I was making lunch in the kitchen while LO was lying in a bassinet in the living room. After a moment of complete silence, Elise wailed in her first cry that sounded like pain. I ran to her and she was all red and seemed like she was struggling to breathe. There was some spit up that came through her nose, but I came to the quick conclusion she inhaled part of the spit up.
I pat her back and cleared her nose with an aspirator, but her breathing still seemed raspy. I calmed down some once I knew she was breathing, but DAMN was that scary! I called the pedi, and they agreed that I should just keep her upright for 20-30 minutes and watch her closely.
Totally ugly cried after getting off the phone. This FTM stuff is scary sometimes :-(
