'm also 11 years old! I love me some Lunchables! Adults side eye me when I eat them.
same here! doesn't help that my fave is the bologna one.
Stupid question but should i make those pad things you guys are making if i am having a C - section? I assume not but I did use the peri bottle after my first.
Not stupid lol, I asked this in the L&D thread too! Salty says she used the peri bottle as well after her cesarean... Is that just because it feels better to use? I haven't made padsicles either but I'm wondering if you still feel kinda crappy down there afterwards and it would be worth having a few.

If there's a Middle Eastern grocery in your area, they sell giant packages of dates and are much cheaper than other groceries. I just acquired some this afternoon. I actually find dates more palatable than bar things.
I want to AW it up! My baby sister graduates with a Pharm D today! I am so proud of her!!!! I wish I could see her ceremony in person but alas, face time will have to do
June '14 September Siggy challenge- Favorite things about fall
it's 57 degrees and raining here today. neither me and DS have put pants on and we have spent the day watching Mickey Mouse clubhouse DVR and eating everything we can find in the house. overall I'd say today has been extremely successful.
oh and to top off my amazing day, my abusive ex-boyfriend who I dated for 4 years (which was 4 years too many) got married yesterday and his sister put some pictures on FB. they are so delightfully tacky and absurd and awful that I can't help but love tit the hell out of them purely for my own enjoyment knowing he will see it.
@Rachel5130 I agree. I've spent some time since they got together a few years ago wondering if I should try to contact her to be careful but I decided it wasn't my place. maybe it was just our chemistry together and they are meant to be together and get along perfectly. we definitely were not a match made in heaven by any stretch. so we will see how it plays out I guess.
Did we talk about work thank you cards? Like, one for every coworker, one for the group? What did you guys do?
My office had a baby shower... Some people bought individual gifts, some people threw in on a bigger gift, and some people did both ( although I'm not sure who actually threw in on the bigger gift at all).
Is one card pinned to where we pin things appropriate? A thank-you email? Individual ones (though they'll have to be generic since I don't know who chipped in for what?)

I think it depends on how many people.
For my work shower it was 50 people, so I sent out a thank you email the next day and brought everyone in breakfast (cheap and easy, bagels and cream cheese and juice). There was a few big joint gifts and then a gift from my department. My department I said thank you to everyone individually.
For hubby's work shower there were 8 people, so he went around and thanked everyone individually but I still had him get donuts and bring those in for breakfast the next day.

Bringing in breakfast = instant happiness lol
Like, 25 people?
So, bring in bagels and write a thank-you email? No? Not enough?
@lest12 - I feel you on this one. I'm writing a thank you email to the group and bringing in dunkin donuts for breakfast. I think it was @katekat8721 who suggested that idea and I'm running with it. Who doesn't love a thank you donut or bagel?

Anytime anyone brings food in for the group, everyone is super happy. Seriously. I'm going to do the same!

That's what I'd do! I think it's more than enough. People will just be psyched there's food involved
I bought way too many bagels, I forgot a lot of the chicks in the office would only take a half a bagel. I'd maybe get 4-6pack of bagels or something and a couple different types of cream cheese. Unless you're on the east coast and you're picky about your bagels lol.
I'm getting anxious about how I will have this baby. I just want to know if having a c-section or vaginal birth. Sigh. (I know there's no way to know before Friday)

I'm in the same boat. It all depends how baby A is positioned and right now IDK WTF they're doing in my ute lol. You have to prepare for both, which is doubly as stressful! Hopefully Friday you'll find out baby flipped and you can have the birth that you want

I wrote thank you cards to the people who gave individual gifts with cards. I think I'm going to run with the donut/bagel idea for the group gift with a thank you note - the note will get put on the bulletin board in our kitchen for those who miss the food.

This is exactly what I did (at least in relation to the individual thank you cards...what I plan to do once I get my shit together enough to write them).
So I just had my shower. 3 people got me a diaper bag and removed the tags and packaging. I have no idea what to do since they're all unreturnable. Suggestions?
Who removes the tags?? I can see not including a gift receipt...but ripping off the tags? That just seems completely unnecessary.....

So many people did this with their gifts at our shower too! I was perplexed as well. We're going to try craigslist and if that doesn't work, save it to give our next friend/family member that is pregnant.

I'm working on my 'birth preferences' today! This is a big leap for me since I've been living in denial island about these kids coming out. So far all I have is my name and "get them out safely". That's good enough right?

Usually I love gooey chocolate with brownies and cookies and all of that, but lately all I want is some good, plain vanilla. Yum!
