M14 ladies, I need council. For those of you that remember the elephant lamp, a friend of my husband (who I hate) is asking me over Facebook where I got it. A little back story; this person has not talked to me for more than 30 minutes in the last 5 years I've been living in Belgium... She actually stopped inviting my husband and me to all the groups events we were previously invited.
Now the question: am I being petty by not wanting to tell her where to get the lamp?
Tell her it was a gift. Or ignore. That's my go to route. I ignore all questions. I f-zing hate people.
This. I'd ignore it, if you feel like you need to answer I'd just say it was a gift and you have no idea, or that it's a hand me down.
I swear this kid is testing me. For the last three days we've played the "as soon as you put me down I'll wake up" game. He decided he wanted to go back to only sleeping 1.5-2 hour stretches at night. Which is great, because those are the days DH needs to get up early for work so I take the whole night.
What does he do when it's DH's turn? Sleeps from 9pm-3am, chugs a bottle and then sleeps til 7. DH is like "I don't know what's so hard, all he does it sleep all day..."
DH is like "I don't know what's so hard, all he does it sleep all day..."
*cue throat punch*
I know, right? But he DOES sleep for him all day. He's like the damn baby whisperer. I thought babies were supposed to stop crying when you hand them to mom. Nope, he stops for dad. I think he senses my weakness.
@kirotea I get the tired comments from my H all the time, too, and he sleeps just fine. In fact, one morning I left E on the bed with him and went to take a shower. When I got out, she was screaming her head off and he was laying there with his face about a foot from her and he was still snoring! How is that even possible?! I was so pissed.

I decided to go through lo's 3 and 3-6 bins this morning and I'm finding that quite a few of the items are tiny!! We have a bunch of hand me downs and rummage sale/resale items... So it's a lot of those but they are definitely going to fit her before 3-6 and she isn't even a "chunky" baby. Even that mermaid outfit that said 3 months on it I just got for sat, washed and dried it and now I'm questioning the fit of the top. No more during baby clothes maybe, I'm going to need to find somewhere to hang them all.
I had a smaller baby with DS1 and we were "ahead" of most clothing sizes. I think he was in 6 month at 4 months, etc. Sizing can vary so much by brand too. I have to keep everything organized by the tag size for my own compulsions but I realized I need to keep an eye on a few different sizes so they can wear everything.
@nblondheim, it's "spring" in northern WI, are you surprised? . I went to high school in that area so I know the feeling, though you guys have had it really rough this year. My parents now live near Stevens Point so I've heard all about it. They liked visiting me in MO this year because it's practically been a tropical vacation .
Colton is in 3 month clothes already and he is 3 weeks old! He has gone from 7.1 pounds at birth to 9.2 pounds as of Saturday. H says my booby milk must be whole milk since its chunking up Colton so fast!
Just left a doctors appointment and decided to swing by target. It's time for LO to eat so I pulled the car in the far back corner to feed in the backseat. Now, boobs hanging out, there is a truck with about 8 men slowly working their way towards me doing landscaping on these lil parking lot islands. Good grief... This baby needs to start chugging.
Can we talk about how babies crying with tears is 590% sadder than before? Brooklyn just started producing tears when she cries and sometimes when I pick her up after she starts crying one singular tear will roll down her cheek in the slowest, saddest way possible.
When I see tears I just want to give her all the snuggles and all the boobs. Anything but tears!
I have J's clothes hanging by length (shoulder to crotch) and then by width. *this is of course after sorting by clothing type- short sleeve onesie, long, shirt, dress...
Ok, I'm joining in on this random thread. I can't make the commitment to start from the beginning tho

So much this. When C is really sad he sticks his bottom lip way out and his chin wobbles like mad. Breaks my heart!
Yes! I got the lower lip stuck out frowny face with the lip quiver yesterday. It was heartbreaking. He looked like I kicked his puppy.
Any other BFed babies starting to do the super fun "chomp down and pull back" move? It's like they think my nipples are salt-water taffy. FYI babies, no pulling required!!
My FIL is here cooking me lunch. No complaints on that part... However hearing the same stories 2x a week every week kills me. I've already got the a story twice in the past hour.

My LO likes to lick my boobs and then, when I least expect it, claw them with his tiny hands and nails. Owww

Yep! And as an added bonus, he'll pull back hard then unlatch, making me leak all over my top. Thanks a lot, buddy.
Oh yeah this too! Makes me wonder how women breastfeed in public! I'm a milky mess by the end
I already miss being pregnant. Give me all the babies!!
Oh and we saw a 2 year old boy running through target yesterday and my uterus exploded. DH just turned and said, "You want a boy now, huh?"
I feel like this when I see girls dresses.
Same!
It doesn't help that I keep remembering that the last time it was this nice out, I had a tiny baby bump going and was just starting to feel flutters of movement.
@kirotea how long are you pumping when you need to pump?? When I was trying to reduce supply (which wasn't much in the first place) I'd only pump 5 or 10 mins to take pressure off. That seemed to do it.

Tears make it so much sadder! And my LO has started actually making the "wah" noise when he's really upset. I might have taken a video of it because I'm terrible like that.

OMG it's so pitiful. And as soon as you pick them up they let out the biggest sigh of relief that your heart explodes. It makes me feel so wanted. Lol.
My DH just said "I think I'm going to go to the other room so I can get some sleep" oh really because the two mins LO has been awake are so fucking tough for you? Sorry to disturb you
You need in interrupted sleep? Fine ok go for it...
I've never bitched about DH on here but I'm pissed.
FYI: this is having a newborn and comparatively we have a unicorn most of the time
Fuck. Ugh
Rant over.... I don't know why my feelings are so hurt?
I've been there. MH said it on a weekend. It took some major tongue biting to say "Okay darling, whatever you need." He also cannot handle holding her for more than 10 minutes while she intermittently fusses while falling asleep. Really, dude?
I'm the one who can't handle fussing in our relationship it makes me so anxious when I can't make him stop, even though rationally I know nothing is wrong, he's fed and clean and warm, but all I want to do is make him stop. I end up handing him to DH, who lets it go in one ear and out the other.

Yes! Righty was so sore yesterday from his chomp and pull that I fed exclusively from lefty and pumped righty. On the plus side I started making a stash of boob cubes.
My sweet tempered, happy baby has been replaced with a monster. She refuses to nap at all during the day. We've been awake since 7 AM and if she's not nursing she's screaming. There are no comfortable positions for her to lie in, in my arms, on my shoulder, in the RnP, in her crib, in her swing. You can tell she's EXHAUSTED, and she conks out after nursing for about 10-12 minutes every time, but wakes back up within 10 minutes. She's also gassy, gas drops help minimally, and she's been spitting up more than usual. Her wet diaper count is totally normal, but she's not pooping until the evenings, when she'll have 2 or 3 HUGE BMs.
This has been going on for a week. How long do I chalk it up to growth spurt until I throw in the towel and call her pedi?
A has decided that it would be fun to nurse for 10 minutes every hour on the hour. Oh, and only sleep on my chest and just scream if I put him down. This has been going on since 9 this morning.
DH took Jackson to the pedi today just to make sure he's not sick sick. They said it's just a normal baby crud (in so many words). I got home from work a little bit ago and we took his temp and it's 99(F). I know that's not crazy high, but it makes me worry they missed something good news is we were actually told to hold him a lot!

B had a rough night Friday night. We had enough milk for a bottle in the fridge, so DH thought he'd do me a favor and let me sleep.
Let's just say he now knows better than to complain about being tied around me.
We have a TON of 3 month & 3-6 month clothes, now I'm afraid she won't be able to wear them all
When I see tears I just want to give her all the snuggles and all the boobs. Anything but tears!
