Nope, no weight concerns. When we left the hospital he was on a gaining trend (they weighed him daily). Birth weight was 9lb 7.8 ounces; lowest weight was something like 8-8 (can't recall); back up to 8-14 by time of discharge. He's just over a week old!

Thanks, everyone. I am chilling now. When do they advise that you can stop waking to feed? After they've regained birth weight?

I promise I'm going to ask his doc today, just curious.

This may gross you out, but have you tried cloth? I was using the standard hospital pads at first but had the same issue. I had MH bring me my clot stash from home and it really helped. So much more breathable.

Either this or try a different brand of disposables if you're not into cloth. The Always ones started to irritate me - I switched to the Kotex naturals ones (or whatever they're called) and have had no issues since.

This for me as well.

I would like to second what @pepperedmoth said. I think I would have gone insane if I hadn't found this board. Dr. Google is no one's friend.

On a completely unrelated note, my creepy ass roommate decided that because I had left my bedroom door open so I could hear Mia better if she started crying while I was in the bathroom, it was totally okay to just walk into the room and stare at/touch DDs cheek, with that weird ass smile on her face that makes me think she's considering kidnapping my baby. WTF. I was gone for two minutes to pee, ya creep!

@legallyginger‌ my H even got her hair color. She's a red just like him. I guess we'll see what color her eyes end up being. That'll be all I got.

DS was a clone of DH at birth, but favors me now that he's older.

DD1 looked like DS, but now looks a lot like me.

LO favors DH right now. We'll see how she ends up!

All three of my boys have all looked the same, just like mh. Ds1 went from dark hair to my twin blonde hair blue eyes. Ds2 stayed with the dark hair and is mh twin. So it's been fun trying to guess if ds3 will keep the dark hair or change to a blonde!

Hey @TallAsh‌ I didn't want to call you out in a new thread, but I have a question for you. Does your husband baby wear? If so, what does he use? I'm trying to find a good carrier that'll fit my H and I think our H's are roughly the same height.

Most of mine came from food co-ops and other hippie stores but they are available on-line and also easy to sew.

Been trying to get Colton and myself ready to go run errands since 10. Now it's almost time to pick up my older boys from school, I forgot how long it takes to get a baby ready to go out without H's help. But I am so happy he is back to work! Love the man to death but 2 weeks home was long

So the poop is formula related!
Thank goodness. And the doctor confirmed my reflux suspicion so we are starting zantac.

And people said mia looked like me as a newborn but now she looks like my h's family. But her hair is getting lighter, i'm still praying for a ginger!

Regarding babies looking like their dads - there is a theory that it's an evolutionary adaptation for young babies to look like their dads to assure the dads of paternity so they will care for the babies. As they get older, the babies will start to look less like their dads and more like both parents.

Matthew looks like no one. He has H's hairline and kinda looks like my dis sometimes, but that's all we got so far.

@theluckiest9‌ how tall is your husband? Mine is tall (6'2'') and thin. He really likes the moby wrap. We also got the ergo, but don't have the infant insert yet.

I really wasn't expecting this for another couple weeks. It's defiantly nice to see that he is happy ^^ He seems to have had a developmental growth spurt in the past couple days. I noticed that he has been paying attention to his play gym, the ceiling projector and my face, yesterday. He has also been practicing with his coo's here and there.

Same here! We started getting big smiles when we bicycle his legs or boop him on the nose. He also seems to be studying our faces, when we change our expressions he usually reacts somehow.

Baby smiles are the best!

Mia is doing the same, when my H or I mimic her facial expressions her reactions are hilarious.
She is starting to get interested at the mirror on the swing, she makes faces at it, its priceless.

So I bought a medela hand pump today. And I had a better session (3oz) than I had in my last 3 electric sessions (1-1.5 oz, ameda purely yours). I'm very excited about this, I thought my supply was tanking fast.

And I am going to a small class with a LC tomorrow morning. Hopefully she can help with M fighting the breast.

@rockopera‌ he's 6'9". We have a moby but haven't tried it on him yet. I was going to pick up a mei tai too. I think some of the soft shell carriers say they're good for up to a certain height and usually it's not 6'9" lol. Do you think he could still wear one?

Doc was totally reassuring re: A's sleeping. He's gaining weight fine and he is a chunky baby to begin with so doc said, "eh, he's got reserves. We'll worry if he doesn't regain birth weight. Enjoy the sleep. We'll recheck in a week."

Awesome.

This is what they told us too. As long as they're gaining weight and wetting enough diapers, let them sleep!
