I agree to a certain extent @chelseamb11, but have you driven or ridden on a motorcycle? It is SKETCHY sharing the road with some vehicle drivers today! I'm definitely an aware driver whether I'm in a car or on a motorcycle, some people? Not to much. I don't think it should be singled out to just motorcycles, but there is a wayyy worse situation to happen if a car cuts a bike off versus a car cutting a car off.
But I totally agree about some bikers cutting in and out. They are STUPID. And they give all the rest of us a bad name.
The movement should be "Pay The Fuck Attention" in general.
I have always thought that once you get to the life in prison stage or death penalty stage we should just put you on a plane, give you a parachute and throw you out over some designated prison island where the only thing we do is make sure no one gets off the island. If you survive great. If you don't oh well. If a group of you join together to form a community more power to you but you are on your own for food, shelter, etc. The courts have decided you don't belong in society so let's take you out of it and not have to pay so much for you. I know there are cases of wrongful imprisonment which would make this not work but it is still how I feel overall. Maybe only do it after a certain appeal process?
So essentially another Georgia or Australia? Both of those started as "prisons".
I hate long hair on males. My son has a fro that irks the hell out of me. Boys should have short hair! I can't wait to cut that shit off.
I used to LOVEEEE shaggy hair on boys when I was a teenager. Now? It KILLS me. A little shag isn't a big deal, but messy, greasy, unkept? Ugh. My 8 year old nephew's hair is past his shoulders and it's curly.. but he won't let anyone brush it. My sister and BIL just won't cut it. It was kindaaa (sorta-maybe?) cute when he was younger (like 2-3).... but not anymore.
eta picture because I freaking loveeee this picture. When he was 2 or 3?
I LOVE THE NBA!!! I'm crazy excited about this years playoffs. My team didn't make it (Go Magic!) but the series have been SO SO SO good and we're still only in the first round.
WOO HOO BASKETBALL!!!
BOO! Basketball is SO boring. It is *almost* as boring as baseball!
Baseball = the worlds most mind numbing sport. Basketball = 48 minutes of pure action.
So in no way shape or form is baseball CLOSE to being on basketballs level. B-)
If you consider pure action to be men making squeaking noises running back and forth while throwing balls through hoops, then I guess you are correct. :-q

Baseball is fucking AWESOME. Go Twins! Basketball and hockey are also acceptable sports. I don't care about football. Football is boring.
I don't agree with capital punishment. Too many innocent people sentenced to die. Plus, it costs the tax payers triple or more what it costs to log in prison an inmate. Yep I believe they deserve what they dish out but the person throwing the handle or inserting the medication is no better IMO.
I can't stand the "watch out for motorcycles" movement. A) You should be watching out for EVERYTHING, so what makes motorcycles so special snowflake? SO many motorcyclists think that because they're on this tiny thing that can zip between cars, the rules of lane usage and other things don't apply to them. So this whole thing acting like they're victims is BS to me.
I disagree. As a responsible rider who has had jackasses pull out in front of me, I fully support the watch out for motorcycle riders. A motorcycle is not a car. And cannot just slam on my breaks without risking the possibility of flipping head over my 300lb motorcycle. Drivers don't pay attention for us and while some may be risky, to put the rest in a blanket category and say we are "playing the victim" irritates me.
ETA: I'm a special snowflake because it's my 300lb bike against your 2 ton vehicle. Like to take a guess who is more likely to survive.

I agree with this 100%. My best friends hubby died in a a motorcycle accident when someone pulled out in front of him. There are certain precautions you should take when your driving with motorcycles. He wasn't irresponsible. The other driver was. But he paid the ultimate price for someone else's irresponsibility.

Agreed. My dad was in a terrible motorcycle accident. Two dummies were playing chicken with their cars and didn't see him.

For children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow.
I think a jury of your peers is complete crap. Many people shirk their responsibility to get out of jury duty instead of doing their civic duty. Instead, I wish this country would move to professional jurors like in some other countries ie France. These people would have a better understanding of the law and more accurate interpretation of convictions and sentences. I think a lot of jurors don't understand the law and are persuaded by stupid small facts as they wait for a "csi moment" that doesn't exist.
Along the motorcycle lines, I get really irritated at bicyclists here. The law is already to give them 3 feet when on the road, now they're pushing for 4. I get it, trust me...two broken elbows because my bike fought a minivan and lost, I get it. BUT if I'm going to give you your space then you need to do two things; 1) use it!!! Too many cyclists still like to ride with traffic when they have more than enough room. And 2) understand that your bike is still a 'vehicle' and you have to obey traffic laws as such. It is tragic when these people get hit but if you're hit blowing through a red light or stop sign I have less sympathy.
Btw I agree with the watch out for motorcycle campaign. Yes we should all pay attention for everything but every little reminder helps.

I totally get what you are saying. Perhaps if all the drivers (of any vehicle) in RI weren't assholes, things would be different. I am very conscientious of any other vehicle around me, and nothing makes me madder than when the dick on a motorcycle comes speeding down the highway, zooming in and out of lanes, and even passes people on the dividing lines. But then again I get just as mad when people do that in cars. And trucks. Oh FFS I HATE RI DRIVERS.
The campaign exists because it is a noticeable problem. People that drive vehicles do stupid things on the road it isn't just the irresponsible motorcycle driver. If you were a rider you would know how big of a problem it is. Because you don't have the knowledge you are blind to the severity that is actually present. You can't group a small group into a larger category and say it isn't a problem or shouldn't get noticed.

Before I can make an informed opinion on this, I have to go rewatch Escape from New York.
One of DHs coworkers was killed in a motorcycle accident almost 3 years ago. A woman driving a car didn't see him and ran him off the road. This guy was an amazing deputy, a great father, and all around good guy...and very good driver both in a car and on a bike!
I think every person could stand to be more careful of their surroundings while they drive and think the campaigns to spread awareness (about motorcycles, texting and driving, etc) are all money well spent. We can save a lot of lives if it gets through to people.
I don't think people should have sex unless they're ready for the possibility of a baby. Ie: teenagers, one night stands, non-serious relationships. If you're ready to start a family (or a pregancy wouldn't be "unwanted), then by all means. I just feel like so many babies are unwanted in this world and it breaks my heart.
Is that a uo? I feel like it could go either way.
I know its Friday, but I don't care.
I think this is a silly mentality to have, and only perpetuates a sexist belief that women are only good for having babies. There fore keeping us barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen. Why aren't people just allowed to like having sex? Teaching only abstinence unless you're trying to have a baby will only result in skewed sexual identities. Should people be aware of the consequences that heterosexual sex CAN lead to a baby? Absolutely. But to ONLY have sex if you're ready for a baby? That's just silly.

Not all unwanted pregnancies end in unwanted children. My ds was an unwanted pregnancy and beieve me ds is not an unwanted kid. Hes wanted and loved.
And this isnt just me, quite a few of my single mom friends have gone through that shift in feelings.
Also, if you think sex should only had when you want/could handle a child. Does that mean once you and your partner are done having kids your done having sex?
And wouldnt it be better to educate teens about birth control? I went to twodfferent high schools one private christian one public. I learned a litmore about my sexual health at public and where to get bc/condoms/plan b if you couldnt afford it your parents wouldnt approve it. I was a sexually active teen who got on birth control and used condoms

That's absolutely correct. I forgot about that!!!
Yes like this but with less intervention.
