So you think we would could figure it out if she came back with an AE?
  • So far for dinner I have had two big m&m cookies from Safeway. :)

  • Just ate half of the chocolate pound cake I made today. HALF!
  • I think it's a mean mean trick that they don't let you eat during labor. When I started pushing it had been 22 hours since I had anything except ice chips. And they wondered why I was exhausted and almost didn't have the energy to push for 1.5 hours...geez.

I was able to have juice boxes, water, popsicles and jello. But they also gave me a barf bag just in case.

  • I got all excited for a video when I saw 95 new posts.... But nope.

I was scheduled to go in to get a Foley catheter the night before induction and I was sure I got to go home afterwards. SO kept telling me I was wrong and I didn't listen to the doctor but I didn't believe him (dr. Google told me it was a go home procedure too).

The day of the foley I got nervous and called and asked and she told me I would be staying the night, I still must have been in denial and was like "ok what time do I come in the next morning?". Hardcore pregnancy brain.

  • I don't feel bad about bragging because I had a horrible pregnancy and recovery (4th degree tear and haemorrhage).

On the day I went into labor, I only knew something was up because my weird mild pains were coming every 2 minutes. When I called L&D the nurse told me to come to the hospital but I would probably get sent home since they weren't intense. Well, I get to the hospital and I'm 5 cm dialated.. still not really in any pain - it felt like cramps I would get the day before my period comes. The epi man was on the floor as I was being admitted so I thought, "meh, might as well get an EPI now." 6 hours later my son was born after 12 minutes of pushing.

    I.FELT.NOTHING! :)

  • Surgical extraction story:
Arrived at hospital 6am, as instructed, informed they were running behind and was shown to my room to change and wait. Nearly 2 hours later taken to OR then spinal, cath, check for numbness, joined by DH, cut open and baby extracted, first pictures while being put back together. Return to room, lovely nurse brought me food and drugs. A few days later we all go home!

  • Oooo, I'll go.

    1) Woke up to contractions I thought were gas at 3am. DH convinced me it was labor at 6am. Hospital 7:00am, 6cm. Epi at 8cm. Baby at 10am.

    2) Woke up at 1:30am to my water breaking. Woke up DH to go to hospital at 2:15am. Hospital at 3am, 5cm. Epi at 7.5cm. Baby at 5:00am. Would have been sooner, but we had to wait on the doctor before they let me push.

My babies like to make early morning appearances.

  • Never shared mine either because it was so quick and traumatic. Still angry about it! Enjoy: woke up 2:30 am to menstrual cramps every 3-4 minutes. Disappointed because I freaking hate menstrual cramp pain and knew I'd want an epidural ASAP if it felt like that vs. back pain, intestinal pain, other pressure. So tried to sleep but after few hours called doc, hailed a cab, got to hospital 6am. Got into triage, told us I was 3cm but there were no L&D rooms available, and I could not get epidural in triage. So 45min-hour goes by, I am writhing in pain, puking, jumping off bed in between contractions to negotiate an epidural with nurses. No dice, no help or attention. Another hour goes by finally a room is ready and they say "we need to walk access the hall". I was so out of it, sort of mind disconnected from body, I knew abstractly that this walking across was a bad idea, couldn't place why. 9am, got into delivery room, sobbing for epidural, nurse sits at computer, not even looking at us. Maybe 15 later anasthesiologist comes in and I get blessed epidural. Best feeling in the world. Then nurse previously ignoring us looks at monitor and says, "Ohhh that's a decel..." Another nurse appears, "oh wow..." Code or something is called, my doctor plus like 7 others finally appear, someone is putting a hairnet and oxygen mask on me, I'm so happy to not be in pain and exhausted I can't even react. Some nurse(?) shoves her hand up and says (to everyone else, not to me), "Oh, she's fully." (Dilated). Doc says we need to get baby out now, try pushing. I can't feel a thing because of epidural, so I do what I imagine pushing is. Apparently this is working great, but to go even faster doc says " we're going to use vacuum" then 2 min later "and an episiotomy". So, about a minute after, baby shoots out, full body, screaming and fine. Apgars 9 and 9. Doc looks like she murdered someone. Everyone is so happy - "great job! That was so quick, you can have a baby here anytime!" (Seriously). Hard to be angry when you have a healthy baby, but I'm angry we were ignored and they didn't check me before giving epidural. Angry epidural so late probably led to decreased heart rate and multiple interventions. Next time it will be better!

  • @CDalloway‌ that's horrible! I can't believe when I hear these horror stories, they should treat every woman on labor like a queen. My nurses and doctor were so awesome, it definitely helped me get through the pain and endure pushing. I couldn't imagine being ignored.

  • I held off "dressing" as long as I could. I would still be in bed if my house would run itself ;) My husband said after I do this errand I can lay in bed and finish my Drop Dead Diva I was watching on Netflix. I have 3 episodes left so that means almost 3 hours of my bed for me!!!!!!!!
  • I love laying with my dogs, its so special and it like feeds your soul. I love my dogs. I say lay with the dog till 2:20 ;)

I am sorry you have to go to work, that blows!!! Its finally a "nice" day here almost 60 so I think after my errand I might take a quick walk with the stroller while my older 2 ride bikes THEN find my bed and Drop Dead Diva. I feel bad if its nice out and I don't at least let them out of the house. Mommy guilt is the WORST!!!!!!

  • My Sat afternoon - getting napped on by my cuddly monster. We took Easter Bunny pics this morning and then shopped at Carters. Hard work, yo!
  • Carters wears me out too.......and my wallet ;)

While your getting napped on I hope your watching something good on t.v or reading a good book. That is what I always do while my LO naps on me.
  • TV is on but I'm considering napping myself. DH has drill this wkend so he woke me up at the buttcrack of dawn this morning. Plus we have a military ball tonight so I won't be able to be lazy like I would like....

  • Since this seems to he the random/catch all thread. Have any of you ladies with daughters painted their little toe nails yet? I want to and I think they are finally long enough but my mom told me to buy nail polish for kids called "piggy paint" rather than use regular polish. What's your opinions?
    No opinion.
But I'm assuming she wants you to use this "Piggy Polish" in case LO puts their foot in their mouth so they aren't eating toxic paint chips or something?

And I haven't yet. I'd love to, but I think DH would kill me. Lol.

  • I won't lie I own two girl dogs and I've used their nail polish on LOs toes once. She moved to much for the job to be "pretty" but I feel OK using that since it's nontoxic and it dries super fast like 15seconds. We will try again in about 2 months. Especially once it's flip flop season.
