Pedicures

Who else is going to start getting a pedicure often to get their feet "stirrup ready"? I've got cracked horribly dry bad heels (hereditary) and I'm personally looking forward to this indulgence every week or every other week over the next 9 weeks. The cost of doing business (birthing a baby) I say!

Can't wait to break these out of the box...
ETA: damn photo didn't work the first time.

I just posted on the random thread that my DH tried to help me paint my toenails the other day since I can't reach any more, and it pretty much looked like he dumped the bottle of polish on my feet.  I usually just paint my nails myself to save $ (plus I have a ton of polish, so I don't want it to go to waste), but I think I need to bite the bullet and start going in for pedicures.  I'm looking forward to the treat! :)

  • I just tried to paint my toes for this weekend because I don't have time to get a pedi, and it looks like my 3 year old did it. Oh well....

    Pedicures FTW!

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE pedicures. I get them all year round :)

  • I went for a pedicure last week and it was fabulous. Even if I looked like an idiot while trying to figure out the back massager thing.

  • I don't get them as often as I'd like to. I usually do them myself. Lol but I haven't been able to reach my feet in months. So, I think it's about time I hop to it and get my tootsies all done up. Pink and red are my favorite toe colors!

I always get really bad ingrown toenails whenever I get a pedi :(

I'm jealous of you ladies and your soon-to-be pretty feet

  • I love pedicures. When we can afford it, I indulge as often as the season deems necessary. Come hell or high water, I am getting one this weekend. Even with my jacked up foot from the car accident. It's mostly better and I will tell them to be gentle. I can still reach my toes for the most part, but why the hell would I want to miss out on the awesome massage chair, foot massage, and professional paint job? Plus, I don't really love dealing with the cuticles and dead skin part of it myself. I'm hoping to work a few more into the budget before baby girl arrives as well since it will probably be hard to get away once she is here.

Side note: getting a pedicure after DS was born was the first time I left the house without him. I think he was a month old. I remember how strange it was thinking that it was literally the first time in almost a year that I had left the house without him with me in some form or another, inside baby and outside.

  • This is my every-other Friday indulgence! And when they are kept pretty, I can ask DH for a foot rub guilt-free. Only after giving them a good washing, though. I have the stankiest feet

Oh man I can't wait for a pedicure! I think I'm going to go next weekend. My feet have been so sore the poor girls could use a good message!

@helloblueeyes Yes, you are. It's awesome.

    Am i seriously missing out?

  • I've gotten a few pedicures and I love them, but its not something I do regularly because of the cost. I didn't have a problem painting my own nails with my last pregnancy and it hasn't been a hassle yet, so I don't see a pedicure in my future.

  • I went the weekend before last for DD's first pedicure.  We will go again but to a different place for sure (we had reservations and it still took 2.5 hours to do our pedicures with us sitting and soaking for 45 minutes before they even started us because it was prom weekend and they took all the walk in's first.  Then they did a crappy job on DD's toes, didn't do half of the normal stuff you get for a pedicure for her and charged full price.)  DD did great though!

  • I'm not sure I'll go too often, since it's expensive and I'm cheap, but I may soak my feet every week in the foot tub thingie I have at home, just because they start getting cracked and icky.  If I can get DH to remove/repaint for me, that would be fabulous, but I don't see that happening.

  • I've only had a handful of them in my life, but I have been really really wanting one lately! My mom, sister, and I were planning on getting one together this weekend, but I have to check and see if it's still happening. If not I'll probably just go by myself!

Hmm, this needs correcting then. Maybe a mother/daughter spa day as a shower hostess gift for my mom, lol. She would actually really love that...

    I shall report back!

I love pedis. I had one for my shower last week - so that my feet looked pretty - and it was awesome. Also, the best gift I got for my shower was a gift card for a mani and pedi! Woop woop - I am saving that one for 36 weeks and hoping it stays nice until baby arrives..

  • I should just start putting my pedicure fund into a "buy your own massage chair" fund because, who am I kidding, that's the only reason I love them.
  • This has inspired me to get one this weekend!

  • I am finally getting around to going next week. Hoisting my foot up on our bathroom counter isn't working for me anymore! Looking forward to some pampering!!

I love getting pedi's!! I'll spend the money on those before I'll get a  mani because my mani's never last but a day or two :(

To the ladies who've never had one, you should definitely go have one! Especially if you can find a place that does a good foot rub! By the end of these 9 (10) months, you'll appreciate a good foot rub even more!

The last time I got one they used a new product by the company that makes the shelack gel polish. It isn't a gel, but a month later it still looks perfect, and I have no excuse to go back and get it redone. But I really, really want to spend an hour sitting in a massage chair.

Perhaps I should have posted this during First World Problem Wednesday :)

This just ruined my lunch. Then I realized it was my own fault since I shouldn't be eating lunch while reading a thread about feet.

  • I have gotten a pedicure biweekly since I was preggo for DS! Best thing besides a massage a mama can do to relax!

Pedicures are my one true indulgence, so I get them fairly regularly. I love how relaxing they are and how nice my feet look when I'm done :)

  • Thankfully I can still get to my toes to paint them.  My husband actually asked me a few weeks ago how my toes got painted. lol

I have been wanting to get a pedicure though. I mentioned it to my mom this morning as something to do on mothers day.  She mentioned having all the girls (aunts, cousins, gma, etc.) over her house for a nail party. No way, I want a pedicure - I don't want to give one!

    I got a mani/pedi yesterday.

I was induced with DD, and got a mani/pedi 2 days before my induction.  I received many compliments on my perfectly polished fingers and toes.

    Worth it.

<3 Pedicures! However, I STILL haven't found a place that opens up packaged tools per customer. And I have no idea if any of the salons I've been to have sanitized their tools between each customer. I couldn't stop thinking about that when I got my last pedi. It freaked me out.

With that said, I can't wait to get my pedi before my baby shower. And I did make sure to buy my own tools because the last thing I need to worry about is getting some nasty foot fungus while I'm pregnant.

  • Going for a pedi with my good friend who is expecting her second as we'll! She is 8 weeks behind me so we are going to get spoiled! She will come just before I am due and I will do the same with her!
  • I'm dying for one.
I hinted to DH that for Mother's Day I wanted to get a prenatal massage and a pedicure, we will see.
I love getting my pedicures. Pedicures are the only way I truly treat myself.

I used to go to a place where I had my own box of tools - all the customers did. They would sterilize them at the end of my appointment and put them away in the box with my name on them while my toes dried.  darn, I miss that joint.

  • I'm going to Florida to visit my new nephew tomorrow and I fully intend on getting a mani-pedi while I'm there. It's 90 there so I will be wearing sandals the whole time.

  • I am SO ready!  I'm pretty much to the point where I'll only be wearing sandals from here on out.  My feet have been  hurting so bad lately, so a great foot massage would be awesome.  I broke out our little foot tub last night and soaked in some salts and oils.  Totally not the same, but it felt good.  Pedis are usually a splurge for me, but I hope to do it a few times before LO arrives.

I'm not using childbirth as an excuse to get a pedicure. I LOVE them! It's relaxing and the perfect pampering for an expecting mom.

I just got home from mine :) I went with bright blue on the toes and purple on the fingers. Fab.
