We finished setting up our nursery this weekend after my final baby shower. Yes, we're way early, but they also had us scared into thinking our girls would be here within three weeks! So we finally got their bedding set up. Right now, it's just for looks...I know, no blankets or stuffed animals will be in there when the girls are
We just set it up this weekend. My husband is starting a new job soon as a police officer, so once he's on I have no idea when he'll be around. So I wanted to get the big things done while I have him handy!
We set up the crib frame (registered for the mattress, bedding, etc) and painted about a month ago. We moved into a new place about 3 months ago and the room was looking really pathetic without anything in it. We've slowly been piecing together other things that we've either had in the house, purchased or received from family members. We'll set up the dresser next weekend in the hopes that when we have the shower in a few weeks we can start to put away things in the room and not leave it as a pile of boxes.
Side note: my parents (who live one town over)have had nearly a full blown nursery set up at their house since February. lol can you tell they are excited??
Oh and other random question: for those STMs out there who own cats, what did you do to keep the cat away from the crib? Our cat is absolutely fascinated about anything we put in DS's room but I don't want her to get into the habit where she thinks she can jump inside the crib or claw at the bottom. When DS finally gets here, we want to be able to keep the door open when he is napping so we can see/hear him better without fear of the cat.
We have ours, but it is sitting in the box in the spare bedroom. We are in the process of building a house, so i don't plan to put it together until we move (which should be before baby arrive - fingers crossed!)
SS - we're on #3, so we didn't need to purchase one. It's technically in the nursery, but not set up at all. Our nursery is small enough that we can't have the crib and the queen size guest bed in it together. So we are leaving the guest bed set up for awhile yet in case of visitors and we'll likely set up the crib by 34ish weeks. My theory: even if the baby comes now, she won't be home for awhile. Since we use the room otherwise, there is no rush to set it up.
Haven't bought one yet and really haven't even thought about it until I read this post. I guess I need to get myself in gear....I have been more focused on childcare because I need to be back to work four weeks after the baby.
