  • @lissydee I beat level 575 the other day and that's where I'm stuck because the levels don't go any higher than that. I'm on level 241 in Dream World and I hate that stupid owl lol I wish every day that they'd stop doing updates and adding levels so then I'd have no choice but to stop playing.

Then I have my mom who, when she can't beat a level I've already beaten, calls me to go into her Facebook to play for her. So all the levels I hate but beat, I actually have to attempt more than once. Ugh.

There's a half bath (toilet & sink) off our bedroom and there's a full bath across the hall that we recently completely remodeled. I got so used to using the bathroom in our room during the remodel that I only use the new one for a shower. However, I store the tp in the big bath and it happens about twice a week where I have to waddle to the other bath (across carpeted areas) in the middle of the night to get tp.

Also, I hardly ever flush after the 1st use. Pee, it might get flushed once a day. #2, sometimes I'm afraid it's going to clog the toilet so I prefer it to sit and soften a while before I flush.

  • I finished Gone Girl and had nothing else to read so I promptly bought Gillian Flynn's other two books, figured the puzzle out very early in each of them, and finished them way too quickly.

My house is a disaster and I have 3 hours to get it cleanish for when I have to go pick up my husband. Studying for finals, reading, and sleep took precedence.

I read all three books at once too, and came to the conclusion that there is something very very twisted in Gillian Flynn's mind... I was so disturbed by her other two books.  Gone Girl was fucked up, but nothing in comparison to the other two!

I hate cleaning my house, like HATE it. If you saw me IRL, you'd never think this of me. My house isn't dirty because I have kids and a husband but if I was single with no kids and no husband, you guys might see my on an episode of hoarders. Luckily I have them to keep me in line.

I hate cleaning. I especially hate cleaning up after myself. Do you guys know how hard it is to teach your kids to do something that you struggle doing yourself? Its my biggest fault in life. I'm ok with it, I accept it, I don't let it get out of hand, but I still hate it.

I'm so glad you said this because I am the exact same. My house is never as tidy as my inlaws'. One SIL genuinely loves to clean. I hate it so much and it is the biggest fight DH and I get in. He will clean, but generally shoves stuff in different spots. He has stepped up a ton since I'm pretty couch confined right now with HG. It makes me feel better when I get that reality check that not everyone likes to clean. :)

This is me to a T!  My room was always messy as a kid/teen. I knew where everything was but it drove my parents nuts!  I had a clean pile of clothes and a dirty pile...

I'm better now at my own house but only because I have a DS running around. DH and I fight about it all the time. (He isn't any better though so we just get mad at each others piles, mine are accepatable, his are not and visa-versa)

I kind of can't stand when parents tell me how old their kid is in months. I like round numbers or even someone saying "amlost" or "just turned". BTW everyone I am 351 months old!   ;)
I can handle 15 months, 18 months or even 21 months since they grow so fast at that age. After they are two though it drives me bonkers.  They are 2 or 2 1/2 not 27 months. (Although on pregnancy/parenting boards I understand it because we might be talking about a particular age that something happens.)

That being said our toddler room at Church is until 36 months, it was two hard explain otherwise!

Lol. I do this and every single time I will immediately kick myself thinking, "why didn't you just say one and a half?? This stranger doesn't need to know that he is exactly 19 months!!" I guess in the moment I'm trying to be accurate.

Ummm I haven't done the deed with hubby since I got my BFP. Too worried about another mc and I was so sick I wouldn't have anyway. Now that I'm feeling better I still have zero sex drive. He's been "serviced" if you will in between gagging episodes. Where is this magical sex drive everyone speaks of??????

Same here! I shaved my legs today though, so we'll see what happens. My gaggy feeling has gotten better, but we still haven't gotten it on since the BFP. DH says he feels weird that there's a baby growing so closely to where his penis will be. I can't say I totally disagree, but I'm also past the point of caring. My dreams are getting pretty seriously sexy and I don't think I can take the break much longer.

I love that so many people can relate to my messiness and that you and your DH's fight about it too! This, (and me not wearing my Bluetooth in the car) are our biggest and pretty much only fights.
I think as mom's/women we often downplay that part of our lives. I am really good at the 1 hour clean. I can throw everything into my room/closets and run a vacuum/sweep in about an hour. Then light a few candles or open a few windows if it's "stuffy". If you want to come to my house and come inside, I need at least an hour, more if I haven't showered.

  • Yeah, I'm messy too.  DH likes things really tidy, but doesn't like to do the cleaning up himself, to which I say FU MIL!  We used to fight about it all the time.  About 3-4 years ago, we hired a cleaning lady to come every two weeks.  I still have to pick up before she comes, so she's not cleaning around piles of mail and dirty dishes, but I love not having to scrub the toilet or bathtub and not having to dust.  DH cleans the floors on the weekend she doesn't come and tolerates the mess in between visits.  It's actually one of the best things we've ever done for our marriage.  I'll never give up my cleaning lady!

I think I might have to invest in a cleaning lady! That sounds great. I work out of my house and my office stuff tens to take over the dining room even though I have an office upstairs. So much easier to work downstairs...

A cleaning lady might help me keep all that junk where it belongs!

It does keep me in check!  It's a nice little nudge that is then rewarded by a sparkling clean house the next day.  Totally worth it!

I grew up in a house where my mom worked far more hours than my dad and was the primary wage earner.  My dad did a lot of the house stuff (with our help when we were old enough).  My mom did the laundry and cooked dinner and that was it.  They had a fairly even division of chores.

DH grew up on a farm with a SAHM and parents that are a generation older than mine (real 50's values).  They had very obvious "gender roles".  His father has not done a day of housework in his life.  I vividly remember one of the first times I visited his family, sitting in the living room on a Saturday morning.  My FIL said he was hungry for a good breakfast.  "What sounds good?"  "Steak and Eggs."  So my MIL hops up, runs to the store in town and returns with everything for making steak and eggs, whips it up in the kitchen and then serves it my FIL while he never even moves from his chair.

It is so hard to get my DH to realize that I am equally (probably more) busy than he is outside of the home and it is not my job to do anything around the house.  His helping isn't a favor to me.  It's both of our responsibilities and we both need to do it.  I really hate his mother some days.

i think we have a lot in common! dh's mom was a sahm and both my parents worked. my mom did all the housework until she got a cleaning lady but my dad pulled his weight other ways. dh dad is very successful and mil is a sahm. she too had a cleaning lady but had much more traditional gender roles than my house. dh definitely helps out around the house (lawn garbage his own laundry etc) but cleaning is primarily up to me. i also feel like when he cleans he doesnt do that great of a job so i end up cleaning again. i just need a cleaning lady already lol.

I usually consider my audience - if I'm at a baby class with other moms, I say he's 15 months.  If a stranger in the grocery store asks how old he is, I say he turned one in February.

  • Like the PP, I work more than my husband, and so he needs to help out more around the house than he was used to growing up. It isn't easy for me to have my husband be the one my son runs to for comfort, and it isnt easy for him to manage the house and our son, especially during the holidays when I work 80 hours a week.

And while my husband is a great father, it drives me nuts that he can read pre nfl draft commentary, draft commentary, post draft commentary, and commentary on the post nfl draft commentary! But he can't read anything about potty training or sleep cycle establishment.

And then he asks me for help, because obviously I know the answers. Because, you know, when I gave birth all of this magical mommy knowledge got sucked right in.

I'm not too messy, I usually clean up behind myself, but DH is, and I cuss MIL at least weekly in my head for never making him do a damn thing. When we have money in the budget, the first thing I want is a cleaning lady. I don't mind do daily things like laundry, dishes and sweeping the floor, but the big stuff like bathrooms, dusting, etc. are just so hard to find more time for.

    YES!

I work from home and yes my toddler is home with me most days. DH doesn't get that I can't do dishes, laundry, pick up toys AND be done with all my work on Friday afternoon.

It's one or the other. Either I get all my work done and the house is a disaster OR I have to finish my work on Saturday while he takes care of DS. I can't physically do both.

(We will probably move to daycare when this LO is born since I know I can't do both!)
