    DH and I call it a pacifier. I don't like the nicknames for it. MIL calls it a plug because she hates it (tough luck MIL, it helps him sleep) and nearly everyone else we know says binky. DD say binky meaning blanket, so people think she's talking about his pacifier and she gets really confused. It literally pacifies him, so that's what I use.
