What's the first movie you remember seeing in the theater? How did it go?
Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.
At least that I can remember, Beauty and the Beast. I was obsessed with the Little Mermaid before that, but I don't think I saw it in the theater. I remember going with my dad, and that the theatre was huge, and for some reason I feel like there was a curtain that pulled back, even though that could be my imagination.
The first movie I remember seeing is "Baby's Day Out". I remember that I loved it. My mom told me that they had taken me to see "Son In Law" before that, but I was too young to remember it.

Oliver and Company, with my parents and grandma. I LOVED the story, especially the song "Perfect Company" where Oliver and Jenny spend time together. So, so cute...

The first movie I saw was Pinocchio and it freaked me the fuck out when it got the the Pleasure Island part and I walked out.

I am dating myself, but the first movie I saw in the theater was The Last Unicorn. Mia Farrow and Jeff Bridges voiced the main characters. It is anime. I cried when the villain chases the unicorns into the sea. I'm sure that my dad was embarrassed to no end.
If you haven't heard of it and you love Disney-type musical animation movies, you should see it!

I think my first was Bambi. Maybe it was Peter Pan.
What I do remember is that about 30 minutes in I looked up at my dad and told him I was ready to go home. He still gets mad when I bring it up. Mainly because he bought me popcorn.
Batman. The one with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson. I think I was 5 at the time. It was at the drive-in, and we went there all the time. So it probably isn't the actual first movie, just the first one I can remember.

The first movie that I can remember seeing in the theaters was The Lion King. After the movie my mom tried to talk to me about how one day she (and my dad) wouldn't always be around. It was kind of depressing now that I think about it.
Pretty sure mine was "The Lion King." I don't remember too much of the theatre experience, but I do remember being so obsessed afterwards. I got the soundtrack cassette tape and played it nonstop, singing along with my Sony microphone radio!
The first one I remember seeing was Beauty and the Beast. I remember crying during the scene when Maurice was thrown out of the pub by Gaston.
My parents took me to see this when I was 2 (my first movie). I don't remember seeing it that first time, but it has always been my favorite Disney movie! The first time I remember seeing it, I cried when the Beast was "dead" at the end.
First movie I *remember* seeing is Bambi. Fuck that shit. I was with my friend (a boy who's name escapes me). We were about 5 or 6, and we bawled when his mom died. I was traumatized. I've never watched that movie again haha
ETA: I don't remember the first movie I saw in theaters. We were more "watch at home and save money" people.

This is terrible because I know its not the first movie I saw, but its the first movie memory coming to me right now, I remember seeing titanic in like the 4th grade! I feel like the only reason I remember seeing was because I was with my best friend who was Peruvian and her nanny was with us who spoke no English, so she had to translate through the whole movie!
The first movie I remember going to in the theatre was The Goonies, I was 5 :-) Haha! The fact that some of you guys wrote Titanic makes me feel very old!!;-p
It was a Star Trek movie...I can't remember the title but I remember there were whales (killer whales, maybe?). I just remember I was bored to tears. 1000 points to anyone who can name it!
The first movie that I remember going to and enjoying was the Little Mermaid. We have 5 kids in my family so going to the movies rarely happened.
ETA: Google tells me it was Star Trek IV, and it came out in 1986. Who takes a 5 year old to a Star Trek movie? Maybe it's why I hate Star Trek anything to this day.
I remember seeing a few Disney movies. I had to check to see which one came out first. I saw The Little Mermaid. I was 4, almost 5. I remember thinking (and maybe saying) that it was better than going to the Nutcracker.

@sandler817: Geesh, I was eight when that came out. Now I feel really old! )

Offtopic, but @MrsRexManning, we had a Betamax. I remember watching the older Winnie the Pooh movie on it when I was really young... man I had forgotten about those! I doubt they still have any of the equipment (my dad's all about his iPad and Apple products now, and even got rid of his VHS's) but that brought back memories...

My mom took my brother and me to see the Transformers movie when I was about 4 years old.
I don't remember anything about the movie, but I had taken my favorite stuffed animal (a Siamese kitten) into the theater with me and accidentally left it there. By the time we remembered and went back to look, it was gone. I was devastated and was really upset about it for a looooong time.

The first movie I remember seeing in the theater was The Land Before Time. I may have seen something before that, but I don't remember. I would have been 5 in 1988, so it sounds about right.
I love that movie!

It was something Chipmunks.. I think Chipmunk Adventure? I was maybe 7? I don't remember. I remember I was scared when the lights went off, hah. But it was fun after that. I remember lots of popcorn, and I was allowed to have my first soda.

The first i remember was the Titanic. My mom took my cousin and I b/c she wanted to see it really bad. She said she wouldn't have taken us if she knew there were "so many sex scenes!" LOL
Another classic Disney movie here--Aladdin! I remember loving the part with the Genie, and going back to see it at least once so I could sing along. Jafar terrified me at the end when he turned into a giant evil snake.
The first one I really remember seeing was Jurassic Park, which would have made me 9 years old. I'm sure I saw plenty before that, it's just the first one I have a clear memory of at the moment.
Dirty Dancing when I was in second grade. When I saw it when I was older, I realized it was totally inappropriate! When I was little, I had no idea what it was about, but I LOVED the dancing!

Doing the math I was 6 or so. I remember seeing it with my older sister. It was a big deal because we didn't have a lot of money and never went to the movies or rent movies. I did get Disney VHS tapes for my birthdays though.
I just took my daughter who is 2 for her first ever movie (Frozen). It was funny she kept calling the screen "the big TV" and kept asking to go back for the next week or so.

DH shakes his head at how many hearts I drew on the pages and the fact I wrote. "This book belongs to the future Mrs. Leonardo DiCaprio" inside the cover.
I remember seeing it in 6th grade over the weekend and the next school day everyone was talking about how they got to see a movie with boobs in it... Teachers were mortified that our parents let us watch it.

Not sure how old I was but it was Snow White when it was re-released. All I remember was being terrified of the big screen and hiding behind the seat in front of me until it was over.
The first movie I saw in the theatre was Splash, but I don't remember it because I was a baby. The first movie I remember seeing in the theatre was the Little Mermaid. I remember crying at the end when Ariel said goodbye to her father and sisters. Just realized now that both movies are about mermaids.
I still love it as an adult. I think Ursula is the best Disney villain ever. Love her and her weird invertebrate lipstick.
Hmmm early FFFC: I've never seen Dirty Dancing in its entirety. ">
Any reason why? It's awesome.
My FFFMC is that I've never seen ET.

Nope, I just haven't looked for it on Netflix. I've seen snippets on TV, but I always stop watching because I do want to see the whole thing at once. Sooo, I guess I do have a reason: Laziness.
ET is awesome and baby berrymore is so cute, you should watch it.

I remember going to see The Land Before Time but I was 8-9 at the time and I know I went to see something before that. I remember in Kindergarten wanting to go to sleep really early (like 6pm) so that I could wake up and it would be time for the movie...but I don't remember what it was
