There is nothing more irritating at this point than those of you who are complaining about the wait for your LO when YOU AREN'T EVEN 40 WEEKS YET.

You're excited, we get it, but crying and complaining about being 38 weeks gets you zero sympathy from those of us who are 40w+ at this point.

And don't be jealous of those beginning of the month mommas with outside babies either- last summer you were still sippin margaritas and they were puking their guts out after they got their BFP.

So put on your patient panties and be thankful that you're not facing a medically necessitated induction at this point.

Word. I'm not even ay my EDD yet and even I've been annoyed at the impatient ladies several weeks out trying to find ways to induce/membrane stripping/etc. Unless it's deemed medically necessary or just happens naturally, it's nonsensical to try to kick baby out early and whine about it when it isn't happening.

I honestly have trouble understanding 38 weekers who actively want to get their baby out. I may be tired of pregnancy symptoms, but I'm so not ready for this little guy to be an outside baby. From everything I hear, babies aren't as ready before their due dates. I was "planning" (mentally at least) on definitely going over 41 weeks, since I heard that was average, and was pretty happy with that idea. If I have to be induced tomorrow, I will be pretty sad.

Hope all you overdue ladies get to meet your babies super soon.

I know I'm only 4 days over at this point but I can definitely sympathise with you ladies! Particularly as I have absolutely no signs of anything happening at all - my MW even said I was closed tight. Every day I wake I hope that @Pineconey or @Deidremaria have posted good news!!

Even at 4 days it's annoying. Everyday that you wake up and realize it's not near is annoying. It's worse when you have "signs of labor" the night before and go to bed only to wake up in the morning and realize that it was only false labor.

Going to speak up as part of the caboose. I hear you and it's a good reality check which we all need. Everyone has their own reasons for their vents/whines/complaints. So here are mine, this pregnancy has been high risk in more ways than I can count and while I'm thankful for every day (and have been since starting bedrest at 25 weeks) I've also been thinking LO would be coming any day for 13 weeks so it's definitely put me in a bad head space. So when there are whine/vent/TP posts I can vent with the best of them.

Sorry if anything I've vented about pissed you or other overdue ladies off... come May when you're snuggling your littles I hope there will still be someone willing to talk me off the ledge so I bow down with respect to your "over-dueness" but if LO decides to make one of my daily prodromal periods the "real deal" before then I will be very happy.

I agree with @ColleenSwerb‌. I do feel for those of you who are overdue, but come on. I don't recall any "PSA" for those due earlier in the month to advise some of you to stop complaining at 38 weeks. This isn't a problem relegated exclusively to the caboose. As for me, as mentioned in another thread, I might actually be the only one hoping to go in to May. So be it.

I know, I think of you guys every time I get impatient. I'm a couple of days short of 40 weeks, and I think it would be so much more tolerable if I hadn't been high risk this pregnancy yet with very few actual complications. I have one Dr telling me they don't want me to even go past 39 weeks and another telling me it's fine to go past 41. I have no idea until Monday if I am going to be induced on Tuesday!! For me it's more frusteration than impatience. I do know that I would never want to have another preemie and I'm glad I've made it this far!

Did I miss something? I didn't read this as people not at 40 weeks can't complain (I complain about symptoms at least once a day) but more as STFU to the "I'm 36 weeks and I just had my membranes stripped WHHYYYYYYY haven't I had my BABYYYY yet? I expect him to be 4 weeks early for no reason other than my desire to SQUEEE" (I realize that no caboosers are 36 weeks at this point, but the board was overloaded with these posts at one point.

I don't care what anyone thinks. If you're 37-39 weeks and are posting about how you have such and such symptoms and are you in labor, or asking what you can do to jump start labor, etc etc all I have for you is one million eye rolls. You are not in charge of this process. Like it or not.

What I was responding to was the "crying and complaining when about being 38 weeks gets you zero sympathy" part. I've been crying and complaining about contractions since 25 weeks when I went on bedrest. This has nothing to do with wanting LO out or wanting others to tell me whether I'm in labor and everything to do with having a cranky ute. I don't have swelling or carpal tunnel, but certainly have tons of sympathy for those who do. I'm 38 weeks and have tons of sympathy for the overdue moms (I seriously can't imagine right now) but I also have tons of sympathy for those who never experienced third trimester (as much as it sucks, the NICU and preemie momma guilt sucks way worse). I agree with others, I'm just looking to know I'm not alone in my experiences, get some back pats every now and then, and get a reality check when I need it. Otherwise I don't know what I'd be here for. So yes, I did read the OP as saying, "if you're not overdue you don't have any credibility to complain" and while I get the annoyance I don't see the point.

I didn't take this as "no complaining allowed before 40 wks!" but more as "if you complain about why is it taking so long and you're not even due, the overdue ladies are gonna be annoyed." and rightfully so.

At 38+ wks, it would be silly of me to say whyyyyy so longggg when the calendar hasn't even reached my EDB. But I still reserve the right to lament that my Zofran days seem to be here to stay. (My husband has actually suggested the name Zoe Francesca for the baby, since it's been such a major part of this pregnancy... I think he was kidding...)

Meh. At 38 weeks I was just as anxious and wanted to know if anything was a sign of labor. At 40+ I'm just as anxious to get this baby out. I've gone through it all, so can't judge if anyone else still behind me is as curious/excited/anxious as I was too.

At almost 42 weeks it has nothing to do with excitement. It has everything to do with the danger of my placenta failing, and being PgAL only makes it worse.

This. Add me to the list of been pregnant for a year, and the longer I go overdue, the more anxious I get! It doesn't help that suddenly mt MW wants to see me every couple of days to do NST's and is constantly reminding me to monitor movement because going overdue increqses your risk.

So yes, when someone is 38 weeks and is wondering "is this labor" or "how can I induce now, I'm over being pregnant" there is some sympathy but mostly annoyance!

Got it! Thanks for clarifying ladies. I'm grouchy and playing the "did I really need to stab myself with needles once a week and lay on the couch for 11 weeks missing work and stressing out my husband" game. LO, despite all the previous scares, seems very cozy in there!

I think anyone who has made it to term has the right to complain about how uncomfortable they are and how ready they are to have the baby.
Is it annoying to hear the complaints? yes. but it is just as annoying to hear the overdue complain all the time as well.
So you need a medical induction? so have a lot of other ladies on this board myself included. FFS I ended up with a c-section, that was def not in the plan. In the end you have to do what's best for your baby even if it means giving up your ideal birth situation.

Perhaps we should make a thread of things that are appropriate to complain about. Give me a break. Everyone and anyone can complain about whatever the heck they want. It's the beauty of the internet. It's not like everyone on here hasn't complained about one thing or another at some point during this journey. If you don't wanna read threads of people complaining, don't open them.

Piney, are you ok? I know you are so uncomfortable and it's not fun with the extra stresses that you have, but you seems extra combative tonight? I think signals got mixed by everyone and this is starting to go in a bad direction.

I just think we should maybe let the thread burn out before too many pregnant mamas say things they don't mean!

Putting words in my mouth? Because I never said that anyone couldn't bitch. Read it again. The only directive I gave was to not get pissy at the beginning of the monthers who already have outside babies. Everything else was pointing out the ridiculousness of posters (though many happen to be drive-bys) that insist their babies come out right now even though they haven't even gotten to their EDD.
