Still in labor , just got my epidural so enjoying the reprieve before I finish dialating and need to push. Baby is doing great on monitor just hoping I am ready to deliver sooner rather than later can't wait to meet her and after being at this for 24 and half hours so far I am starving.
Why would a Dr say that?!? The nurses kept saying similar things, and I had a pretty easy labour relatively speaking.
FWIW, I was induced under similar circumstances. It took a long time (3 days of gel) for me to go from zero to them being able to break my water and start the drip. But it wasn't painful... just boring. I only had 5 hours of active labour, and went from 5 cm to having her in 30 minutes, with only a few pushes.
I've been there! My first was an induction from 0 at 36w4d. Scared out of my mind, but it went pretty smoothly. It doesn't help now, I'm sure, but try to remember that millions of women do it every day. You're no exception! You got this!! It'll be SO worth it!!
So I guess I had a right to be scared because the labor and delivery nurse from hell crossed my path last night. After laboring hard for over 24 hours on pitocin inducement, no food, and exhaustion this nurse comes on for shift change for last night overnight shift, (the previous two nurses I had are awesome btw). She comes into to up my pitocin and I ask when Ill see the doctor again to check progress , she is like no one is going to check you, so I ask what's the plan then, she walked back to the hall ignoring me. Long story short she is a bitch like this to me all night. Around 11 p.m. last night I start having these crazy burning pain all down in my vaginal area on top of having hard contractions, I tell her I don't think everything is OK, she told me to just breathe through it and that I'm fine. Well the pain progresses until I'm screaming and blacking out finally another nurse comes in from the hall after hearing my screams, dh had to tell me this part I was in so much pain to the point I don't remember, she observes me basically having a seizure and called in two more nurses and a doctor they immediately put me on a stretcher and bring me back to where they do c-sections. At this point I'm shaking uncontrollably they have to put me to sleep and cut me open. Next thing I know Im waking up it is 4 hours later and they are giving me a blood transfusion, dh tell as me we had a baby and she's healthy and fine:). Apparently the umbilical cord had gotten wrapped around baby's neck twice and was preventing her from descending into the birth canal, on top of that I had several fibroids that burst when they cut me open hence the blood transfusion. But on the bright side I am now the proud mother of a beautiful baby girl, Josephine Grace or Josie for short.
I am so sorry for your ordeal. Glad to hear you and baby are ultimately ok although I know that is not the way anyone wants to remember the birth of their child.

Oh my goodness! I am sorry you had to deal with her and that you had this scary ordeal happen to you. I am glad you both are safe and well. I would definitely be reporting that nurse. Unacceptable.
