You would hate my office then.  So casual.  I'm currently wearing jeans and sneakers.

I posted a discussion about hearing ideas on baby shower themes. I now know that my UO is that I cannot have a party without a theme. I had no idea no one else cared about themes! lol I was raised with every birthday being a big giant birthday bash in a specific theme with gift bags, dj's, etc. I'm realizing now...maybe that's a lot, BUT IT SURE WAS FUN!

@Econosaurus‌ - You would hate my office. Nobody ever wears pantyhose, and all the women wear sandals. Upper management even just wears jeans & polo shirts or sweatshirts.

  • UO two: I would 1,000,000,000 times rather my teenage kids to smoke weed than drink. You cannot smoke yourself into a blackout. I lost my v-card when I was 15 and very, very inebriated. I also lost three friends in high school to drunk driving. I know that in most places it is illegal, but I have a feeling that may not be the case when my kids are my age.
I'd rather my kids just not do illegal things at all.  I want them to have the best chance at getting the best jobs possible.  Where I work there are polygraphs and I've seen too many younger people not get hired after having to admit to illegal drugs.

i work in a business casual office and you couldn't pay me to wear tights at work. you couldn't pay me to wear tights in general actually. i went to catholic school most of my life and am scarred from wearing tights every day. i will only wear tights if i have to wear a dress and its freezing outside. i hate them with a passion.

Haha... This! My first several years out of college were spent at a BIG 4 public accounting firms working on financial services clients and business professional dress was king! Then I went to work for a consumer products company and the difference was a huge shock to my system... Still to this day I would not go to work stocking-less and I do live in the South where it's warm most of the year...
  • when I worked for a major law firm, we were allowed from Memorial Day to Labor Day to forgo the tights or hose.  Thank God cuz it got so freaking muggy and nasty and who wants to be stuck wearing slacks, hose or tights when it's muggy?

  • Maybe it's a Florida thing?  I don't know anyone that isn't a grandma (or in that age range) that wears pantyhose.  At all.

I also have a 34 in inseam.  They don't make pantyhose that long.  The woes of tall people.  I also couldn't find maternity pants in "Long" either.  I found one style in one color with DS.  All of my other pants barely passed my ankles.  I know I've veered off topic a little.  Sorry. :)

36 inch inseam here. another reason why tights are the devil. did you try gap maternity pants? they're super long but i had to order a size smaller because they run big. luckily we're pregnant in the summer time so i plan on mostly wearing shorts and dresses (with no tights

Also a catholic school alumn. I feel the same way. I also feel this way about knee socks and plaid skirts lol. Also, I couldn't keep a pair of pantyhose/tights to save my life! Oh the money wasted on buying new ones because I always managed to get runs in them haha.

  • Its apparently an unpopular opinion with my Realtor that you need to let your tenants know that you're putting the house they're living in up for rent when they've said nothing about not moving out, since, ya know, we found out by some randoms coming to our door that it is listed and they'd like a tour.

Holy crap!  36 inches!  You win!  Lol!  I'll try Gap.  I think I heard somewhere that they fit weird in the crotch.  Did you notice that?  Is that why you ordered a size smaller?

yep 5'9 but i have the inseam of a 6'3 man lol. i bought my regular size in gap jeans (the ones with the fold on the bottom were fine in regular length becasue i just unfolded them) work pants a little different. i bought my regular size long in the skinny work pants and they fit but are a little baggy but the bootleg long work pants are ridiculously oversized all over. i didnt know crotch issues but all the pants tend to bag out and not stay up but that might be because my bump isnt big yet so the pants aren't tight. i would say in general next time i order pants ill order everything a size down.

Omg I'm the total opposite. I can't STAND stockings with open-toed shoes. Closed-toed shoes..yes..Open-toed? Absolutely not.
  • I hate kids clothes that have words on them, or cartoon characters. Especially for boys. It's awful.

  • I don't understand women who get wrapped up in planning their birthing experience. It's a freaking medical procedure. You don't see people making a soundtrack when they go in to have surgery, do you? The staff is there for one reason: to help you bring home a healthy and happy baby in the safest way possibly, not make you feel like a pretty pretty princess for a day.
I completely disagree. It's not a medical procedure at all and it's completely different than a surgery.
I can relate when people get too caught up in the teeny tiny details, but absolutely should everyone research and have an idea about what type of birth they would like to have.

  • I Don't care for the color pink, DD likes it so i buy pink stuff, for her. I have never seen Walking Dead or GOT, but I've seen every single episode of MASH multiple times, go figure.

I can see a Leash on a child, I may get one (never needed one with DD) for this baby. But if your child is over 3 or 4 and in a stroller, I hardcore judge you. I know I shouldn't, but I do. That kid is old enough to not run off, IMHO.

I didn't try breast feeding my daughter and I'm up in the air about this baby. I don't like my breasts being touched AT ALL... Ever (poor DH) and I'm not sure I can even get past the feeling of the initial latch.

I love my dogs I really do. Right now my dog is home with age that he somehow hurt during the day and I'm not happy that I can't make it feel better. I do not, however, compare them to being my children.

AFM- I hate the way my DH drives, but always make him drive when we are all together, or ask him to take me places so I don't have to drive. I have no signal on my phone at home and we have no internet, so when we go out and he drives.... It's the only time I have to do ANYTHING on the net. I'm sitting in Home Depots parking lot as I type now.

  • I hate cake.

There I said it. After all the cake talk yesterday I have to admit that I don't like cake. At all. I never have. Am I going to get asked to leave the BMB now?

  • @HisGirlFriday929‌ that is one of my top 3 favorite friends episodes!!

My UO is when people post naked pictures of their child on FB. I have a friend that does this and it pisses me off bc you never know who is looking at your pictures.

This is my first ever UO post!!

It bothers me when I see nude newborn photography too. Not because of the pedo aspect but I always think to myself, poor cold little baby. Lol it's just NMS.

If it makes you feel any better, my newborn photographer brought a heater to use in the area so my baby wouldn't get cold :-)

  • It really bothers me when people post 17 pics a day of their dogs doing various things. I love animals but it just shows that you have too much time on your hands. Also, when people wish themselves or others happy Mother's Day because they have fur babies. Seriously!? Having a dog or cat is nowhere near as mentally taxing or labor intensive as having a baby.

I get what youre saying, but my aunt never could have kids so her fur babies are the closest she has to children. I always wish her a happy mothers day and I even got a her a little happy gift on mothers day because I know how badly she wanted to be a mother.

  • I agree with too many posts to quote, so...

-I am trying to be more active to get out of "lurker" status. And it would bug me too if I were super active on this board and fly by night people only posted here and there.

-I don't think you guys are bullies at all. This is the nicest, most welcoming board I've been a part of.

-I miss wine. I didn't get it with my first pregnancy because it took us a while to get pregnant and we had a m/c and I was so thankful when we finally were pregnant that I thought, it's only 9 months. Who cares? I totally get it now. This time I'm thinking, man a glass of wine would taste so amazing right now.

My own UO...I love dressing DD in pink, girly things. She looks so cute in dresses and bows and I will not stop until she's picking out her own clothes. Which, let's face it, will probably end up being when she's 4.

Got one! I am not trying to hurt anyone's feelings, but I don't like parents who don't discipline. Working at a preschool, I see this a lot. No, you don't have to spank your child! But children need structure. Saying you let your 4 year old do whatever he/she wants is not structure. Tell them no or something!!

So I'm late getting on here for sure! But I was just about to post something very similar to this! It drives me batty! I'm not talking about strangers I see out and about. I have zero room to form any opinion. They could be having a bad day, whatevs. It's when I'm over at a friends house and repeatedly see how they handle their child's behavior. Then later complain to my husband and I about it. When in reality there is little to no structure. We have a friend who repeatedly does this and it drives me nuts!!! Set limits, and follow through!!!
