If you can already feel your LO move...

...have you noticed movement patterns yet? I know it's still too early to keep regular kick counts, but I have noticed that our teeny little super guy is active about the same time every day. Some days moreso than others, but I usually get some kind of movement at the same times each day. Just thought I would see how many others have this too and how active your little ones are! :)

Re: If you can already feel your LO move...

  • I use to just feel him at night, now i feel him through out the day, mostly when I'm eating. I always make DH's lunch at 8am, he was off this week so i slept in and LO woke me up moving around like crazy, i checked the clock sure enough it was 8:04. It's crazy how I'm starting to notice patterns.

  • Seems like I feel more in the mornings and evenings (between 7-9am and pm) than most other times of day. I'm not very active or busy so it's not that I just tune it out ether. I will say though that my little girl seems like shes going to be a dancer/kickboxer because she is active all the time (just more so during the time I said) and I can feel summersalts and twists/twirls along with kicks and punches. I really didn't expect to feel this much this soon being a FTM.

Shes active when I climb into bed and right after I eat. I have been noticing some movement I think could be hiccups. I like to pull my shirt up and watch my belly move when I feel the hiccup movement. Its like a wobbly bowl of jello. I love it!
  • I feel him most around 2pm every day- hes like clock work!! And I know if I've been walking around for awhile or busy (like grocery shopping) as soon as I get home and lay down he is up and moving.
  • Very cool to hear that others are noting patterns in activity this early! Our little guy is a morning sleeper. He usually doesn't do much until about 9/10 am - then he will go until I eat lunch. He stays pretty active in the afternoon and in the evening until I eat dinner. As far as I can tell he doesn't move much through the night either - maybe one of the 5 times I get up to go the bathroom he is moving. I hope that indicative of his sleep patterns on the outside, lol. :D

  • @ConversationFear... I don't mean to high jack your post or anything, but can I ask where about are you ladies feeling your LO move?  I THINK I am feeling some kicks but they are very low (about 2 inches above my pubic bone).  Is this baby or gas?

  • hehe yes! I usually feel my little guy as I'm waking up, around lunch and towards the end of my work day- aka  when I'm hungry! haha Also he seems to love anytime I drink chocolate milk. He seems to like to hang out on my Left side, and even did so at our anatomy scan.
  • Baby girl's movements are still pretty light, so I only notice them in the mornings around 10 am, and then in the evenings between 8:30 and 9:30. Sometimes if I'm going, going, going and then sit down for a few minutes there are a couple wiggles. But I'm sure she's moving more and I just can't feel all of it. I think the pattern is more my schedule and when I'm sitting still than baby's schedule. If that makes sense.

I started feeling baby that low and she has started to move up a bit (at least the movement has) and now likes to kick just below my belly button. I joked with my dad yesterday that it's getting to the point where I won't feel quite so weird about letting him feel her move where as before I just didn't feel okay with having my fathers hand quite that low on my stomach.
  • Babies tend to be lulled to sleep by the rocking motion when we are up and moving.  That's why we tend to feel them more when we are at rest.  They're like, hey - where's my rocking?

I tend to only feel DD when I'm laying on the couch or in bed.

  • Im so jealous of you girls!  I think this week Ive started to come to realize that the twitches and almost popping feeling I am having is probably LO.  But nothing so strong that I can see a real trend!

I can say that I have felt him/her a little bit more during the day when Im sitting at my desk

@gingerkid9989- I know how you feel.  Im a FTM and for a week and a half I was also struggling with the whole "is this my baby or not?"  I think for me, I liken it to, gas I think you feel deeper then the baby kicks.  My baby kicks (if thats what they are haha) seem a little closer to the surface.  Mine feel more like twitches, or little pops.  Mine right now are happening right under my belly button and about an inch under that on the left side at first and now the right side.

  • usually btwn 7-10pm he is most active. Also if its been too long since I last ate. I felt what I think is hiccups the other day, it was kinda weird but also cool. I could actually see my stomach moving on the left side.

  • @gingerkid9989 - mine are still pretty low. On rare occasions I will feel something closer to the middle of my tummy, but most of what I feel is still low, jumping on my bladder and cervix, bless his tap dancing little heart. :x

  • I feel him mostly in the evening when I finally have a chance to sit down and relax. The rest of the day I am too busy with my toddler to notice movement. He is definitely less active in the womb than my daughter was.

That's about where I started feeling the baby move at the beginning. The feeling started moving up right under my belly button at around 20/21 weeks. The first little movements felt like gas, but they get more distinguishable. Hope this helps answer your question :)

Definitely! I feel her first thing when I wake up, then usually mid-late afternoon and again in the evening (if I sit down) and when I lay down to go to bed. It's just wild how much you can feel once they get going!! The last 24 hours she was extra active and it almost makes me feel queasy. But I wouldn't have it any other way!

Mine is pretty much this. He's crazy most days. Some days out of control, like he is purposely beating the crap out of me :) Then around an hour before I fall asleep I feel nothing until about 9 the next morning.
I echo I hope this is his schedule come September!

  • Yes, my little girl is more active in the mornings all the way through until the afternoon... then she sleeps. Sometimes I will feel kicks in the evening but rarely.

  • haven't really noticed a pattern yet, other than before or after eating.  He seems kinda random!  But with my first, it was def more like clockwork, esp in the evening.

  • Yes-- I feel like baby is practicing for a gymnastics competition every night just as I'm falling asleep. And lots of movement in the morning, bright and early at around 6am. I also feel him/her moving around after I eat lunch.

  • No real patterns yet but I feel him the most when I am at work during the day sitting still at my desk. His movements still feel pretty low, below the belly button for sure. Actually yesterday he found my bladder, that was unpleasant even though the movements aren't that strong yet.

I always feel the baby shortly after I eat. And, this is going to sound silly, I swear the baby moves more after I empty my bladder. I think baby gets cramped when I've got to go to the bathroom, and once my bladder is empty, the baby realize s/he has more room to move around. I could be making that up, though.
See - now I feel mine more when my bladder is full, and I thought maybe I was feeling him more because there is less space so he's hitting more things?

I usually only feel him at night when I'm sitting watching tv. But this morning, I felt him when I was waking up. I also will feel him more after I eat sometimes.

I still feel him fairly low as well.

  • I usually feel movement during my hour long commute, more so when I'm on my way home. Oddly whenever my boss is talking I start feeling uterine gymnastics too. Maybe LO is trying to ninja kick him for having me in the lab instead of laying on the couch eating ice cream

  • Everyday around 1 or 2 is when my LO is most active. I have actually been able to SEE it's little kicks and jabs around my belly button! Other than that it's completely random! And when I eat ice cream and apple pie ☺️

Glad I'm not the only one that starts to feel semi-queasy thanks to the twisting, turning, and flopping around. It's still such a strange sensation to me.
My LO loves twisting and somersaulting on my drive home from work and I have been getting quite queasy. As a FTM, I was surprised how soon/much I can feel my LO.

  • It's hard to tell b/c I only really feel her when I'm sitting. Every once and a while she'll give a good kick when I'm standing, but that's rare. Everything I feel is really low and usually toward the back of my uterus.

  • Mine is super active! Mostly around midnight every night and around 10-11 am every day. Mine is active enough that I can do kick counts daily :-)
  • I tend to feel him the most when I'm laying down or sitting. This little guy seems to be really active. I always feel him first thing in the morning and before bed. Then intermitted throughout the day. I haven't really kept track as I am far too busy chasing after my twins. I seem to feel him all over my stomach. He was head down at the a/s so I assume his feet around kicking me up near my belly button. I also get headbutts to the cervix (so fun!) and punches low.

  • It seems my LO is more active in the morning once I'm up, again around lunch time, then she's pretty quiet during the afternoon then it's on and off in the evening. Some nights she likes to move more as I'm falling asleep. It's not to the point where it makes it hard for me to sleep yet but I can only imagine it will get to that point when she gets stronger!

@gingerkid9989 I feel movements down really low too (pretty close to the cervix area, I've had the lightning crotch a few times so far) and I also feel movements closer to the belly button as well. She likes to move all of her limbs!

  • She becomes very active shortly after I have ice cold water or Trident cinnamon gum...but sure why, but those seen to be the two ways i know i can get her moving about. She likes to wake up at 3a, too...
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • I don't feel any consistent movement yet. Some days she'll be crazy active, and others I barely feel her. It's always when I'm sitting or laying down.

I was actually just thinking about this the other day. I feel her every morning when I wake up, usually during DS's nap time, and right when I am going to bed in the evening. She seem's to be anti sleep already lol =).

  • I always feel my little one at night before bed as well. Other than that it seems to be sporadic.

  • almost every night before going to bed and recently I've noticed almost every time I'm hungry. It's like she's saying "Hey Mom! eat some food! I hear your tummy growling!" oh and if I poke and prod she pokes back.
