My kids have begun the whole can we get a puppy thing. I feel bad because I've always wanted one myself but, there's no way with baby #4 on the way that we can afford it. Sigh....jealous of all you ladies with your doggies!
It's so awkward when someone who posts regularly enough to know better posts something that would normally result in all kinds of flaming.
Wait, there's entertainment and I can't find it?
I'm sitting through an alumni banquet for SO's fraternity and could some quality bump goodness.

@blythemiles, I'm so impressed by your picture - you're so talented! I daydream of painting something awesome for LO's nursery, but I'm too afraid to haha

You should give it a try!! The great thing about painting on canvas is that if you don't like how it turns out, you can just paint over it... and then the painting will have "texture" that will make it look even more artsy
I once attempted to paint a painting... hated it... then squirted a bunch of random colors of paint on it and just used a brush to move the paint around. The painting underneath gave the painting on top some awesome texture, and I now have the painting in my office and I get compliments on it all the time and it's so random! I do not have the skill to actually paint things like animals or people... I stick to abstract trees and "rivers" ;-)
I think I'm dying a slow, torturous death. I'm not even to the third tri yet I've had a stupid cold. Yesterday my tail bone started popping and that hurts like a mofo. My back flipping hurts too.
That's all!

I need some advice! DH and I are chaperoning our school's formal at the beginning of May. The theme is 007 and the teachers have all decided to wear either black, red, or gold. I was searching for formal maternity dresses and the results were less than classy - do you guys think I could get by wearing this one? It's from Target and only $33! I could dress it up with some fancy gold jewelry. My other question - will the red make me look like a fire truck? Haha I just really don't want to wear black and I don't think I'll be tan enough to pull off gold!

I like it! I think red would make you look like a Bond girl I'd also do a red lip stick with hair up and I second the gold jewelry.
Mister got a call about a job across the country that sounds very promising. My liberal heart has always wanted to live out of Texas, but upstate NY is cold. Not to mention we make about the same amt of $$ now. relocating would position him better in his career and probably position me worse since it is not in a major metropolitan area. Lots to consider.

I can understand what you say about Texas, but at least austin isn't too bad. Where about a are you?
I have a girlfriend who is in cosmetology school & comes over every week to do her homework on me. She's taking 16 weeks of classes on makeup so it's fun girl time for us. Tonight she was practicing smokey eyes & went way out of the box with me into drag queen territory (a fun experiment just not ever something I would actually wear)...anyway I was wondering how I was going to get it all off when I remembered reading that someone used coconut oil as makeup remover. That stuff is amazing!!!! Not only did it take off the makeup but my skin is super soft now. I never thought to use it to actually clean my face.
Now that I've written a novel I'm going to try & finish catching up on all the bump stuff I missed earlier today before going to bed.

I was out of town for about 24 hours. When I came back yesterday afternoon, the height of the snowbanks at the end of our driveway had dropped like 3 feet due to this awesome warm weather! I can actually see if anyone is coming down the road when I back up now. Yay!
I told my stylist she could do whatever she wanted to my hair last night. My only stipulations were that I didn't want a "mom" cut and I wanted to be able to get it off my face if it was annoying me.
BeforeAfter
Also, DH is clearly not the photographer in our family. Sorry for the blurry.
Thanks ladies! I had to take my glasses off for her to do the cut, so it really was a surprise for me. From the blurry reflection I was seeing, I thought she had left a little more length. I'm really happy with it.
Random vent: Lady at work, stop commenting on my food please! If I want to have a bowl of kids cereal sometimes I am going to have one. And what's it to you that when you walked by during lunch yesterday that I hadn't finished my carrot sticks yet? I know I'm not perfect, and I let my sweet tooth win more than I should, but you watching what I eat and when is not helping, it's just pissing me off.
I know it's not HDBD, but whoah... Is it possible for your whole bump to just shift up overnight?! I have some bump above my belly button now so it doesn't just look like excessive burrito/beer consumption. Also, this is what I look like in front of a standard US doorway ;-)

Ha I know how that goes! But it's kinda fun cuz you don't see it till the finished product. Love your new cut!

Is it that people are taking the "it takes a village" mentality too far? I mean, seriously...would all the people telling pregnant women what to eat be telling them what they can or cannot feed their children on a daily basis?

If we were to take a picture together I think all you'd see is my head. lol
My two best friends are under 5'3 so we actually have quite a few photos like that! ;-)

Sometimes I think they might! I know it's (usually) said with the best intentions, and people just want to be helpful/friendly/have something to talk about, but it still drives me nuts. And between the Mommy Wars and grandparents and a million anecdotes from strangers I know it's bound to get worse once the baby actually gets here. Something about pregnancy and babies makes the world at large feel entitled to get involved. I'm not a fan.
@beff12, @TallMomma29 is exactly right! Paint and canvas is super forgiving - if you hate it, just paint over it when it's dry! It's what the old masters did.
And to be fair, I teach art for a living - I know all the shortcuts to making something very quickly. If you are interested in a graphic, a name, or an animal, a stencil can be really helpful. You can make it yourself, or buy it somewhere.
I think anything you make for your LO would be adorable, and definitely a labor of love.
So, my DH is home with the plumber today, and the plumber had to cut a hole in the "cat's" (soon to be nursery) wall to access the studs, etc. Our cat go so excited by the prospect of a visitor in his room, he tried to "help" the plumber, and jump in the wall!
I'm basically dying laughing over here.
On the up side, we might get a brand new tub! (We rent.)
@tallmomma29 - I was totally thinking yesterday that my bump had shifted up all of a sudden. Before baby boy felt like he was all the way in my pelvis, and now, it's closer to my chest.

I was wondering when this would finally happen! I guess nearly 29 weeks! My baby has been shoved down as much into my pelvis as possible the entire time so far, and if I try to feel her she'll shove herself down in there even further. I am hoping this corresponds with a break for my bladder for a few weeks before she gets too big to move around :-)
