That is my tat exactly, but it's a bit larger on me.
(Btw, sorry about the huge url. I'm on mobile
My dad was my whole world, he meant everything to me. Then I met DH and he became the center of my affection. When DH proposed to me and I realized I was going to spend my entire life with him I decided. I am not interested in life after death if it can't involve DH and my dad. If tattoos were going to be the only thing that separated us in death then I will stop it.
I got a white outline tattoo of Florida. Florida is my birth place and my safe haven. It was where I spent most of my life with dad and where I promised my life to DH. It is in a location that will seldom, if ever, be seen. It is white so it is almost invisible because it is not meant to be shown. It's sole purpose is to keep my family together in this life and any other.
Mine never sees sunlight and I don't use tanning beds so it's holding up well. My DH had some white on his calf tattoo and it had faded to flesh tone after about 8 months.

Edited- and yes, I will be getting "For such a time as this." The Lily is in honor of my mom (her name is Lili) and Luke 12:27 (Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.)
I have tattoos on both feet, my first one are my Dads birth month flowers with five flowers for each person in my immediate family (when I have children I'll add a flower to to it) and the tattoo artist who did it sucked and didn't apply enough pressure, so when it started peeling ALL THE INK came out of my foot. Two weeks later I had it redone and it hurt much worse.
My other foot has paw prints for each of my furbabies, I have my zodiac symbol tattooed on my hips and my constellation on my ribs. I'd like to add the quote "I know nothing with any certainty but when I look at the stars I can dream" to my ribs.

I have 9 tattoos. I don't have pics... I should take some.
1. a magnolia in the center of my upper back between my shoulder blades. It's Louisiana's state flower and I got it during a time when I was missing home a lot.
2. a lady bug on my pelvis -represents my daughter because we called her "bug" when she was a baby.
3. purple and gold fleur de lis on my right foot - represents LSU - my alma mater.
4. Script "It was then that you carried me" on my left foot. I got that during a particularly difficult time in my life.
5. On my right thigh, I have a hummingbird with a pink flower as a tribute to my grandmother because she collected hummingbirds (like figurines) and pink flowers were her favorite.
6. On my left rib cage, I have a series of stars that cascade from my shoulder all the way to near my belly button. Each star represents a member of my family.
7. On my stomach I have a heart that I drew myself.
8. On my right rib cage I have an infinity symbol with the word "love" in it.
9. On my left wrist I have the words "All of it" and "John 14:1-4" - I was engaged before my current husband. He committed suicide on February 1, 2011. "All of it" was something we told each other all the time and it was how he signed his note to me. The Bible verse was one he had marked in his Bible that I found when he left it on the desk.
I have plans for others in the future.

My current husband has always known about him. I have never hidden what happened from him. My DH is an amazing man and completely understands. It's not something that is talked about every day, but every so often he asks something ... His picture still hangs in my daughter's room because she loved him so much and he was such a good man. Ugh... I'm starting to cry. Ok... enough of that. Sorry.
