I'm so jealous of all the babies with the cute little hats and sunglasses. LO pulls everything off immediately!
@wasnotwas, Grayson just started nursing/ taking a smaller amount of his bottle at bedtime too. It used to be his biggest bottle but now that he's filling up on dinner I guess he has less room. We just cut it from 7oz to 4-5.
A friend of a friend was stabbed in the Pittsburgh school stabbing today. He was rushed immediately in to surgery to repair his liver, kidney and stop the bleeding. He is still very critical. Please say a prayer for him!
I have spent every free moment writing a post on my jury duty experience. It is almost done. It's long as hell. And I think it's kind of boring. Oh well, y'all asked for it!
@megsw85 that sucks so hard! MH travels a lot too (he's gone right now) but not as much as yours. It must be tough not having your partner there to help. If it makes you feel better, I think it's just a 3 year old thing...Bradley cries "I want my daddy" whenever I discipline him. It's tough...hugs lady
So nursing and bumping isn't working for me today. I think I might have flagged 2 post. I'm not for sure. I'm using the app and the screen kinda faded and nothing happened, so I closed and reopened.
Then LOL grabbed the phone and noticed she hit the flag button on @WasNotWas post and it did the same screen fade but nothing came up.

@WasNotWas the travel does suck. We knew when he took this job that he would be traveling but we were told that it would be at max 3 weeks gone. But of course its been a busy season and they are short staffed. But at least spring breakup is almost here. I think the hardest thing is not having any help near by.
Is there any change on the horizon? Will it slow down soon? I wish I could meet up with ya, just to give you a little brain break from being on call 24/7
ok so I'm about to go buy a couple pairs of shorts for the Disney trip because I have a $25 off purchase of $50 or more coupon. My thought is, I'm going to get shorts that fit me now and if, by the time we go to Disney I am any smaller, I will exchange. This is brilliant right?
It didn't last super long here -- like, maybe a week?
+1
I was rewarded with M taking a 2.5 hour nap on the last day of it. Hope you catch a break soon
Ooooooh. This might explain LO's terrible sleep lately and the nearly 3 hour nap he took for the ILs yesterday. Though he's 10 months, not 9. I'll chalk it up to the same thing and hope this means more sleep for me soon!
Grayson slept for 10 and a half hours last night!!!! He must be making up for all that sleep he missed while he was sick. I got a whole 8 hours of sleep last night and I feel like a new woman!
Sorry for everyone who's LO isn't sleeping very well right now. Hopefully it passes soon for everyone!
For some reason watching Elsa sing Let It Go always makes me want to clean a de-clutter my house. Like super purge and scrub everything. I have no idea why.

For some reason, listening to Let It Go always makes me want to rip my eardrums out and stomp on them. Am I the only one who hates that song?
I can't believe Colbert is taking Letterman's spot. I didn't think he would. Will be interesting to see what kind of show he does for network TV and if he still keeps his Colbert "character".
Holy crap!! I didn't hear that was happening. I can't believe it either. I agree - that should be interesting.

I read that he's most likely going to shed the character. That'll be too weird.
@EmAzeem - that is seriously LO's favorite way to nurse. It drives me nuts. He's been doing it for a couple weeks now, and I really don't know how to go about discouraging it besides repeated repositioning. That only works for about 10 seconds until he squirms up again. Silly babies.

It gets stuck in my head for days and drives me nutty.

I keep running low on food for DD. I'm not used to shopping for someone who actually eats fruits and veggies (DH and I have great eating habits :^o ). Purées were easier in that I could just stock up and easily see when I was getting low. Now all of a sudden I'm searching through my fridge looking for something for her to eat.
@CL8badB let me know how you like the cupcake thing. I love baking and got one, I've tried it 3 times now and every.single.time it never works! No matter what I do
So I fired B's pediatrician today. Not because she was a bad doctor (I actually liked her a lot) but because her office staff is unbelievably rude and unprofessional. They are so bad I'll be writing a letter, and I never stay annoyed long enough to write a letter.
ETA: changed "my" to "B's" because I don't go to the pediatrician, my kid does.
@Cricket81 it's kind of a long story, but I'll feel better if I get it out somewhere so here goes:
The HR dept at my company is incompetent and put down B's birthdate and insurance effective date as 7/23, which was the date I turned in the form notifying them of his birth. He was born 07/05. So of course my insurance company refused to cover any bills that came before 7/23. I spent a ton of time getting that sorted out.
At B's three month appointment, the admin at the ped office tells me there is an outstanding balance on my account. I tell her ok, I know why that happened, please resend the invoice to my insurance company, they shouldn't have any issue paying.
I also call insurance company to get things squared away. They say they don't have any record of any bills so they will call ped to work everything out. I get a voicemail from insurance company a few days later that said everything is worked out. Bills are paid.
Six month appointment rolls around and admin tells me I still have an outstanding balance. I say that's weird because I'm not receiving any bills in the mail from you and ask how much the bill is for. Some other admin who is not even in the convo but is standing there says, "Oh, it's a lot" in a super bitchy tone. (It was two invoices totaling $200. Not really a lot but also not something I want to pay considering I pay for insurance and I know my insurance covers it.) I ignored her because I didn't know who she was. I explain that I spoke to insurance co and they even left me a message saying they'd worked everything out with ped office. Admin says, "Yeah, it is weird because they've paid all the other bills, just not these two."
Fast forward to today's 9 month well visit. Sign in as usual and take B to the well kid's room and wait. And wait. And wait. The office isn't busy, not sure why I'm waiting so long. I'm not a complainer so I wait without saying anything. I overheard the nurse say something about insurance purgatory to himself. Finally get in to see doc after waiting 45 minutes past appt time.
As I'm leaving, the admin tells me she had been on the phone with my insurance company for 40 mins about the outstanding invoices. She tells me, "oh yeah. Turns out insurance did pay those invoices several months ago, we just hadn't updated our old system to reflect the payment."
So she made B and me wait 45 minutes while she found out that it was an error on her end, not mine, not the insurance company's. Never apologized. Nothing. Then the girl who collected the copay for the outstanding balance was super rude to me (same chick that told me I owed "a lot".) I realized later that the nurse said something about insurance purgatory while we were waiting because he had been told what the situation was, which really pissed me off because I feel like that could have affected the level of care B received. I don't think it actually did, but it's really none of the nurse's business whether I have an outstanding balance or not.
Add to all of that the fact that they never sent me any bills to collect the outstanding balance only told me about it when I was at the office with a baby in my arms and couldn't take any proactive action, they schedule 8am appointments but none of the staff actually shows up until about 8:05am so I have to wait in the hallway, and confirmed my appointment the day before only to basically ask me why I'm there the next day because the "ped is making rounds".
I could go on, but that's the majority of it. Sorry for typos. I hate typing on the iPad. The text box is so small.
