We call it "ninny". She really is indifferent to it. My oldest was the same way but at home she would ask for it. My cousin called his "pie-ey" which was supposed to be Paci.

Paci. I have an irrational annoyance with the term binky... I can't find a logical connection to why it would be called that!

I feel this way about the word Paci. Not a fan of binky either. I ordered a Wubbanub that should be arriving tomorrow. I think I'll be happy to be able to say "Do you want your monkey?" as at least that isn't embarrassing to say in public.

This is why! They used to be a much more popular brand. It's like calling tissues "Kleenex"
Thank you! I've never seen those before!
@missdemeanor, paci as just shortened form of pacifier. It sounds kinda weird, but it at least made sense in my head where it comes from!
And we have a Wubanub, and I call it her "wub"... not any better. ;-)

I used to baby sit for a family that always called them su-su's (if that's how you'd spell it?). For some reason this is ingrained in my mind and what I end up calling them. (I've also called them "suce" like tlex, but as a short for susu...cause 2 syllables is too much to say with fussy baby apparently )
DD1 started calling them chewies when she was little and it stuck. Mostly she used them for teething rather than sucking on so it seemed appropriate. DD2 hates them all. Well hate may be too strong. She just looks at us like what the heck is that thing when we try.
binky! that's what it was called when I was little, too. every now and then we'll call it a binka but I caught that from my sister.. not sure where she got it from.
I voted binky because that's what I call it but my BF calls it everything under the sun. It's her suckie, pacifier, paci, and some other weird ones. I wish he would just call it one thing and stick to it.
We call it a paci. I never took one, but younger siblings all had odd names for theirs... "Offoo" "Donna" (hahaha) and "war". Curious to see what LO comes up with!
@TyrannosaurusLex yep. He would scream things like "I dropped Donna!" or "where's Donna?? I need Donna!" in public. I hope my mom got a kick out of it.

DH calls it his "sucky thing" from Look Who's Talking.

When I was a baby my older brother (age 4 at the time) picked up my pacifier, looked at my mom and asked, "Where is the fire?". Lol
