Anyone else trying to find all these enraging expletives? All I found was someone saying "damn names" about the Kardashians. If that you think is "unnecessary cursing" then, my friend, you need to toughen up a bit.

Toughen up? Please. I dont need to do any such thing. If you dont need to curse, then dont. Theres no reason for it, thats all i was saying. All this is getting old and obviously you and whoever else have a problem and are blowing this out of proportion. I dont have time for it..

Her meltdown just made me totally think of my FIL. He's from NY and runs a garbage company (seriously he's not Tony Soprano...well maybe) and his company started expanding down south and they relocated to a backwoods, bible thumping area. FIL is the lyrical gangsta in the way he can use all forms of the F word in grammatical correct contexts. His employees were mortified so he has to preface all meetings saying "don't worry about my swearing, as long as I don't follow up the "F" with you"

Do you understand, though, that most people don't feel that way? And that it's kind of unreasonable of you to insist that a bunch of people you don't know conform to your rules? The "cursing" (I think it was pretty mild) wasn't directed at you, and wasn't meant to be rude. You blew it out of proportion in the first place by making a big deal out of something that MauiBliss had no way of knowing would bother you so much, because most people aren't bothered by casual use of that particular word.

Maybe you should of done a little research on our group. WE are a group of people, many of whom have advanced degrees in English, linguistics, sociology, international studies and the like. If you had read even a few posts just from today, you'd know the regulars here like to discuss names and meaning, as well as, help those who truly seek advice. What this board IS NOT is a place to get personal praise on your misspelling abilities. You are not so holier than thou, that you have the right to lecture us about using the word "damn". Especially when you are not a member

Let the record stand that you did not ask for advice. You asked for opinions in your choices. You gave us two options and we gave our opinions. Advice takes the form of an open ended question in which you ponder the answers given to you. Pondering has not happened. You started off as defensive and have moved onto aggressively redundant. You want our advice? throw us some other names that you have talked about. Maybe we can help you discover some new names that you hadn't even though of. That is our strong suit and our best advice.

Ladies- I don't think we should make comments on her other daughters name though, it's been an unspoken rule for awhile that it's just not cool. I am truly sorry if we upset you about Kamryn's name. I'm sure she is a beautiful little girl and the name fits her perfectly.

Also, it doesn't really matter what you were thinking when you decided to spell Kadence with a K as much as it matters how it will be perceived. Just to get some inspiration. You may be surprised and some of the awesome names some of these ladies will suggest. My own tastes have really evolved since being here and I'm not afraid to admit that.

Good point and good suggestions. I don't really see the purpose in using "different spellings" for their own sake when you could use a name that is genuinely unusual but still beautiful, sophisticated, and meaningful. Different spellings can lead to a lot of headaches for your child, who will spend the rest of her life spelling out her name, and to a lot of judgments about her education and background (those judgments may not be fair, but people will make them whether they're fair or not), whereas an unusual but correctly spelled name can be familiar enough to spell but still refreshing.
