April 2014 Moms

morning snark

For your morning entertainment...

For those of us who haven't had our little ones yet, and especially for those still working and/or getting hounded on a daily basis as to when the baby is coming, this is the sign that I posted on my cube after an obscene amount of comments during the last few days.  My original thoughts for this sign were a bit stronger than what is written, but it is an office, and I'd like to be able to keep working until she's here.

FYI, my other considerations for the last line were:

-do not pass GO, do not collect $200, just go away

or

-now go away, or I will taunt you a second time!

  • Jedi mind tricks, love it!
  • I changed my fb picture to "keep calm I'm still pregnant"

I've officially went and apologized to my friends that were over due recently. I had no idea it was this annoying.

A friend of mine went 5 days overdue with her little boy in February, and I didn't contact her, but checked her FB page for updates.  After experiencing this end of things, I'm so glad I didn't bug her everyday.

People are irritating. I'm soooooo tempted to put something passive aggressive/outright snarky on FB , but every time the urge comes on, I remind myself how silly I would feel if I did and how many more questions/comments I would have to field.
However not being able to sleep/nap while I'm on leave and taking drowsying antihistamines for PUPPP because people won't stop calling is turning me into a cranky, spaced out zombie.

Did the sign work or just start more conversations?
  • The sign worked well.  I avoided a lot of stupid questions.  Most people who walked by the sign started laughing, and a few people who heard about the sign came over just to read it.  The conversations were kept to those who actually cared enough to talk to me about more than just "is she here yet".  So the sign is back up this morning as I am again, unfortunately, at my desk.

  • Love this! It's not even my due date and I'm getting flooded with texts and sympathetic looks at work. Go. Away. Byeeeeeeee! Lol
  • This is a the main reason why I refused to give my coworkers a specific due date from the beginning. When they asked when I was due I would just answer mid April. It seemed to help a lot. However, instead of due date questions, multiple coworkers frequently asked how much weight I gain frequently throughout my pregnancy. I wanted to punch them. It took every ounce of self control and professionalism I had not to say something snarky back.
