Our bathroom is teeny tiny so I'd like something that collapses and can be stored out of the way. I am in love with this tub but I'm wondering if it's worth the price (although I see it's on sale today!)

FWIW, I have this one too for the same reasons you mentioned - but I'm a FTM so no clue whether it's worth it!
We bought a cheaper collapsible tub at BRU a few weeks ago, but with this sale, the Boon is only $10 more. And it has much better reviews than the one we bought. I'm doing it.
Bassinet vs PnP: how important is it to have baby directly next to your bed?? The space between my side of the bed and the wall is exactly 24" (and there's no way to move the bed over to give more room). So if I wanted LO next to me, we'd have to get a bassinet, as the PnP is too big. OR if we just wanted her in our room, but not necessarily directly next to me, we could use the PnP at the end of our bed.
So which would you do? Buy both and have baby next to you? Or just get the PnP and put LO at the end of the bed?
@Pepper6 - I have the same sort of space crunch on my side of the bed, so we went with the PnP at the end of the bed because it's usable for longer than a bassinet. DH set it all up last night and it seems like it will be just fine - FTM though, so we'll see!
FTM so no experience here but we received these two bathtubs below, we live in an apartment with a standing shower, the sink one I intend to use until LO is too big for it, then the collapsible one in the shower. Both may be cheaper elsewhere or can be added to a BRU or BBB registry too for completion discounts:
I know this has been discussed, but what diaper bag are you all using? I had registered for the Skip Hop Duo in the chevron print, but I jus trealized that it's out of stock. And it's twice as expensive on Amazon. So I'm trying to decide if we should just go with the same style and just a different print or something different altogether. We're cloth diapering.
@wareagle1220 I'm getting the JJ Cole satchel bag because it had decent reviews and is pretty. That's really all I thought about when I registered for it, since I really have no idea what is better or worse when it comes to these things, and someone has already purchased it so that's what I'm going with! Someone I know has the same exact one, though, and it seems to work well for her. I think one thing that stood out to me from the reviews was that this bag is more "wide" than "deep" so you aren't digging around for stuff as much.

We got THIS one (Skip Hop Studio). Since I'm a FTM, I can't say how it is functionally yet, but I love it! The size feels great, there's lots of good pockets, it feels well made, etc.
What do you use to keep the car seat cool in the summer (while I'm in the grocery or whatever).
good luck fellow Georgian!
seriously though, DS sweats like crazy. I have a black car with black leather interior and a dark car seat (what was I thinking??) we do have the clip on fan that I use while he is in the seat and aim it at him. but otherwise I just try to park in the shade, use one of those shades for the windshield, and we have baby sunshades on all the back windows too.

I've been stressing about this too. Gray car, dark gray interior, Alabama heat. It's stifling for ME when I get in the car. The fan is a good idea.

the fan is a lifesaver! we have one for the car, one for the stroller, and will definitely be buying a few more

***** Ugh, black leather interior and the car seat is dark gray... I just went to Amazon to look for a fan. Did you use one of the "baby" type ones with the foam blades or something different?

@jshrop I have some Frogg Toggs that I get wet and put on the seat and then I cover the whole seat with a white towel. I give DD the Frogg Toggs to play with in the car as well to keep her cool.
Also, I have a Noggle to get airflow to the back of the car when it is running since a rear facing car seat doesn't get direct air venting on them.

Question for everyone: Do you plan on having a "main" stroller, and a "lightweight" stroller? I registered for the BOB stroller I wanted and plan to use that as our main/jogging stroller. However, DH was concerned about having something easier to maneuver for quick trips to the store, etc. so we also registered for THIS lightweight stroller.
Are both a main stroller and lightweight stroller necessary? STMs, which did you end up using the most?
We got the Britax B-Agile travel system. I don't plan on getting any other stroller.
That's the stroller system we got too. I didn't plan for a second stroller, though DH and I are going to BRU tomorrow and taking complete advantage of the free umbrella stroller, and if you spend the 150, free diaper pail thing from arm and hammer. Does anyone know if you spend the 150 do you get both items or just one?
This isn't necessarily gear...but Is there a brand of unscented baby shampoo that anyone recommends. I'm trying to avoid fragrance.
I went with Little Twig - they had a good rating on the EWG website and offer an unscented version.
@wareagle1220 - we went with the Skip Hop Via Messenger in black so DH wouldn't refuse to carry it I messed around with a bunch of different ones at BBB and I felt that this one seemed roomier than some of the others, and plenty sturdy. FTM though, so it's gotten zero use so far.

We bought the Britax B-Agile system too and I feel we'll be pleased with it. It's definitely much nicer than the Graco system we had with DD 7 years ago.
@mmitchel87 The B-Agile is not a jogging stroller. Like the City Mini, I assume there will be warning in the instructions about not jogging with it. The shocks and tires do not compare to a true jogger's.
Has anyone ever used one of these Secure Sleeper type things? I have a fear of dropping or rolling on the baby and was recommended this. Are there other uses for it or is it a waste of money??

Can someone pleases tell me how to sanitize and what? Like all the bottles and pacis? How often does this need done? Should I wait until I'm closer or can I do it today and call it done?

@jshrop - I did bottles, nipples, pacis, and my flanges to my breastpump . You can place them in rolling boiling water for 5-10 minutes or if you have a microwave sterilizer container follow those instructions. I used the Medela steam bags since I had them. I did my stuff last weekend and just put them back away. The nipple and pacis I put into a zip lock though so they wouldn't get anything on them.

I was given a similar kind of one... I was told it's also handy to take if you are going out when bub will take a nap, or even away in the early months - less bulk to carry around than the pnp. I guess bub is also sleeping in 'their' bed and might settle easier?
That makes sense! I didn't really think of it that way!
Is it typical to keep a carseat base in both you and your partner's vehicles (if you have two cars that you use frequently) or do most people just set the thing up in one and use that vehicle for all or most of the kiddo transport? We have some GCs to use up and I'm wondering if it is worth it to buy a second base for DH's car...
What were those booger sucker things called. I know we talked about it early on, the ones that don't get all moldy, but I couldn't find the thread for it. And where can I get them.
Has anyone used a Sakura Bloom sling or something similar?
I'm interested in this too! I registered for a Sakura and though we didn't receive it, I still really like it and was thinking about purchasing it with the gift cards/registry coupon.

The semi-gross out ones that everyone swears by is the Nosefrida (FTM, so I have no valid opinion on its efficacy). The traditional kind is just a bulb aspirator. You can get either at any baby store or Amazon.

Should I get the Baby Ktan breeze or a ring sling like the maya wrap?
Edit - wrong tag
No real experience, but I've bought the Baby K'tan breeze and used on my pup (poor pup) and it's super user friendly. I bought it mostly so my parents could use it easily since baby wearing scares them *eye roll*
elsa1688 - I'm not a huge k'tan fan. Not that it's bad but I think a ring sling is more useful in the long run (I actually use them a lot with toddlers).
Here's my FTM gear question: We received the ergobaby carrier as a gift, so I went ahead and bought the infant insert (for 7-12 lbs). I just opened it and saw the thing is like a down comforter. With a summer baby, and living in CA, would we EVER use this thing in the first three-ish months, during the summertime? Seems like it would be too hot, so I'm debating returning it, but hoping to hear feedback from STM+. (We also received a lightweight Boba wrap that I assume could work for infancy.)
