I'm sorry it's been so long since my last update. (Read here for the original postings: https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12230904/feb-7-update-please-pray-for-my-son-20-wk-ultrasound/p1). Honestly, we have simply been going for the heartbeat check every week. Isaac is still with us and I am currently 33 weeks. There has been a lot of cyst growth in his kidneys which, although expected, is not a good sign. It indicates further deterioration of the kidneys. His head growth is on schedule, but both his arms and legs have been stunted. This, too, is expected. They were not able to get a measurement of his abdomen because of how scrunched up he is. They are estimating his weight at 3 pounds 15 ounces, but that includes all of the fluid gathered throughout his body. We are still essentially waiting for him to pass in utero or at birth. It's a very difficult place to find ourselves, but we have incredible peace in the midst of the pain. And we aren't ruling out a miracle of course!

DH and I are doing well. We are still living with a wide range of emotions on a daily basis. I was really touched at our last appointment seeing his hand cradling his face. He looked so peaceful, and I hope he is. I am including the picture we received of this. All you are looking for is his head and arm/hand. His head is almost horizontal resting on top of his hand. We still feel God's peace and can easily recognize that He is in this journey with us. As long as we remember to live in today and not focus on things that could cause pain in the future, Gods grace is more than sufficient.

Jenandbrett, I wish I could hug you. And honestly I am so inspired by the way you have handled all of this with such grace and dignity. You make me want to be a better person, and I really mean that.
